Jun 6, 2010I just got this phone on Thursday night. I like it so far but one thing about it is annoying me. It doesn't seem like I can make different sounds for all of my contacts for text messages. I can take music on my phone and assign it as different ringtones for each of my contacts but I don't seem to see any option for text alerts. Am I missing something? I already know how to add the music to the notifications folder I just can't do anything but use one as a default. I was able to do this with my BlackBerry Storm without any problem. Is there an app for that? If not I wonder when Froyo is available for the Incredible if it will be possible?

Aug 20, 2010I recently got a new dinc (within the last week) and it worked fine for a while but then suddenly stopped being able to call or text. i get the cause code: 1 and error class: 3 when i try sending a text, and when i start a call i hear an automated voice telling me that my the authentication for my phone has failed. I've tried reprogramming it a few times using *288 option 1, which fixes the problem for a few hours, but then it stops working again. does anyone know a fix or why this happens?

May 7, 2010Hey, I was playing around with my Incredible today, and to my dismay I have made it so my phone does not vibrate when I receive text messages.
I looked through all the other threads and they didn't help.
I've gone through the sms settings and turned vibration "on"
I even have it in vibrate mode. that didn't work.
regular mode. didn't work.
I fixed it just in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Download "sound manager" open the app, click your "menu" button and click "vibrate options"
You'll see that vibration notifications are turned off.

Apr 30, 2010When the INC is sleeping I can feel the vibrate or hear the notification sound, however, it won't wake up or let me know that I have something waiting for me just by glancing at it from a distance if it's sleeping. This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.

Sep 7, 2010I don't understand why while using the lock feature on my Incredible when i recieve a text it shows up on the screen before i unlock the phone. isn't the point of locking it to keep prying eyes from seeing your stuff? Aug 10, 2010When sending a text message, I click on "new message," then type in the person's name.
When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!

Sep 13, 2010When I first got my Incredible, the vibrate worked perfectly on texts and calls. But ever since I rooted and started swapping ROM's frequently, it no longer works for texts. I read about downloading Sound Manager and checking Vibrate settings but everything is right there too... The only ROM that vibrate works with is Virtuous, however I don't really like Sense so I'm currently on Ruby 1.1.1.

Jun 22, 2010I must be an idiot but I cannot figure out how to select text that I have input.Say I type a paragraph and want to copy only part of it (this is still text I'm still inputting) . I long press to get the menu and choose 'select text', I get the cursor with the arrow but when I try anything, the entire paragraph gets selected. This is ONE thing the iPhone did great.
