I searched and didn't see any topics for this, so makes me think I am missing something obvious. I cannot see a way to tag photos on FB, thru HTC Sense version of FB or actual Mobil FB Site.

I am finding that listings in the "people" app are different than those when I try to find them with the phone dialer. I do not understand. Suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn all honesty the only think keeping me using Sense based roms is the HTC People app which links facebook accounts with contacts. Is anyone aware of another app which replaces that app and does the same thing? How hard is it to pull that app as well and have it function on a vanilla rom for purely personal use as im sure theres some sort of liability involved there legally if distributed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

If I use the "People" icon. I only have a fraction of my contacts in the list. What is the difference between the two sets?

I do tech support for a carrier and along with the calls I get daily from frustrated Android users and some of the threads that I read in various forums, it just seems like this isn't a widely known or used option. Personally, before I have someone do a factory reset, I always have them put in in safe mode. Only once has the original issue they called about reoccured while in safe mode, so out a replacement went. Just seems so much easier to do a little self troubleshooting rather than calling up a carrier or ranting on a message board about how bad or faulty a device is. I'd hazard to guess that 95%+ of the issues these devices run into is due to end-user error.
I would search to see if this was already asked... but I don't even know how to word it, or what to call it, so I must just ask.
On my Droid Incredible, if I launch the People app to view my contacts and hold the Menu button while viewing the main contacts list, a keyboard will pop up. Type on the keyboard, and the typed letters appear in a smokey overlay over your contacts... but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know what this does? Without rebooting my phone, I cannot get rid of the *banner* I guess you'd call it. I've done this twice-- once on accident (thought the keyboard would allow me to search contacts), and once just now trying to figure it out!
in my "People" list, I have several individuals that have multiple phone numbers - work landline, home landline, work cellphone, personal cellphone, etc. When I tap on such an individual in People, I'm presented with a list that looks like this:
Call home
[home number]
Call mobile
[mobile number]
Send message
[home number]
Send message
[mobile number]
.
.
.
I would like to be able to remove the "Send message" option for all numbers except for their personal cellphone number. It obviously makes no sense to try and send a text message to a landline, and I certainly want to avoid texting to a work cellphone.
Im seeing quite better scores with vanilla based roms which I have switched back and forth from (CM6, Jager, etc); understandable. However my main gripe with all those is that they dont offer the great UI for the HTC camera and a way to integrate Facebook contacts with your address book like the HTC People app. Has anyone found something that works very similiar to it so I can rid myself of sense forever .

However, I discovered that if I, for instance, put my best friend's cell phone number as a favorite icon I can no longer find his contact to add his home number to a favorites icon. The app seems to allow for only one favorite icon per contact. I am sure I am doing something wrong and there must be a way to have two favorite icons for the same contact but different phone numbers such as home and cell.In addition, sometimes when I add a contact to the Favorites app, the contact is no longer listed or searchable under People. Weird, no?

View 3 Replies View RelatedUnless I'm crazy I remember being able to create custom field labels for the phone and email info in the original people app (all contacts are Google type) on my Incredible. If I created them on my phone; they showed up in my Gmail contacts. If I created them in Gmail contacts; they showed up on phone.
Now all I see on the people app label options are the standard ones with no option to edit/create a cutom as there was before. Is this the case after 2.2? If so I'd rather have 2.1 back. I loved that feature! Anyone else see this on their DINC?
Is there a way to restrict calls to only those people in my contact list?

View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen viewing an individual contact in People (Contacts, Address Book equiv.) the single address field contains the street, city, state and zip. (The Google Contacts, which is the source for the 'People' is also a single field for street, city ,state, zip.) The latter part of the field (zip, state and sometimes city), does not show up without clicking on the address, loading the map (with GPS running) and then clicking on the address balloon in the map.Is there an easier way that I should be doing this to read the entire address for a contact?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the OTA Froyo update for my HTC Incredible on Verizon. Now when i go in to the People application and touch the icon next to a person's name, the menu comes up with two "phones" on it, one to make a call, and one where gtalk used to be. When i touch the second phone, it brings up a list of crazy apps to associate it with. Most of the apps to associate are not actually anything.
Has anyone esle experienced this? I'm not rooted (yet) and to be honest im growing tired of the junky HTC apps on this thing. I'd love to just have the android contacts manager because i think it'll interface better than the htc ones.
I've been looking everywhere and I haven't found an answer still and it is frustrating the hell out of me.
When I go to messages, it lists a ton of e-mail addresses and duplicate names etc etc. When I go to people, these are not listed.
It seems like it is listing every single e-mail address i have ever e-mailed from my gmail account. How do I get rid of this??
For example: John Jones is not listed in "people". But if I go into messages, and check the contact list, it will show two entries:
"john jones: johnjones@gmail.com"
"john jones: johnjones@yahoo.com"
I was able to remove all of the facebook contacts it automatically added, which was stupid to begin with.
i know you can type up the letters/numbers in phone mode and names will appear or scrolling up and down. is there a quicker way to do this like the iphone that automatically pops up ABCDEF...etc
i know a little bar on the right side shows up but it's not the easiest thing to use.
