I've searched but can't find anyone mention this: I go to contacts ("people") and long-hold menu to bring up the soft keyboard. Anything I type displays on a gray transparent pop up box that stays on top of contacts list, and I can't get rid of it until I reboot. This happens to my friend as well. Is this a feature? How do I get rid of the text box?

I love this phone, maybe because it is my first real smartphone (BB Storm wasn't a smartphone, it was a special education student), or maybe it is just that awesome. Anyway, it seems that autofocus never focuses on what I want it to. Or at all, so it seems. Am I doing it wrong? Is my phone broken?

I went to http://androidforums.com/ and was dismayed that the webmaster has coded this site so that text does not adjust to the screen width. The only way to use the site is either zoom out so the text is unreadably small, or keep scrolling left and right. The view is better than on my Centro (which has an even smaller screen), but it's annoying that a forum for mobile devices is not usable on one!I found a setting on the Moment that tries to allow the page to adjust, but if the site is HTML table-based with hard-coded widths the Moment can do nothing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI know there are numerous threads on here about dodgy wifi, but I think mine is a more unusual problem then most are finding.My problem is that wifi stays connected all time when it should do, but using apps that download data are all unreliable. Nearly every time I want to download something, wether it be a webpage through browser, or rss feeds through newsrob, or just to have a look at market, it only works about 30% of the time. I have to go and switch wireless off, wait a few seconds, then switch it back on and wait again. Then I can try downloading stuff.
I know I have the same problem with at least 3 wireless routers, and nothing else has the problem with any of these routers. My old iPhone worked absolutely fine with them.For example, at home I have several computers that use wifi to connect to the internet, and they NEVER have any problems with connection. My old iPhone and my partner's iPhone NEVER has any problems with wifi. I also have tried other devices (wifi webcams, etc) at home, and all with no problems. I haven't got any special settings on my router, just the factory defaults.My Hero is the only device that has any problems. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody else with a Hero, so I can't check if it's all Heros, or just mine.I'm on a Vodafone monthly contract. What are my options? Should they replace it with another Hero?

I've had Handcent sms app for a long time and never had any problems, I love it. But with the newest update it has begun playing a long annoying song when I get an sms, even though I've set it to a normal single sound. I've tried reinstalling it, but it doesn't help. View 2 Replies View RelatedI find the camera sound very annoying on my phone, and even if it's on silent, it plays the camera sound. This is how to remove the camera sound.
1. Using a file explorer, I recommend es file explorer or root explorer, go to /system/media/audio/ui and there you will see 2 camera files.
2. Copy and Paste them into your sd card, then delete them from /system/media/audio/ui
3. This will keep your phone from making the camera noise.
Whenever I leave a wifi zone and the phone switches to mobile data I get annoying notification messages/bong from the stock email app that it "can't sign in to Yahoo mail". If I follow the notification it says the username/password is wrong which is obviously crap because it has no trouble getting mail over wifi.

I enjoyed the Facebook syncing on 1.5, but I don't really have any interest in bringing over my Facebook contact photos as caller ID pictures (it's annoying when someone posts a picture of a car, for example, as their default picture -- my friend is not a Toyota). I do like seeing status updates in my People app and having access to a unified "updates" panel in People.
I've gone into the "link" settings and changed the photo manually to the Google Contacts photo that I specified, and that works fantastically -- until Facebook for HTC Sense does its hourly sync and overwrites that preference with the contact's default Facebook picture AGAIN.
I've tried syncing, un-syncing, removing the sync option, etc. in the past 2 leaks and this problem remains. Am I missing something or is this just another annoying beta bug that HOPEFULLY will be gone in OTA?
Forced landscape, no dock is giving me these annoying boarders, I enabled labs and increased the grid size but it only increases grid between those 2 lines.

Only a fraction of my contacts are 'google' contacts - a lot are backed up through verizon or are stored on the phone. I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

When I get emails like this, I have to click on "Show HTML" or "Show Picture" every single time an email comes in if I actually want to see the email the way it was intended to be shown. I know for a fact that iphones and other email readers dont have any issues with this. Is there a setting to automatically display the email the way it was meant to be shown instead of having to click these buttons each time I want to view the email correctly? Or, perhaps there's already a market app that forces the android email client to display emails correctly?
