Ok yesterday my desire informed me its phone memory was.running low, so I got rid of some pointless apps and games. I've downloaded one game and now its full again. Have I done something wrong? Un-installing is really quick. Is there anything I can do.

I have a major issue with my Desire. I've been keeping an eye on the amount of Internal Phone Storage space I have left as it's running very low and I've noticed that if I install an application and then uninstall it not all of the space is freed up. I've tried rebooting and that does not help. I don't want to go down the path of do a factory reset and restoring my apps but I can't think of any other way round it. Does anyone know which folder on the phone applications are installed to? I've found the system apps in /system/app but I'd like to check to see if there's anything left behind from applications that I've uninstalled as a last resort.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone storage on my HTC Desire seems to be permanently full up, I know there's things like the Internet cache and contacts that are growing all the time but I should still have enough room for other stuff. I've installed and moved all apps to my sd card, I only have 35 or so and there all fairly small little apps but I use them all.
Yet I am always getting the phone is running low on memory message, so I cant install anything from the app store. Thing is I still have 11.55 mb of phone memory but I feel I should have loads more, there's only really a few things taking up memory from what I can see in my apps because everything else is on my sd card.

Flash Player 10.1 : 12.39mb
Maps ; 7.75mb
Swype: 5.96mb
Facebook: 3.80mb
Voice Search: 2.57mb
HTC Sense : 2.30mb
Internet : 2.39mb
Everything else is all really under 1mb. Is there some other files or something lurking on my phone memory that shouldn't be there?
My internet connection seems to be running pretty slow atm. It keep jumping from 3G+ which is really fast then back to G which is pretty slow, Why is this? Is there a way to make it 3G+ all the time and be stable or is it common for it to flip through them its changing like every few seconds.

Something as slow as opening hand cent and writing a response message can take for ever, I type the word and 5 seconds later it will show up. I do not get why but it is really frustrating.
View 24 Replies View RelatedIve had my evo since day one.Absolutely love it.It's just that within the last month it's been taking awhile to open anything.If I click on mail it seems as though it stalls for awhile, then "loading" screen then it opens.Same thing with the messenger to check my text.Again with the loading screen which stays open longer than it use to. Ive tried to reboot here and there but it doesn't seem to make any difference.I just miss the way my phone use to run and open everything up so quickly.Im not complaining, if this is normal than o.k.I can wait a few more seconds.Is it that I have too many apps.Ive used up most of my space on my sd card, is that it?I have my phone stock.Is it time to root and will this solve my problem?

So I've heard a lot about it, so i decided to flash it and it wont let me press the android after it's been loaded. The android will flash white on screen, but wont let me proceed with setting up the phone. I wiped and flashed again, and it's doing the same thing. Anyone know the cause of this? So to get me through today i re-flashed Froyo v30 and its running slow as hell, the browser moves incredibly slow and the menus are leggy too. I've flashed it before and had a great experience so i was just wondering if anybody knew what was going on.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's just me, but my HTC Magic becomes very laggy after few minutes of use. Cleaning the Market and Navigator's cache and stopping all background tasks with TaskPanel Lite helps, but then after few minutes of use it becomes extremely laggy again. Don't know what to do.
Note: When I clear all the background tasks and cache, TaskPanel indicates that the phone available memory is from 20 -> 24mb (seems to be to few) but after some minutes of use it goes to 3 -> 5 mb of available memory.
I changed my memory card from 2GB to 8GB SDHC card, after that my phones acting kinda slow.
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy phone (htc desire) kept saying low on phone storage and I assumed this meant the memory card (originally 4gb) so I purchased an 8gb sd card and put it in my phone, however the same message popped up low on phone storage. I now realise that its the memory storage thats low and not the sd card. Is there are way of moving my apps etc., on to the sd card rather than using the phone memory? If this isn't possible is there any other way of getting around the low phone storage problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen testing my app on a device I go through several "installs", although it's really the Eclipse plugin doing this for me.After a while (not very long) the device starts complaining about insufficient storage.It seems that progressive "re-installs" eats away the phone storage even though the app being installed (presumably) is either removed by Eclipse first or at least overwritten.Interestingly if I use a task killer to kill everything on the phone (which I only use for dev purposes btw),the available storage indicator recovers and I can keep working.As I said, it's more annoying than anything as the workaround.well works, but I'm wondering if there is some sort of cache chewing up storage?More importantly, I'm a little concerned that the same may happen with updates from the Market?That is, the update effectively replacing the current version of the app but leaving an allocation of storage behind in its wake.

So is it possible to merge/combine this together so I have a total of 2.5GB for apps without adding a alternative ROM?
I have a rooted phone with 4.1.1 Jelly bean.
My new android 4.2.1 phone has 32GB of phone storage, but only 1.5 gigabytes of that is allocated to the "internal storage" partition for app installations etc. The rest is used as an internal SD card for data storage. I also have an actual SD Card of 32GB.
I find the 1.5GB of internal storage a little bit too low and I fear to run out of memory in a few months of intensive use. As I have a large external SD card it is a bit useless for me to also have a huge internal SD card partition and I'd rather add some of that to the 1.5GB of internal storage for apps.
I have googled for quite some time now, but I can only find threads of people trying to extend their internal storage by partitioning an external SD card. This is NOT the same as my problem as my phone storage is large enough but just not properly allocated in my view.
So my question is as follows: is it possible to add a few GB's from my phone storage to my internal storage?
My girlfriend has a Droid...but hates how incredibly slow it is and complains of the battery. We all know that a ticked off girlfriend is bad news, and this phone seems to perpetuate it. So what are some steps to speed this guy up a little and make it run longer? I'm not above rooting and flashing ROMs

When i have the swype app running then my phone is very slow, meaning when i just hit the home bottom takes five seconds to get there with all icons showing. I return to using the stock keyboard and the lag is gone. Anyone else getting this?

Just got a text message that wouldnt come thru, and it said 'no text message space left'.
Just uninstalled somethings that were 10MB, now giving me 35MB free but
I keep getting texts, the phone vibrates , which it wasn't set to do, and says 'text memory full'. I am assuming it is vibrating to give me a warning.
Can I clear some of the text memory, or must I clear all of it. And if so for either, how do I do this.
I have moved apps to sd card that makes sense.
How can I free up more space.
Not had my desire long but down loaded a few apps for it they all seem to be stored on phone memory not the sd card. what is stored to the sd card seems to be unused so far. do you have to set it up to use sd card or does it know one is fitted. does it switch to sd card when phone memory full. will run out of space soon if can't get things to store to card instead of phone mem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince about 10pm last night my dhd has become unbelievably slow. every key press (whether it's accessing a menu or typing a word) has a delay and even loading my inbox takes several seconds. the circular sync logo is displaying itself most of the time on the top right of the screen, so it could be something to do with that? i've tried rebooting the phone, going offline etc. but nothing seems to be able to fix it.anyone else had this problem with a desire or desire hd before? it worries me a little. i hate stuff like this...

Will there be a fix for this in the next update to give you the option to allow installing of apps to the sd card instead and leave to internal memory alone?
