Just wondering if anyone knew how to connect HTC Desire to a laptop to use the phone's Mobile Network Sharing feature? I want to use Bluetooth for the connection, not a USB cable.

My hotspot is all set up. I turn it on and I can see it from my laptop. I connect the laptop and EVO says there is 1 connection. But, the laptop connection gets no Internet access. I've tried it with and without security set up. I've rebooted. I even took the battery out and let it rest. (All of that cleared out the Error 67 on the phone but still the laptop sees no Internet.) Internet on the phone is great - even got 4G, but. What in the heck am I doing wrong? How can I get Internet access for the laptop?

1. The speakers on the laptop serve as a wireless speaker system when you make or receive a call.
2. The speakers also play music from your Hero.
3. Transfer files to and from the Hero
4. Send a fax
5. Tether!
6. PIM sync (hello WinMo users!)
7. Wireless printing
I've performed all of these functions without a hitch. So the Hero looks as if it's a better phone than anticipated... at least for me anyway.
the phone is unable to connect to Bluetooth on the laptop. it's paired but still refuses to connect. also the phone is also not shown as a modem on the device manager. Any idea where I can find modem drivers for the phone. I tried NPS and KIES but they both fail to find the device and do not install the modem drivers.

I got an X10 mini pro. It feels great. I tried Internet access but I don't know how I get that without using my telephony operator (and being charged for every byte transferred).
I have internet connection home on my computer. I thought connecting my X10 mini pro to my computer through USB would be enough to have free internet and download from Android Market among other things. However, it doesn't work like that. I tried to activate "Airplane mode" so as to cut off al wireless connections and use USB "forcing" my X10 mini pro to look for th internet that way but it does not have internet access through USB connection with my computer (Internet works great on my computer).
I have just bought an Android Smart TV Box (to replace my AC Ryan media box which gave up the ghost a few days ago) and it mostly works fine - it is connected to my tv via hdmi and the box is hard wired to my router - so it is the standard connection setup. I have two usb hard drives connected to it. I obviously want to drag and drop media files from my phone (android) or my laptop (Windows7) to the connected hard drives I use ES Explorer app on my phone and Windows explorer but using either version I cannot see the Android box wirelessly - if i do a scan using es explorer it finds the laptop straight away and i can drag and drop but it just will not find the android box at all. However if i go onto the Android box and into the es explorer app and do a scan it picks up the laptop and i can drag and drop a file onto the laptop. So the wireless is sort of working as opposed to not at all. But just seems odd that i cant see it at all - i cant even ping it from the laptop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone via USB to my laptop or my desktop using any of the USB ports, my phone blacks out, goes to an Android start graphic, briefly shows the home view then blacks out over and over. It does charge albiet slowly. I turn the phone off so it will charge fully. In addition I get an alert from Windows "USB Device Not Recognized". Works fine when not connected via USB.

Update- Well I got the PC to connect to the phone by updating the HTC sync driver but I still can't use the phone when it is plugged in to the USB. Screen goes dark and none of the buttons function and the charge light is lit.
I have tried to connect my phone to my laptop and cant get it to work. Yes, I am using the original cable that came with my phone. I have the samsung drivers on there that I used to root. Could that be it? I have windows 7 I have turned on and off debugging, didnt work. It shows in my computer that I have "samsung android" but wont open or anything?
