View 6 RepliesI noticed today that it is taking FOREVER to charge my phone. Has anyone else seen really slow charging? I'm connected usb to my computer but "Charge only" in settings.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that their incredible gets bogged down and runs super slow from time to time? Something as slow as opening hand cent and writing a response message can take for ever, I type the word and 5 seconds later it will show up. I do not get why but it is really frustrating.
View 24 Replies View RelatedCan anyone use Google Voice on their Moment? When I get an incoming call, it takes so long for the call to come through that by the time I try to press 1 to accept the call, its going to voicemail.
I've tried it several times and its physically impossible to answer the phone, listen to who's calling, get the number pad to come up (after waiting for the screen to wake up) and press 1 before it sends the caller to voicemail.
I really like this phone, but its lag is wearing on me (and I'm running one of Joeykrim's speedy kernals). I hope it speeds up with the upgrade to 2.1. If not I might have to switch to a Blackberry (blasphemy!! ) until Sprint comes out with a faster Android phone.
Hopefully they release a patch soon and same with dolphin hd.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHandcent was awesome. Did past couple updates and now it opens incredibly slow. When it finally opens it force closes. Love handcent over stock messaging app. Maybe someone has an older version of the apk that used to run fine.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've have a Nexus 7 2012 running 4.3. On a clean install, the running apps tab in the settings showed Used RAM equal to 450 MB.
After installing some apps, now the Used RAM shows to be 560 MB. I haven't installed apps that throw push ads or run background processes. I do have some free apps that show ads though.
I tried to stop cached processes an d running processes, bur that increased the RAM use. Even app ops doesn't list all my apps. Is there any way I can reduce this RAM usage?
I'm new to both xda and android rooting. I just want to know what's the different between Kernel and ROM? Do you need to flash to the latest Kernel to increase stability while running a certain custom ROM? I'm just a bit confused between these two and what their function

View 17 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to 3.6 after this whole Sun/Oracle JVM fix/debacle and I notices that 3.6 EE runs super, duper slow. So slow to the point that code assist is unusable. Here are some changes I made to the config to make it operate a lot better:
eclipse.ini: replace the end with this:
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.6
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m
-Xms128m
-Xmx1024m
And turn off JAX-WS Proposals in Content Assist Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assist > Advanced. I also disabled JPA and PDE, but you might need them depending on what you're doing.
Ive had my evo since day one.Absolutely love it.It's just that within the last month it's been taking awhile to open anything. If I click on mail it seems as though it stalls for awhile, then "loading" screen then it opens.Same thing with the messenger to check my text.Again with the loading screen which stays open longer than it use to. Ive tried to reboot here and there but it doesn't seem to make any difference.I just miss the way my phone use to run and open everything up so quickly.Im not complaining, if this is normal than o.k.I can wait a few more seconds. Is it that I have too many apps.Ive used up most of my space on my sd card, is that it?I have my phone stock. Is it time to root and will this solve my problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo lately my Eris has been running extremely slow. About a week ago I got a notification for "Internal memory is getting low." So after reading through several threads of the same topic and doing all the suggested actions (delete old text messages, uninstall unnecessary apps, clearing the cache for applications) my internal phone storage now says that there is 45.61 MB free. Yet, I still have not noticed any improvement in performance.
For example, I use Handcent to text message, and lately I have been unable to open it without it force closing every time. I've tried removing it as the default and using the native SMS program, but when I go to compose a new message it won't bring in any of my contacts when I go to select one. It just stays at a loading screen and then force closes. Also, it shows the phone number of an incoming text instead of the contact name as its stored in my phone book, so I pretty much have to guess who's number it is. Any thoughts on why it would do that? The dialer is just as bad, and since I don't have any of my friend's phone numbers memorized the phone is pretty much useless now and unable to perform the most basic of functions, using it to make calls.
I'm at my wit's end pretty much, the only other thing that I can think of is performing a factory reset. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions or experience as to whether a full reset actually helps?
My phone is not rooted. I know, I know. Rooting will improve performance, but it seems like a hassle to me and I'd rather not have to deal with it (at least not yet).
My internet connection seems to be running pretty slow atm. It keep jumping from 3G+ which is really fast then back to G which is pretty slow, Why is this? Is there a way to make it 3G+ all the time and be stable or is it common for it to flip through them its changing like every few seconds.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I've heard a lot about it, so i decided to flash it and it wont let me press the android after it's been loaded. The android will flash white on screen, but wont let me proceed with setting up the phone. I wiped and flashed again, and it's doing the same thing. Anyone know the cause of this? So to get me through today i re-flashed Froyo v30 and its running slow as hell, the browser moves incredibly slow and the menus are leggy too. I've flashed it before and had a great experience so i was just wondering if anybody knew what was going on.

View 18 Replies View RelatedA while back I mentioned that running the imported p2p codebase I have on the emulator (on a fairly powerful laptop with plenty of mem and a fast processor) was pretty slow. I blamed all that on the codebase and in fact I was able to profile it and make it much lighter. Well still the overall app performance is slow --- and I am finding that most apps I run on the emulator are fairly slow. Is this a common trend? I do expect emulators, who are by no means a real device, to have such processing delays but are they in general this slow? Any metrics or any other feedback from anyone that depict the factor of slowdowns you would expect on an emulator vs the real device? I know a lot of this are machine dependent as well but consider an idle powerful machine. And regarding memory - I am loading Eclipse with close to 1G to be able to run the emulator and its basic services - is that normal?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my first android phone. My HTC EVO. I love it. But recently its been running extremely slow. It takes about 2 seconds for an icon to even highlight when i tap it. then another 2 second to open the app. Now, I'm new to Android, and I got an app killer, and I leave 4g and wifi off.. my friend suggested I take out the battery to reset the system. And now its working fine, but I'm dreading the next time it gets slow. What is going on with my phone?

View 35 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a brand-new Galaxy Fame GT-S6810L and I've been trying to optimize its RAM usage. I know it's naturally low, since it's only 512, but I've been uninstalling unnecessary apps using Titanium Backup (I'm rooted) and the phone still doesn't work very smoothly. It sometimes freezes for a while and then restarts on its own.

I return to using the stock keyboard and the lag is gone. Anyone else getting this?
