View 1 RepliesThe EVO looks like a sweet phone, and if they ever bring it to Verizon with some LTE love, I'll probably buy one, but does anyone wish that they increased the resolution of the screen just a little to take advantage of that big 4.3" display? Maybe the next gen will. All in all, it looks like a great device, but I don't think it's going to save Sprint.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been checking both XDA and this forum about everything on Htc Desire HD. I have not seen a live demo of the phone yet, but so far I love the Sense UI, Android OS, Size and look of the phone. My gf is getting a Iphone 4, I think its an awesome phone but dont like the UI, size or look of the phone. One thing I do like though is the speed in menus and browser. So I have a few questions. I have heard alot of complaints about lag on Desire HD but that its been fixed with the USB debug thing. So how is the smoothness now compared to the Iphone? Browsing on the internet seems a bit choppy, is it because of flash? can I turn it off so it runs better?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to resolve following task: smooth change of brightness from 100% to 0%, but can't gain effect of smoothness. Want to emphasize that I am using following approach of brightness change. The recommended one.
WindowManager.LayoutParams lp = window.getAttributes();
lp.screenBrightness = floatPercent;
// 0 - 1 window.setAttributes(lp);
Well, it obviously works, but not smooth. I will describe logic. I have a thread that changes brightness:
while (isRunning()) { Thread.sleep(sleepTime);
spentTime+=sleepTime;
view.post(new Runnable() {
public void run() {
changeBrightness();
} } );
}
We have duration of brightness change, for example 10 seconds. I calculate next value of floatPercent (see code snippet above) the way, sleepTime should always be less than 50ms. So looks like it had to be smooth. But I always get not smooth transition. It relates specially the range of 0% - 5% of brightness. Smoothness is completely lost on this brightness range. What can you propose?
What is Android current maximum screen resolution? Will the maximum screen resolution be increased in later updates of Android?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded "Android System Info" and it shows my RAM is at 8%. How do I increase that short of turning the phone off and then back on? I would assume this is why my phone slows down as the day goes on...?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I made the mistake of trying to drive 80 mints using my DInc as a GPS unit. Drained about 25% of my battery. On the way back I didn't use GPS, but had BT turned on. In 80 mints it charged my battery 5%. With 2.1 and this same charger I didn't have this problem. My problem there was that the battery got really hot and stopped charging. I fixed this by simply mounting the thing in front of an A/C vent. Problem solved. Now Froyo has "fixed" this overheating issue by making the phone not charge so fast so it's now basically useless as a GPS unit IMO. Is there a ROM out there that fixes this charging issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a way, after obtaining root, that I can make the App Storage bigger? I don't feel like I have that many apps installed, and I don't feel like HTC gives enough space for apps on the phone, when there is 8 gigs on board space. This, and the ability to connect to Ad-Hoc wifi connections would be the only reason why I would root.

View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know a way to increase font size on the incredible or possibly an app? My Blackberry had an option to do this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible has appropriate volume for phone calls, but when I plug in my earbuds, to listen to podcasts, etc., the volume is much too low. Does anybody know of any way to increase the volume when using earbuds? I do have the volume key set all the way to high, but for music and podcasts it doesn't make it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI'm curious to know if there is a way to increase the LED notifications for emails and texts to anything more then 5 minutes. It seems kinda pointless to notify for only 5 minutes especially if you are away from your phone or did not hear any notifiers. After 5 minutes you will still need to unlock the phone to check for something. I have just moved from the Motorola Droid to the Incredible and noticed that the Droid's LED notification blinked until the message was open regardless of that duration. Any ideas?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there an app for increasing the ringer/alert volume on the HTC Incredible? The original Motorola Droid had plenty of volume, but the phone sucked. Now we have the Incredible that works great, but only if you hear the ringer.Has there been any discussion about an update, because I haven't seen anything? I did see discussion though about the Motorola Droid X.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to increase the intensity of the vibrate mode on the Incredible. We tend to shoot people in meetings when their phone rings and the vibrate mode is so suttle I don't even feel it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else noticed slow open times and navigation lag within the app since the last few updates?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to increase font/text size on the new HTC Incredible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeeing as how the screen seems to have the largest draw on battery life, I've been running the screen brightness at "0", with the native tools. I installed an app called Quick Settings, which decreases brightness by another 10-20%. May not work for some brighter situations, but if you want to have the screen "always on" or know you'll be going hard w/ Facebook, every little bit helps.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone about 2 days ago and I did a nandroid backup, titanium backup, used titanium backup to freeze some of the bloatware.. Have not yet installed any ROMs or Kernels. I got SetCPU and made several profiles in an attempt to increase my battery life. I wanted to see if it was working so I set up a widget, and despite the fact that my battery was at 20% (I have a <25% battery profile setting) the max was still 998
View 22 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if I will be able to increase the email font size on the Incredible? I have BB Storm 2 and can't wait to get rid of it. I tried and returned the Droid because I don't want to put my reading glasses on every time I get an email or text. I have talked to several Android 2.1 users who tell me that this can be done, but not a single one has been able to show me that it can be done.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince root has been attained, I have a feeling this app would be possible:An app that disabled the screen dim right before the screen times out.My guess is (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that the voltage outgoing to the screen changes, and therefore dims the screen. If an app could be developed that maintains this voltage, the screen could be at a constant voltage, and not dim, ever.Has anyone heard of an app like this, and, if not, is there anyone interested in developing this?I am sure a lot of people (like myself) would be willing to donate for a program like this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i think i might have the first shattered Incredible screen. I dropped it from two feet onto the metal camera protruding part. It hit with very little force. You can barely even see the mark from falling. So i pick it up and notice the entire screen is shattered when the screen was face up, the screen didn't even hit the ground! I can't believe how thin the Incredible screen is, it literally crumbled jut from the force of a light fall. I'm unimpressed in the build quality of the glass. I want to contact HTC about this and see if they can help me out, it seems like a manufacturing defect, maybe a weak screen? I need to find the biggest case that i can find for my replacement, one that could absorb a fall if it falls on the back part. I am thinking maybe a pillow as a case? That might help. Now im out ANOTHER 100 bucks to make an insurance claim on this. I highly recommend people keeping the insurance, the screen blows up even if it is not directly the part that hits if it is dropped.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI rooted a few days ago and did the forever S-off. I have ROM Manager loaded and was poking around in the system. I downloaded Skyraider and ROM Manager asked me to reboot. Not thinking it wouldn't let me know what it was doing when in recovery before doing something the rom had been applied. Now the Phone has for 40+ minutes been at the "HTC Incredible" boot screen.
I have read not to pull the battery but The power Button and Volume button do nothing so I could really use some suggestions. As a little more info I have not flashed the radio yet so it was a 1.x radio that a 2.2 rom was just seemingly applied to.
Bricked or recoverable? I have a Nandroid backup if someone can help me get back to that point...
I have an Incredible and a friend just got the Evo. I also went to HTC's Evo launch party in NYC so I've had my fair share of time with it and I have to say, IMHO, I was shocked at the difference in AMOLED vs LCD.
I never really gave much thought to it and I always thought it wouldn't really make a difference but HOLY COW.
It was the first and glaring thing to me whenever comparing the phones. Everything from the home screen to widgets to photos, videos, web sites. It was quite dramatic. The LCD on the Evo always looked kind of washed out since I've become used to the AMOLED.
The viewing angles, crispness, deep blacks and color saturation on the AMOLED is a huge win for me.
I just got my incredible in the mail to replace my droid and i'm hoping that i just have a lemon here. anyone that is coming from a droid, do you notice a huge drop in quality in the screen resolution vs the droid? yeah, the incredible's screen is brighter, but the screen is so heavily pixelated compared to my old droid. it's a big shame because i absolutely love the phone but the websites are almost unbearable to read.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI am sure that there is a thread on here about RAM but I downloaded Andriod System Info and it is telling me that I only have 46 meg of RAM available.
I am trying to figure out how to increase the available RAM. My phone is not running slow but I know that this can't be right, there should be more available.
Found this over at xda. Tried it and am now getting speeds in the 7-9mb range(use to be 5 mb). Less dropped connections now also. [GUIDE - YMMV] Connect to 4G sooner & stay on longer - xda-developers
