Or something like making contact shortcut to the home screen.
There is Person widget by HTC, but it is awful (the photo is too small).

Jun 8, 2010Been looking on and off for weeks and can not find a good a good app for either.I have been using the "People" shortcut and that is not bad just looking for somethign with a cleaner interface if possible.And since trying out LauncherPro I don't have use to the HTC bookmark widget but can't find anything to replace it with.

Sep 29, 2010Out of about 900 contacts, only 30 are personal with photos. Is there an app or widget that would allow me to see contacts without a photo placeholder? One of the widgets I love is the favorites people widget, but I can't stand that it has photo placeholders. Of my 800+ business contacts, none have photos so I'm staring at a page of grey faceless dudes.

To be clear, I want an app with widget that can display on a screen, not an app that you have to browse to, then open, and then view a list of feeds.What I'm looking for is something like the native News app but something that actually works! I've tried to use that app before but it refuses to update properly even when I try to do a manual update.

Aug 20, 2010all my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

There are tons on the market but many of the widgets aren't customizable, don't support pictures, don't allow opening the browser, etc. I really don't want to resort to using Google Reader, just because I want to have something other than one screen.

Dec 16, 2009I'm looking for a nice looking, functional SMS widget. I'm currently using the one from Beautiful Widgets, but as much as I like the other widgets in that package, I think the SMS one is painfully ugly and doesn't fit with anything else on my home screen. I know I could have Handcent do popup notifications, but I would prefer to have a widget like the one I currently use that sits on the home screen.
Something skinnable would be preferable, but if nothing like that exists, then perhaps a simple, minimalistic or universal design.
Anybody know of anything that I might like? I'm willing to pay for a good one, it doesn't have to be a freebie.

I have tried quick calendar (which always screws up on me) I have tried Laik (which doesn't even display my entries, or it does for a bit then they disapear) I currently have calwidget installed and it will not show my own entries..it did once for about a min until I went to add more and that was it)Im coming from a blackberry background user and the blackberry today feature was dominant over anything I have yet tried on my magic to display on my home screen, however my magic overall destroys blackberries, I really need a good calendar widget to display my events on my home screen,, kinda important to me since its all mostly work related.

Android :: Good Contacts App Replacement?
Sep 14, 2010I searched "contacts" and didn't see anything. I have a Moto Droid 1, was chatting with someone who has a Epic and their contacts app has a bunch more fields. I tried about 6 free ones from the Market and they all stunk really bad. I don't mind paying for one, I just want something that offers more than what I got. Also, would it be possible if I found somebody with a Samsung Epic for them to pull the .APK off their device and me putting it on mine? Mine's rooted if that helps.

All i want is a contact list with group name tabs at the top or something like that. But no... not a single app can do this. Come of them support groups, others dont, but all of them make you jump through hoops to change them on the fly.

HTC Incredible :: Good For Enterprise App Keeping Incredible Awake 100%
May 10, 2010I think I've found the battery culprit on my wife's new Incredible. We both got new Incredibles and pretty much set them up the same, except she has to use Good for Enterprise to manage her company email/calender. My phone sleeps like it should, but her phone has been awake 100% of the time since she downloaded Good. After a week of trying to figure out what is keeping her phone from sleeping, I think I have found the answer (and developed a mild case of OCD).
My question is: does anyone know how to set the sync interval for Good? The problem seems to be that it is constantly syncing, which never allows the phone to go to sleep (Up time = Awake time).

Aug 30, 2010The sony ericsson PC companion can only sync with its website and i don't want to put my contacts online. I tried this www.android-sync.com but it is at very early stage and does not work well. Heard of a companionlink.com but haven't tried it yet. Anyone tried? Any other good ones?
