Sure hope this Isnt true, but In using spare parts, seems last few days my partial wake time gulper is handcent. This would be a real shame. I hate the stock messaging app.

When i look to see what is using up my battery, it appears that everytime it says that camera is around 45%. I have checked everywhere i know and it does not appear that my camera is running.....
View 2 Replies View RelatedI posted this on other forums and wanted to get opinions from here also. When my phone is on a white screen, like the Google search page, I can see a light brown circle in the middle on my screen. So I'm wondering if the battery is burning the screen. (Something similar to how the battery burns the back of the white iphones and leave a light burn mark.) But can the battery do that to the screen? I did apply a Zagg screen protector with solution, but the circle is to perfect for it to be from that. So, anyone else seeing this or has had this happen to their screen before?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a quick question about the AMOLED Screen the Incredible uses. I noticed that if you have for example white text on a black background for an extended period of time and go to a full black screen you can still see the ghosting of the text like it has been temporarily burned into the screen. It goes away after a couple of seconds. But I'm worried a display on for too long could result in a more permanent burn. Could this be a case of burning or is it just the way the screen refreshes? As I am not too familiar with the AMOLED Screen. Hopefully some of you more screen technology savy people may know what's going on. And hopefully this will be helpful to others as I couldn't find any other thread relating to this. Thank you in advance.

Also how do I get rid of the notifications in my dropdown screen, I really dont need the notification there as well as on the Pop up...........
A while ago I got rid of Handcent because it was very laggy following updates.Having heard this had been fixed, I have downloaded it again and it's no longer laggy which is great.However, it is draining the battery. I know this because I've had the System Panel monitor on, and the history shows that the CPU usage for Handcent is high for about 15-20 minutes after I send a message (as opposed to the stock, which just goes down as soon as I've sent a message).Is there a setting somewhere on Handcent that I'm missing, that's keeping the CPU usage high?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI know most of you probably check your texts pretty quickly and I do too but I was in a meeting one day and received a text.My phone was not turned on once during the hour long meeting yet when I turned it on for the first time after the meeting I noticed the battery had drained nearly 10%.Turns out I received a text about 15 minutes into my meeting and upon looking at Spare Parts I noticed that Handcent kept my phone awake for 45 minutes.the amount of time it took me from receiving the text to reading it.I then thought it was because I had the pop-up option enable.no go.After turning that off it is still keeping my phone awake. Can anyone else replicate this issue? I had my wife send me a text and then waited a few minutes to check it and then checked Spare Parts for the Partial Wake Usage.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the update to Handcent and they made it so the contacts picture shows in the chat area, thereby limiting the overall space available for messages. To me, this is not a beneficial update and I want to disable the new feature. Has anyone figured out how to do so yet? I may look into Chomp SMS if this cannot be disabled.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem sending MMS to AT&T from my Incredible. I attached the photo and it resizes it and says it sends but my friend never gets it. I tried to send one with the stock messaging app and it went through.
SMS messages go through fine. I even upped the size limit of a picture from 300KB to 1M and still nothing and some of the resized pics are way less than 300KB.
I was able to send an older pic that didn't need to be resized. Could it be the resizing?
Is there a way to backup the Handcent settings? Took me a couple hours to completely customize Handcent the way I wanted it and now if I upgrade to Froyo I'll lose all the settings. Titanium Backup doesn't backup anything but the application.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else been experiencing this issue?The rest of my applications have been running great.I love the new additions of 2.2 but was surprised to see a slowdown in Handcent.I understand that some people have been experiencing typing lag,I have as well but even while opening the application and choosing between contacts I have noticed a great deal of lag.Enough to make me go back to the stock messanger(which could have used some customization options with froyo IMO).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had the 'low memory' notification on my phone for a while, plus Handcent has been extremely laggy lately... so I decided to delete some of my SMS as I have never deleted them and Im sure I have thousands...
I have tried to delete the threads in handcent, force delete in handcent, and delete in the stock messages app.. and every single time the phone winds up hanging and eventually the program will FC.
So, all of a sudden handcent quit vibrating at all. I cant figure out why or what I could have done to cause this. I have checked and rechecked all of the settings. The main reason for me using it is because I kept missing messages and handcent allows to make at least longer vibes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I have a good amount of contacts in my phone and never do I have a problem with responding to texts even if the person isn't in my phone book. I have one contact that for whatever reason I can't respond to with Handcent. When she texts me I reply normally and it says there's no contact, so I have to go into the stock program and talk to her thru it. Has anyone else experienced this before? honestly if it was someone I talked to regularly I would have to go back to stock but I rarely talk to this person but when I do it's kind of annoying, and I forget and start using handcent so I always have to cut and paste things.

View 30 Replies View RelatedSo I gave in and decided to download Handcent. I wasn't overly impressed with the HTC Message Widget and have heard such great things about Handcent. But, I'm having trouble getting the widget to work right. I have a blank home screen and added the Handcent SMS Widget to it. I thought that should make a full-screen widget like the other do. But instead it is just putting a tiny little Handcent icon as if it was a shortcut to the program (which essentially is what it is because if I click on it then Handcent opens). I have done this multiple times to make sure I was putting the widget and not the program there.
