Is there a way to limit who I see when I click on the people icon? For example on my BB I could set the filter to personal and not have to look thru the 200 plus business contacts I have.

If I open People it just sits at the loading screen Messages don't have the people names on it
The people widget doesnt show the group I cant click Phone or call or text anyone Then either people or HTC sense will force close. is there any reason why i can't do anything that relates to my contacts?
newb to android - I have 300+ contacts but really use about 10 or so 90% of the time. I have these 10 as favorites - is there a way to have the favorites open first when I click People? I know it's not that big of a deal but it would eliminate one step.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn bettercuts i keep trying to make a people shortcut with a better icon. I go to the app and start to make a new shortcut. I go to activity and there are 3 different People app in there and none of the 3 actually open my contacts. I don't know what to do to fix it or do i just have to use the crappy icon for people with Bettercuts?

It happened recently, I had it for two days and it worked fine.I was looking up this problem on the internet and someone said a reason why its not there anymore is because when I connected my Vibrant to my computer via USB, I didn't disconnect my phone from the computer "safely" which might have corrupted some files which pretty much sounds exactly like my situation. I have a solution idea though I don't know if it would work. My brother has a Vibrant as well. I thought maybe I copy his Avatar movie file to my phone and maybe it would work?

View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure if im missing something here. I have the messaging app on my home screen. So when I click on the messaging icon it pulls up a list of all my contacts. I then choose a contact and it then gives me options to call or sms the contact.
How is this anything to do with messaging. When pressing the messaging app I would expect my sms inbox to come up.. Have I broke it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI went to the local VZW store to play with one. It looks as if the default web browser is limited to 3 windows, is this the case? I know stock android can handle up to 8. Is there a way of allowing more than 3 windows? or is it just a setting that was set on the store's demo phone? I know I can use an alternate browser like Opera or Dolphin (and I very well may) But isent the default browser the only one that can use the "Flash Lite" that HTC added? (Something I want to take advantage of until real flash comes)

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis should go in the battery section perhaps but I'm in a hurry and wanna easily find it when I get home from work. My battery life is awful. I send txt messages and thats about it and my battery drains in a hurry. On days that I 'play' with the phone and use the hell out of it, it drains in fast forward. I read a couple pages of the battery life post and tips and tricks section and probably need to shut down or limit programs running on my phone. I have the power control widget on screen and most of the time have everything off. If surfing the web or whatever I turn wi-fi on, then off after use. If I do nothing with the phone for awhile then switch to task manager it will pull up a list of a dozen or so things running..thought this thing was supposed to kill these apps. Do I just go into each app or widget and find some options to limit everything? What about juice defender (is that right?)? Does it help? Seems like my phone is on the charger more often than not. I'm going to pick up a new battery but would like to learn how max battery life before I do.

But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

I do tech support for a carrier and along with the calls I get daily from frustrated Android users and some of the threads that I read in various forums, it just seems like this isn't a widely known or used option. Personally, before I have someone do a factory reset, I always have them put in in safe mode. Only once has the original issue they called about reoccured while in safe mode, so out a replacement went. Just seems so much easier to do a little self troubleshooting rather than calling up a carrier or ranting on a message board about how bad or faulty a device is. I'd hazard to guess that 95%+ of the issues these devices run into is due to end-user error.
I would search to see if this was already asked... but I don't even know how to word it, or what to call it, so I must just ask.
On my Droid Incredible, if I launch the People app to view my contacts and hold the Menu button while viewing the main contacts list, a keyboard will pop up. Type on the keyboard, and the typed letters appear in a smokey overlay over your contacts... but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know what this does? Without rebooting my phone, I cannot get rid of the *banner* I guess you'd call it. I've done this twice-- once on accident (thought the keyboard would allow me to search contacts), and once just now trying to figure it out!
in my "People" list, I have several individuals that have multiple phone numbers - work landline, home landline, work cellphone, personal cellphone, etc. When I tap on such an individual in People, I'm presented with a list that looks like this:
Call home
[home number]
Call mobile
[mobile number]
Send message
[home number]
Send message
[mobile number]
.
.
.
I would like to be able to remove the "Send message" option for all numbers except for their personal cellphone number. It obviously makes no sense to try and send a text message to a landline, and I certainly want to avoid texting to a work cellphone.
Im seeing quite better scores with vanilla based roms which I have switched back and forth from (CM6, Jager, etc); understandable. However my main gripe with all those is that they dont offer the great UI for the HTC camera and a way to integrate Facebook contacts with your address book like the HTC People app. Has anyone found something that works very similiar to it so I can rid myself of sense forever .

I wiped the phone but that didn't seem to help. Is there anything else I can do? Is there a mic volume I'm missing?
