My phone will no longer save email attachments to my SD card. Photos and movies will save to the card, but attachments that used to go there not longer go. I get the message: "Unable to save attachment to SD card" after choosing "save". I have previous attachments there, but new ones won't go. Any solutions?

I use gmail. I get attachments. I am trying to find a means to be able to save these attachments directly to SD card. For example,
jpgs/png/gif, not a problem. docs/xls/txt, I can peview, but not save them. problem is if I get a 3g2 file, I cannot preview or save the file. Sometimes I get videos from client's phones and I can nor longer view them remotely. With my winmo phone, I was able to at least detach them to the SD card. Bottom line, is there ANY way, app or otherwise, to just simply have a "download" button?
Trying to figure out why I can't open file attachments from emails. Received some pdf files and two doc files today. Tried opening files from email with pdf reader program and quickoffice or whatever its called. Neither type of file would open. Tried to download then open files with same problem. Files are definitely .pdf and .doc, just opened and rad them on laptop now. Also confused...is there any way to look at my SD card folders and files through a phone app? Can't figure out how to see anything other then my music and photos.

Can't even SAVE to phone... wtf? Am I missing something? I mean - it's about as stupid as having segregated "Gmail" and "Email" apps on a single phone.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI wonder if one of you kind souls could help with a couple of probs I'm having with my HTC Desire.
The first problem is with text messages with photos attached. I see "Slideshow- 1 slide" but when I try to view it, I just see the text that was included in the message on a black background. If I go to save the slide, I check the box and then "Done" and get "Unable to save attachment".
And secondly, I can't seem to get Picasa to work. I select a photo on the phone, go to Share With, then Picasa and it asks me to login to my google account. I do this, and then it just goes back to the picture without uploading or doing anything! It's driving me mad!
When I try to view or save e-mail attachments, I get the message "Sorry, an error occurred. Please try again. If the problem persists, there may be a problem with the file you are trying to access." I even tried to view or save e-mail attachments that I could access before and save and they are not even working.

But when I get emails with attachments I have to save the attachments on the phone then navigate to where they are saved to be able to view them. I have tried searching around here and it seems the EVO folks are stuck as well. Would Google really stop us from doing something so essential? Whenever my wife emails me a picture of our dogs (no kids so these are our kids) it always comes through as "photo" so when I download it saves as that. Now if I don't go back into the picture viewer and rename it the next time i try to save a photo attachment it tries to overwrite the last one as its comes in as "photo". Is there any easier way of renaming these attachment without having to go into picture viewer and renaming the last one first? Basically I'm want to do a "save as"

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing a droid incredible and sync with exchange. Tried to attach to songs from phone in a new email to myself. The email sat in the outbox and would not deliver. Deleting the email also deleted the files off the file system (or sending an email deletes the file?)
