I got my HTC incredible on launch day and just noticed a line going down the left side of me glass screen that at first looks like a scratch. You mainly can only see it in direct light and when I try to look at the screen from the side, you can not see the line(unlike a scratch u would you could see it at all angles). I'm not too OCD about it, I just want to know if anyone else is having these random lines as well.

Well having just got a X10. It has a pre-installed screen protector. Somehow I managed to scratch the screen protector and now I want to remove it however I'm having much difficulty removing it. Now I'm thinking if I should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it. Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen? I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since I own one without having a protector on but I want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.
View 17 Replies View RelatedFirst droid had an imperfection on the glass screen that caused a black spot (prolly 3-4 pixels big) on a white background in which I could not fix because it was part of the glass. Second droid had dust infiltrating on the sides leading to a distraction when viewing the screen. Now, my third droid has such a loose battery cover that it comes off in my pocket a lot. Am I too picky or do I just have bad luck? Really don't want to go to the verizon store again for a loose battery cover but I think that is a legitmate problem, and btw I have tried a different battery cover and that isn't the problem, it must be what the cover hooks onto inside the phone that is causing it to be loose.

I am curious, is it sand specifically, or anything like it, such as dust or lint? Could things like that scratch glass? In other words, can the screen be scratched by slipping the phone into an otherwise empty, clean pants pocket?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just wanted to offer a little information for those who may have cracked screens.I left my EVO on my bumper a few weeks ago. I realized about an hour later I didn't have it. Someone picked it up off of the busy highway and dropped if off at my shop. It had been rolled over numerous times and the screen was completetly shattered. With the help of this site, I found instructions on changing the LCD/Glass and ebay links on where to get it. I got a great deal on ebay, $79 for the lcd/glass complete. Was brand new in the packing. Bought the tools (listed in the instructions found on this site) at the local hardware store, put the lcd/glass on, and the phone works PERFECT! I am very glad. First off I didn't have insurance, and second, this has been the first phone in a while that I have had zero issues with and really like everything about it (coming from numerous blackberries).So basically, thanks for the help, and now we know the phone can take a few cars running over it and the board, battery, back, etc. held up great.It had a best buy case (appears same as seidio innocase) and Zagg screen protector on it.I have my original phone back, no scratches, spent $79 (less than the deductible even if I had insurance), and its a done deal.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI ROM'd my Droid with Broken Glass (I'm pretty sure it's 4.5). You have 5 screens...from left to right, lets just number them 1 thru 5. One would think the default home screen would be screen #3...but it isn't...it's screen #2. I like being able to just hit the "Home" button at the bottom to scroll directly to the home screen. Anyone know why the home screen is screen #2 and if I can change it to screen #3?
Side note...how can I tell what version of Smoked Glass (or any other ROM for that matter) I'm running?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWell after going thru 4 Evo's.they all had either dead pixels on the screen or dust particals under the glass.and i noticed either one screen was more brighter then the other an so on..well I just said hell with it an got rid of the Evo all together..I just cant take the dust under the screen issue..all off them have dust under the screen right out of the damn box..hell just walk outside in teh sunlight an you will see dust or lint under the screen..very annoying ..Also i was very dissapointed that HTC would use such CRAPPY TFT screens in these phones.I'm sorry but the screen on this phone looks like Garbage..Anyway I will just wait til Sprint comes out with another android phone..hopfully with the new SUPER AMOLED screen..my Palm Pre will be just fine for now....sorry for the rant..but its pretty sad that these phone come with so many defects/or with dust under the screen..hell I went thru 4 htc heros with the same problem DUST .......hopfully htc will get there head out of there ass an beef up there quality control.

I pretty much knew it was glass already, so I was more interested in the oleophobic coating question. They got back to me today and what they said was quite surprising.

No matter how much I use my phone. Like I guess I am looking for an "hour-glass" effect here, it should slowly drain until it's empty. View 3 Replies View RelatedLight leak around front casing, dust issues. The build quality sucks, I have dust under the glass in the upper left corner. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that HTC can't place a priority on build quality. I traded my Hero with dust for an Evo with dust. Oh the joy. It's really no surprise, if light escapes from the sides, why wouldn't dust enter through the same area.
Before you reply with 'I don't have dust,' make sure you examine very very closely, with a very bright light to be sure. I was the first on this forum to call attention to the Hero's dust issue, and was greatly flamed for it at first, too. The phone's haven't even been out a week, so this issues will not be very noticeable yet (as with the Hero) but will become accepted as fact soon enough.
