HTC Incredible :: Faster Way To Restore App?
Jul 29, 2010The backup for titanium was flawless, however the restore is proving quite annoying. Do i really need to go through and approve each app to be installed? Or is there a hidden way I'm missing.

Can someone please help me and let me know if there is a way to restore apps faster than one by one?

ADW has many things going for it over Launcher Pro besides the fact it is fully open source, you can have themes, add up to 8 rows, and 8 columns, has a better system for resizing widgets.
I think everyone should give ADW a "fair" chance for a few days before judging. You can also play with the settings to get the screen sliding speed just the way you want it.
Right now my biggest problem with LP (well two problems) is one I have run out of room and untill more columns or rows are added I am stuck, and also the last month all updates have been based around duplicating the HTC widgets. THE HTC WIDGETS (while nice when you first start on an Android device) are USELESS! Who can dedicate an entire home screen to one widget?
Once you explore the market you find such better and more practical apps/widgets.
May seem like a dumb question but I constantly keep an eye on what apps are running to conserve battery life. It got me thinking if I stopped any running app before plugging in the charger, would it will make the battery charge any quicker??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Droid Incredible for a month and a half now and my text messages are filling up. One girl I have 2500 messages from and the loading is pretty slow. Its pretty annoying waiting to reply and everything else on the phone is lightning fast so I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to have them speed up or settings that would help. Please tell me anything that would make these messages load faster.
P.S. I understand deleting the messages will make it fast but erasing them takes way too long and its annoying. Also i need a lot of my messages.
i know you can type up the letters/numbers in phone mode and names will appear or scrolling up and down. is there a quicker way to do this like the iphone that automatically pops up ABCDEF...etc
i know a little bar on the right side shows up but it's not the easiest thing to use.
I purchased MyBackup Pro and tried to transfer my contacts, apps, etc from one HTC incredible to another. I activated the new phone, instealled MyBackupPro on it, and restored. Only problem is, my contacts came through corrupted, so didn't transfer. Now I need to go back to my old phone and get the contacts off of it using MYBackup Pro. But the phone won't let me past the activation screen. I don't want to reactivate it, I just want to use the app to download the contact information to the SD card. Why is it requiring activation to transfer information? How do I fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter being impatient for months, i decided today to root my phone using unrevoked. I am not running any custom roms, but I do have root access. Of course 5 minutes later, I saw the post that Froyo will be OTA tomorrow... Will I receive the OTA? If not, what steps do i need to do to restore this back so that I receive it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone else had abny issues with the back up restore function? I tried to do a software update, to which something seems to have happened. All i can see for the time being is an update to the virtual keyboard. Anyway, lost apps, contacts etc, so went into the menu on the handset and selected back up, restore. Restored numbers etc to phone book and over 150 number details are missing. The back up utility doesn't seem to have backed up all my numbers. Also, any personal photo's of callers etc have either vanished or the photo's are now against the wrong people. So much for this back up service, it's going to take hours, if not days to try to get the phone back tot he way it was!
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo, I have 2 backups. 1 is my stock rooted ROM and the other is virtuous. I see them on my SD card but it's not a zip file like the ROMs are, they are in a clockworkmod/backup/ folder. If I wanted to, how would I reflash/restore from the backup?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI switched to a new ROM but first did a titanium and nandroid backup. Is there a way I can get my sms and contacts back? And I've been looking around and I'm an idiot and all my contacts were on my phone not google, so does that mean they are lost forever unless I restore with nandroid?
View 8 Replies View RelatedRooted my FroyoDinc w/ unrevoked 3 and unrevoked forever this morning. In my haste to explore I started deleting some of the Verizon bloatware such as Friendstream, Facebook, Footprint, City ID as well as a couple of others before stopping when I remembered that I should have immediatly run a nandroid and titanium backup after root.
My question, can I still use this nandroid and or titanium backup I made, minus the 4 or 5 misc items I deleted before backup, to restore my Dinc to stock if need be for either the next OTA update or if I run into problems playing w/ various ROM's?
I backed up all my apps and user data just fine with it. I just installed a new rom and Restored all the data and it went fine, but I was curious about one thing.
I have 110 apps on my phone, not sure if thats a lot or not, but its a PITA sitting there and hitting "Install" then "Done" 90 times. Is there a way to have it just restore without asking? I understand this is easier than trying to download and install them all over again.
I did some searching around but couldn't find any answers; my question is how do you delete the restoration images so you can keep only two or if you find you don't need some of the older ones etc...

View 3 Replies View RelatedToday the rom bug bit me and I tried about 3 or 4 different roms (after TIbackup and nand backup of course) including xtrROM and ELB, hated them all, and decided to go back to my beloved sense-able 3.1 nand backup.
wiped, restored, and now all my market links are gone. (except for gmaps, for some reason). TIbackup refuses to even install again from the market because the package signature is incorrect, or something. TIb said it was supposed to restore market links.any suggestions? is there even any way to restore a market link besides just reinstalling the program outright? I found this thread http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-hero/81290-market-does-not-see-all-my-downloads-after-nandroid-restore.html as reference. All my programs will show as "installed" if I search them in market.either way, sense-able was definitely the sexiest-out of the box ROM I tried. everything else without sense was just ugh, looked like I'd loaded up a G1. couldn't tell a speed difference at all with the same setCPU profile, and xtrROM was so bad on battery I only made it through few hours before uninstalling. I cannot live with the sense keyboard and search-dialer.
I Installed Smoked Glass V5.0 from V4.5. I ended up doing it twice, and to make a long story short I lost my files in AK Notebook.
Here's my question:
1. Should I backup my current configuration
2. Then "Restore" my backup prior to upgrade
3. Grab my files (hoping they will be there) toss them on my mac
4. Then just "Restore" back to where I am now?
Need those files by tomorrow, any assistance is much appreciated. It's not that it's an emergency without them, but I will have to do some legwork to gather that info again.
I have just done a nand backup, then unrooted (downgrade), then used Unrevoked to root and did a nand restore. Btw that took forever! Anyway after it was said and done the phone rebooted, and viola everything was back on there. The only hitch is since I have done the restore my phone has shut off by itself 3 times. I was ever so reluctant about doing the whole Unrevoked process and this is why. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Update: It hasn't turned off since after the third time so I guess it's stable now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm posting this here because I feel my question will directly relate to custom ROMS:
Every Rom I load (Skyraider Vanilla,ShadowRom, The NewGuy Etc.) starts restoring my phone. Usually as soon as it connects with google, it has an old wallpaper up and starting to pull apps. I know how to disable it (menu -> privacy), but my question two-fold:
1. Do all roms have this feature built in?
A. If so, is it hard to remove that feature.
2. Assuming that above A. is difficult, how does one find the backup in google and clear it out so there is nothing to restore?
I know I can't be the only one this bugs, and I'm fairly certain I am overlooking some very simple step in this whole process.
I gave up waiting for the official update so decided to take matters into my own hands. Right now I have s-off, 2.15 radio and running wave 3 Rom. So far so good! Just had a few questions.
1. Is there a way to restore my user defined dictionary? What about bookmarks?
2. My phone does not seem Any faster. Is that normal? Browser seems to scroll slightly slower - maybe due to flash?
3. Are any of the HTC elements safe to restore from my titanium backup?
4. When I installed adrynalyns wave 3 Rom did it install a kernel as well?
IM trying to restore my latest nandroid file because i was having issues with the cm6 rom and not reading my sd card. so im trying to return to my last backup and then im going to reinstall the cm6 rom. but ive been sitting on my htc incredible load screen for some time now after rebooting with the backup. is this normal?

View 3 Replies View RelatedA question for all the frequent ROM-switchers. I've got the premium edition of Titanium, and up 'till now, every time I try out a new ROM, I have to re-load all my apps/data. It's not terribly inconvenient - I just do the batch 'restore apps/data' option - but I still have to 'confirm' the re-loading of each app, and it takes forever. It give me an 'install' prompt for each app which I have to press. Is there a faster way of restoring all my apps/data?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently not rooted. would like a free, easy way to backup all my SMS and contacts so when I install froyo, I am 1) starting fresh and 2) can restore all my sms.
what is the best way for me to do this?
I unrooted and updated my radio last week to play with the first leaked froyo rom. I decided I did not like it and did a nand restore to my backup that was before the radio update. My radio shows that it is back to before 2.xxx.xxx but my h-boot is still updated. I wanted to play with a couple new roms that have come out since with working 2.2 but I have a few questions. Will I brick if I re-install the OTA radio? Do I have to downgrade h-boot first?
