HTC Incredible :: Weather Isn't Working Properly
Aug 31, 2010I am on phone #3 since the last two blew out the external speakers. Anyway this one hasn't had the weather working properly since I have received it, even after going to Froyo. It shoes my weather town name as "Current Location" instead of my towns name which the first two Incredibles showed just fine. The phone will occasionally show my town but not always. I have tried updating the weather a couple times but no luck. I also made sure all the location settings were turned on.

May 12, 2010The power button no longer works to turn the phone display off when the phone display is on. It works when the phone display is off to turn the phone display on and it works when I press and hold it to display the phone options menu.

Nov 4, 2010Does anyone else notice this issue on the Dinc? I'm on to my second Dinc and it happens to that one as well: Once the battery gets in the "red" (i think 10% or 15%) it doesn't start charging at all unless it's been plugged in for 20 - 30 minutes. Regularly if you charge your battery (from the non-red level) you see the little lightning bolt appear and then you see the progress bar go higher and higher and reset and go higher, higher, etc. When the phone is in red status, you just see the lightening bolt and no progress is made. I tested this by leaving it plugged in for 10 - 15 minutes and unplugged it and it did not move up 1 percentage point. After 20 - 30 minutes suddenly you see the progress bar move. This really sucks because once your phone is in red, it takes a while before it starts charging. I brought my phone to Verizon, had it swapped out and my "new" (refurbed) phone does the same thing. Searched the forums and checked out google and found tons of battery issues, but nothing like this. Anyone else experiencing this?

Aug 28, 2010When I try to enter something into the url/search bar on either the stock browser or dolphin hd (which is what I normally use) one of two things happens. Either the input box simply closes after a few keystrokes and I have to start from scratch, or the input on my screen doesnt match up with what is actually sent. Generally, the autocorrect will not be updating properly, and will refuse to even give me the option to send what I've written and will insist I go to a previous page, even If I just want to do a Google search from the bar.
Other times, it will start to accept input into the suggestion window but stop after a few letters, and when I hit return to go, it will only take those few letters it has acknowledged, rather than what is actually in the Input window. The only work around I've found Is that if I just close the keyboard and click the box again, the correction window will be gone and it will use the text I'd entered. This is only if I am in the version of they keyboard with the .com shortcut, e.g. URL entry. The fact that it happens in multiple browsers make me feel like it's a problem with how the sense keyboard is handling URL input.
HTC Incredible :: Vibrate Not Working Properly After 2.2 Leak
Jul 28, 2010I was on 2.1 stock, did the leaked ota and then the 2.2 leak. Everything is working great but I've noticed vibrate is not working for notifications. It seems to work for hepatic feedback and on calls BUT apps like gmail/messages/chompsms/others don't vibrate at all even if it's enabled. What the hell do I do? Any ideas?

To reproduce this you can add the small one to a screen, then delete it, then try to add the face book widget again and it won't ask you which style this time.

May 6, 2010Well, go the update in the middle of the night and now have a slight problem. I use the phone as an alarm and this morning it would not shut off. I have the side buttons set to disarm the alarm and nothing. I had to turn the phone completely off and then re-boot to get the damn alarm to shut up. Now I can't get "what do tigers dream of when they take a little tiger snooze" outta my head (ringtone from Hangover).

Have downloaded a new Bootanimation.zip and accompanying audio file from XDA devs website.
Now...can't seem to get it to function properly. WHERE do I put these files? I put them in the /local/data folder and it used the stock VZW boot animation when I rebooted.
Do I need to RENAME the file? Or do I just have it placed in the wrong location?

Jul 22, 2010I have developed an application for Android and do not know yet whether its graphics are displayed properly on EVO 4G.It works fine on devices that have medium density screens, but I have no exact idea how the app's user interface might behave in EVO 4G's category (high pixel density).Can anyone help me and make some test? It would help me a lot. You can find my app in Android Market (free) under the name 'Sticky Note Cork&Orc'.
Questions:
1) Do you see the wooden edges if you scroll the cork board entirely to the bottom/ or to the right edge.
2) Are the graphics (cork board background/ buttons) strongely fuzzy or sharp enough?
3) Are some graphics cut out of display?
4) Does the virtual keyboard (partly) overlap the text box if you make some input? (important)

Sep 1, 2010So, the moral of the story is "Don't use the native calculator to do your taxes". Open the standard calculator, and enter 49990-49602.62 (a simple subtraction problem) Then push the = sign. Handy-Calc (excellent App) does not do this.

My personal Exchange account is my MAIN acct. I am using Touchdown for me 2 Exchange accts. My problem is that I now have duplicate contacts throughout the phone. Is there an easier way of managing my contacts? I do not want to give up my personal Exchange acct and just use Gmail.

May 17, 2010I followed these instructions after applying the 2.1 OTA update:
I. Rooting your phone (the easiest part)
1. Download this file: PB00IMG.zip (md5: 63eacc5ede3b179f95dc22d8ef585f94)
2. Place PB00IMG.zip onto the root directory of your sdcard.
3. Power down your phone.
4. Hold Volume Down + Power On. This should bring you to a screen saying "HBOOT" and some other stuff. Wait for it to load the image, and it will say Push Activate. Push the trackball button to continue. The process will take around 5-10 minutes. The first time your phone boots up it will take a lot longer than normal.
5. Your phone is now rooted.
After, I thought I confirmed that I had, in fact, gotten root access since I saw a # instead of the $ for the prompt via the SDK tool kit. However, when I try to use an app that requires root, none of the function properly. For example the terminal emulator force closes when I try to start it. Also the wifi tether app fails to start, and seems to just turn off wifi on my phone.
Android : AVD Not Displaying Properly
Dec 4, 2009I am trying to make sure my application looks good on the droid, my AVD seems to be messing up. The resolution is off, as the apps shortcuts are spaced the same as my g1 (I know they are usually spaced further apart, and the AVD loaded correctly once, and it's been jacked up since). Also changes I make are often not reflected, and when running a build it no longer says application already installed attempting to re-install, it just says installed successfully.In short, is there any way to fix an AVD that is acting up like this? I have tried deleting it and remaking it, but that doesn't fix it.

Jul 21, 2010It seems as though my droid x has a hard time with the wi-fi connection. I turn it on and the wi-fi signal comes up but i am getting horrible speeds. my ping is anywhere from 300 to 900 (Horrible) and then my download speed is 1400kbps or so. and the upload is around 1500 kbps or so. I have tried atleast a dozen tests. The speeds almost seem like 3g speeds. is it becuase the 3g isnt being turned off when the wifi is on and that is what i really am testing? please any advice would be great, i really like this phone but if my internet connection is going to be like this I don't think i can handle it.

Aug 23, 2010Disclaimer: I've started a new thread as I felt this was distinct enough from 2.2 feedback and different from a similar thread.I upgraded to 2.2 today, did it over my mobile H connection and it all worked fine, no problems to report.Got home and turned the wi-fi on and while it will see all the surround access points, included mine, it won't actually connect to mine. When I go right into the settings and look at what's happening it appears to be unable to get past 'Obtaining Address.Nothing has changed on my wireless setup from this morning when 2.1 connected fine.I've rebooted both the router and the phone and it still doesn't connect. All i've not done yet is a factory reset on the phone, but to be honest i'm loathe to do that unless it's completely necessary.Strangely the wi-fi hotspot feature on the phone is working fine.Can someone please help, this is a major issue for me.
