i have here a 7'' tablet that i would like to insert in a acessorie in my car. the problem is that once inserted, i cannot seed the entire screen. i have to reduce the screen displayed in the tablet to match the accesorie size. is any app or mod to do it?

I recently bought one of the HD-89 7 inch tablets that are available now. Nice thing is they also have a phone function.
They are MT6589 devices based on MTK8389 hardware. I was wondering if there is already a CWM Recovery available for these devices. Rooting was no problem.

I have a 7 inch tablet (Novo 7 Paladin) running ICS. Unfortunately, most apps just use the phone layout wich I assume is because the manufacturer set the android:screenSize property to "large" instead of "xlarge".
Is there a way to change this, so that Apps will use the "xlarge" screen layout?
Would it be possible to edit android source code lets say for the Galaxy S to only use a certain portion of the lcd screen. Say much like changing the resolution but creating it so only say 1 inch down would be usable. The rest inoperative.

touch screen not working on 7 inch pad. Have done a factory reset and of course wiped everything clean to start new but no luck.

So I have no clue how I got the scratch, but I have about a half inch scratch on my phone. It's very light and usually covered by a finger print. I am going back to screen protectors but I would say for a first scratch not a bad run. I have kept it naked since I bought it and have had kept in my keys with pockets. View 24 Replies View RelatedI've a two month old Haier W910 with stock ROM. The other day, when switching on the phone, the device displayed white snow. The device function normally - touch screen, audio, wireless and cellular (accept calls) but the screen continue to show white snow (like old analog TV).
I found a youtube video showing the same symptom and one of the comments suggested that the phone need to re-flash ROM and it will solve the problem. The youtube video posted confirmed that it did. Since then and for the past 3-4 days I've been trying to flash my phone but it doesn't work. I'm able to put the phone in "Download mode" and use fastboot to flash a recovery boot, oem unlock works but I can't seems to reflash full ROM: I can't use the "update.zip" method as a I can't see the screen and when I try to flash different ROMs under www.needrom.dom using 'fastboot update' it keep saying:
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
I can't flash the rom in "recovery mode" as I can't see the menu and select the proper option.
I guess I also need to replace the bootloader as the screen is white snow from the very beginning..
So the question is: how can I do a device full reflash WITHOUT using the screen (preferably in fastboot)

I find the original rom, and I reinstall it. But now the g-sensor don't work.So I've found another rom, in wich the wifi don't work, and the g-sensor yes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that the videos in Youtube looked much better on my new phone then on the previous phone and thought that the Youtube app was defaulting to the HD stream (previous phone had really crappy WiMax, new phone is LTE @14Mbps even inside a large warehouse). After toggling it on and off to be sure it was indeed off, it appears that it still is using a higher bitrate stream probably because of the great LTE. What is strange though, is that last week, Youtube was averaging 150-200MB a day after watching a couple of videos. This week, after toggling HD on/off, it's nearly 3-4x as much and rapidly using up my data for the month. The "regular" stream also doesn't look that much different at all from the "HD" stream, so it could be it's stuck on the HD stream because of the high bandwidth my LTE connection has (or something else).
I want to use a lower quality stream to conserve my data, but have not been able to find any way to do so within the Youtube app, or via a Xposed module. Is there any way to choose the video size at all on a Android device? I'd prefer to stick with the stock Google Youtube app (via some external control/option?), but if I have to use some other app to do so I will.
I was wondering how to create an emulator environment for a tablet sized device,i know there are quite a few devices being released soon, but how do start sizing up my layout?
