I'm on virtuous 3.1.0 and I'm trying to install an application that is a .zip file from my phone's internet browser. When I try to open the .zip file I'm taken to rom manager and I can't install the file. Anyone know how I can install it?

Can anyone detail the differences between these? Im on 2.7 now, what will i notice that is different?Also im not sure what the difference is between the kernals offered as well. There is stock, and custom. Is there also a kernal optimized for battery? or is that built into one of the others?

When I download Virtuous 3.0.1 from ROM manager what do I do next. I thought ROM manager would automatically install it from here. Do I need to choose something from the sd card?

View 17 Replies View RelatedSo I have been rooted for sometime but haven't played with any ROMS yet until I finally got tired of waiting for Nov OTA and realized virtuous 3.1 has implemented the updates already.I figure a new post regarding this rom was warranted and hadn't seen anything in AF INC yet.1st thing to note. If you have been pondering this update and not doing it because you will have wipe the phone, Virtuous does not require a wipe and when you install the ROM you will have all your old data.I thought this was cool, especially for when the next updates come through such as new Sense build as well as Gingerbread.I did have one question for any other virtuous users.

I've heard good things about Virtuous.I cleared the cache and hard all data since this is a new ROM. Loaded fine. Titanium backup etc.I disabled weather updates. Turned off all google updates. Anything I could find.I still see the sync icon in the top bar spinning. If I go into Accounts & Sync I can hit "Cancel Sync" and it stops, even though I have no idea what it is trying to sync.I restored my older ROM but would love to give Virtuous a shot again.Any suggestions on a setting a may be overlooking?

So I changed to virtuous 2.7 with the modified kernel which I thought the audio streaming was working on, mine is not. Anyone know a way to fix this? Is this a known problem or just my phone? Also is there any way to get the android keyboard on the virtuous ROM?

View 39 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when using bluetooth audio in my car with my current setup (see sig), the audio no longer automatically resumes when I re-start my vehicle. When I was unrooted with 2.2, if I turned off the vehicle with audio playing, it would automatically resume when I started the car again later. Any ideas? I'm using MixZing as my player.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the root scene, and have been messing around with different ROMs, but have noticed on two different ROMs (frankenrom & virtuous) that when I receive text messages, the time stamp on them is incorrect. My account was set up in Illinois, but I'm now in Delaware. When I send a text it stamps at Eastern time, however when I receive a text, it comes through at Central time. This causes my texts to become unorganized and I have to scroll up in stock messenger (prefer this over Handcent or chomp) to read my new message. Any ideas? It was fine before I flashed any ROMs but now its really bothering me.

View 2 Replies View Relatedin Virtuous Rom 3.1 the Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation voice doesn't work...instead of speaking the directions, the voice rambles on about XML versions and a random website in a slow-motion voice. I'm shocked that I can't find any information at all about this on XDA or here.Does this happen to anyone else who uses Virtuous Rom 3.1? I tried to contact RMK via XDA PM but he hasn't responded yet, sent last night. I would really like a fix for this, Google maps navigation is fantastic.

It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter a few weeks of being rooted, getting rid of bloatware, etc., I decided to give Virtuous 3.1 a try, and downloaded it to my SD card using ROM Manager. I backed up all data in apps that had their own backup utilities and made a Titanium backup and then a nandroid in clockworkmod. After reading a number of threads, I figured ROM Manager should be OK for installing Virtuous, so I selected "install from SD", navigated to the correct file, and checked the backup and wipe options (I already had a nandroid, but figured another backup couldn't hurt). Anyway, for about 10 minutes, all I saw was a mildly disgruntled-looking android figure and a triangle with an exclamation point, which from my reading isn't what is supposed to happen.
I finally pressed the power button and it went into ClockworkMod Recovery with the following message (below the menu):
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.5
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to seek in /cache/update.zip (Invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
I used ClockworkMod Recovery to reboot, and everything seems normal, no data lost or anything - but what did I do wrong?
I reinstalled Swype after the upgrade... how do I get the keyboard again? I went to settings and language & keyboard and checked swype. I forgot how I got it to come up the first time I installed it.

I've already made a Nanadroid backup, I'm going to purchase Titanium Backup this week for a full backing up of apps and everything else. The music, movies and photos are going to be backed up on the laptop. I've heard many times that ROM Manager makes the process rather painless. Is that still the case? Does it wipe if all I have is a newly rooted phone with wireless tether installed? I've read the answers stating no, when it's upgrading from say 2.7 to 3.0.
But otherwise? Is it really as I've read? ROM Manager, choose and let it install? (This, I'm not entirely certain of from what I've read on the boards.) At the moment, I'm looking towards Virtuous. What swayed me was the possibility of the HTC 3.0 sense when it's more stable and the fact that everything else that I'm looking at, such as: Hulu, DSP Audio are part of the Rom Manager setup. The last question I have is, is there a necessity in working with kernels immediately or can I just use what it comes with for now?
I have rooted with unrevoked 3 done a nandroid backup, done the unrevoked forever and sucessfully upgraded my radio to the 2.15. I downloaded sky2.5.2 and put it in the root of my sd card. when I boot into recovery and and try to install the zip from sd card it keeps saying "aborted". Is there something that I need to do before installing Skyraider? Everything is working fine on my phone, the call quality is amazing now, I just can't get up to 2.2!

Right now, I have two apps that are fully downloaded but aren't installing for some reason. They are showing up in the market as 100% downloaded and just stuck on that. Any ideas? I'm running adrynalyne's Sense ROM.
