View 49 RepliesThe backup for titanium was flawless, however the restore is proving quite annoying. Do i really need to go through and approve each app to be installed? Or is there a hidden way I'm missing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just moved 1,500 art photos from my pc to my sd card. Is there a way to get to certain photo faster, because if i need a photo thats all the way on the bottom, it takes forever to always scroll down.. also.. can i sort them all by name? it appears they're sorted by date modified.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know we have an over 10,000 viewed thread of Launcher Pro but this board does not give any credit to ADW.
ADW has many things going for it over Launcher Pro besides the fact it is fully open source, you can have themes, add up to 8 rows, and 8 columns, has a better system for resizing widgets.
I think everyone should give ADW a "fair" chance for a few days before judging. You can also play with the settings to get the screen sliding speed just the way you want it.
Right now my biggest problem with LP (well two problems) is one I have run out of room and untill more columns or rows are added I am stuck, and also the last month all updates have been based around duplicating the HTC widgets. THE HTC WIDGETS (while nice when you first start on an Android device) are USELESS! Who can dedicate an entire home screen to one widget?
Once you explore the market you find such better and more practical apps/widgets.
May seem like a dumb question but I constantly keep an eye on what apps are running to conserve battery life. It got me thinking if I stopped any running app before plugging in the charger, would it will make the battery charge any quicker??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Droid Incredible for a month and a half now and my text messages are filling up. One girl I have 2500 messages from and the loading is pretty slow. Its pretty annoying waiting to reply and everything else on the phone is lightning fast so I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to have them speed up or settings that would help. Please tell me anything that would make these messages load faster.
P.S. I understand deleting the messages will make it fast but erasing them takes way too long and its annoying. Also i need a lot of my messages.
i know you can type up the letters/numbers in phone mode and names will appear or scrolling up and down. is there a quicker way to do this like the iphone that automatically pops up ABCDEF...etc
i know a little bar on the right side shows up but it's not the easiest thing to use.
I've pretty much spent the entire weekend installing and uninstalling 2.2 on my droid. This afternoon I got it setup so that it was running SUPER smooth. Before 2.2 my Quadrant score was about 605 (running BB1.1 oc to 1ghz). With 2.2 I was getting about 1200 in quadrant (oc'ed at 1ghz as well).I then compared my phone with my brothers (his is setup exactly how mine was before 2.2) and while my phone was a bit snappier scrolling through home screens and opening the app drawer, when it came to opening programs - his droid opened the programs faster than mine did. What is that all about? Anyone have any thoughts? Both phones were freshly rebooted.
View 25 Replies View RelatedWow, my droid with 2.0.1 is now so much faster!
So it makes me wonder, what the hell was the phone busy doing before this update? Sending data back to Google somehow? Because the speed increase I see isn't just a 10% increase, I mean it seems at least 25% faster...
Like every one here I want my phone to operate at it's optimal speed. But I really don't know what makes this phone fast. Why are there different quadrant scores on stock phones? Does running certain programs slow this phone down? I know that without rooting the phone the processer can't be over clocked, and when I had 2.1 rooted I had SetCPU installed, and you didn't have the ability to overclock the phone anyway. I guess I don't understand why someone reports a Quadrant score of 1450, and someone running the same platform reports 1350. Not that I think you would know the difference between the two.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI Got Open Home, and GDE. Used those for a while. and I like those. Sense is meh... But lately i've been noticing a lot of lag as well. I can barely finish a text without my phone lagging... >.< I would like to speed it up.... But I would also like to keep my warranty intact, I've seen some options. Updating to the Leak 2.1 v3 or Rooting. of these two I would prefer rooting... I like options lol like i said. and 2.1 v3 traps you on 2.1 v3 forever (as of now >.< )
Both of which seem to void warranty...... So my question Is... What should i do with my phone?? Is it worth it to say F*ck the warranty and root? is there something (BESIDES TASK KILLER!!!) that i can install to make the ENTIRE phone run faster? EDIT: OH!!! and i forgot. One of my big fears in rooting is the set up process after the root. Like will I have to call some Verizon number and re activate my phone like they did when i first got it??
Can anyone recommend a good, portable bluetooth keyboard to use with Droid? Quite often I do need to be able to send considerably long messages via Droid and to me there's nothing as fast as a real keyboard, where you can use all ten fingers.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI've been using ADW because I like the easy cookie cutter themes but I notice it lags sometimes when switching between screens and sometimes icons and widgets will disappear then reappear as the screens load. I tried the free version of Launcher Pro and as I was setting up the screens it felt like it was smoother. But that could have been because I didn't have anything on them yet. I know most people here use Launcher Pro - is it because it is faster or smoother? I can almost get away with using the free version but I need to be able to resize widgets.
View 49 Replies View RelatedLet's discuss board. Will the new JIT Compiler for 2.2 (FroYo) be faster than overclocking? And when we have 2.2 can we over clock?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just switched from my Devour To the Droid X. AMAZING CHOICE this phone is amazing but i see people with there linpack and quadrant scores and thats alot better then mine i have mine Over Clocked and Rooted is there any way to speed it up? Also i did install froyo leak but it didnt let me use my camera and the market not working right. I just went back to my original 2.1 with the sbf Sadly the market still isent working right.

View 23 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how much things like Assisted GPS and Wireless Networks affects battery life?
I would assume Assisted GPS doesn't affect much because the CDMA antenna needs to be on for the phone to communicate anyway. But the Wifi might affect the life more because that antenna isn't normally on when using the phone.
I noticed in city areas with tall buildings the GPS seems to have a very hard time locking on.
I've been having a lot of trouble with my phone running slower and lagging at the homescreen. I looked at memory usage and ShapeWriter uses a ton of a resources. Been running much smoother sine disabling it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if it's possible to put a faster processor in the motorola droid? ie: a snapdragon processor, a droid 2 chip, etc?...or maybe an amoled screen? or does it not work that way?
View 17 Replies View RelatedThe Android emulator is a bit sluggish. For some devices, like the Motorola Droid and the Nexus One, the app runs faster in the actual device than the emulator. This is a problem when testing games and visual effects.
How do you make the emulator run as fast as possible? I've been toying with its parameters but haven't found a configuration that shows a noticeable improvement yet.
I have the original Droid. Love it. Thinking of getting the Droid X. One question. How is the shutter compared to the original? Im satisfied with the pic quality from posted samples. But the original has a noticeable lag when taking one pic to the next making quick shots and successive shots not very practicable. Specially since it makes moving subjects blurry. Does the Droid X camera take faster pics then the original?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince updating google maps last Friday, my GPS icon goes on all the time and my battery seems to drain faster. I cannot shut it off except to cycle the power on my phone. Anyone else notice this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an unrooted motorola droid. I am considering rooting but my question to you is will rooting my phone give me the ability to make it faster? I see people talking about "overclocking" help me understand how this works. All my friends who have "jailbroken" their iphones have made their phones noticeably slower and laggier. I wont root my droid if this is the same case.
View 16 Replies View RelatedBeing new to the Eris and smartphones in general, I apologize in advance if I've missed something common-knowledge...
Today I got a 16GB Class 6 SD card in the mail, one to both max out storage and to settle a hunch -- that the class of card (i/o speed) would noticeably affect how the Eris responded. Class 6 cards are about 30 - 50% more cash than Class 2, but triple the rated write speed. Just happened to find one cheap enough to try it out...
Wow. Not only has everything from the pattern unlock screen to the browser become far more responsive, but the stutter for actions in the Sense UI is gone.
Now, for the circumstances... formatted the new card and copied the entire old card's contents onto it w/USB & my desktop. Added another 2GB of music while mounted... still slick. Mind you, tasks themselves don't happen any faster... just the delay between them I'd gotten used to, vanished...
Am I missing something? I'd hate to get anyone's hopes up, if this is just something that only resembles a performance tweak. Either the system or software use SD memory more than I'm aware, or this is all in my head. All I can say for certain is that my Eris is much nicer to use now.
When I load gmail in the android browser, at the top it says "Faster Gmail available! Update now" I click on "Update now" and it goes through an install of something. Anyway, after the install the "Faster Gmail available! Update now" is still there. It will NOT go away!!!
A popup also says to change settings of the new stuff it installs go to settings->gears settings. When I click on "gears settings" in the settings menu, nothing happens I cant open the settings. I think my gears install is f-ed up and unfortunately I dont think I can uninstall and reinstall the stock browser and Id rather not do a factory reset.
I'm liking the quality of the camera but the shutter lag is way slower than on my old env2 and on the inc. Anyone know of any other camera apps that are quicker with the AF and shutter? Any idea if 2.2 fixes this?
View 14 Replies View RelatedIt seems that my home screen takes a while to load anytime I switch to it. Noticeably lagging are the widgets on that screen (GMail Unread Count x2, Agenda Widget, power control). I figure this is because these widgets are killed when using other programs to free memory. Is this the case? If so, is there anything I can do to change that since I am now rooted?
View 11 Replies View RelatedJust read this from another thread thought root users would like to know you can save your screen setups now. I figured this will save me about 30 minutes each time I change a rom. I tried it out and it worked great. With all the ROM's I like to try this will make me change from L.P.
View 28 Replies View RelatedThere are big and fast phones on the way. IMHO - VZW is whoring the BOGO on the Droid lately. I have seen many, many Moto Droid commercials that the "DROID" sound makes me look at my phone all the time. Just seems like they want to clear their inventory in prep for some faster and newer phones beyond the incredible.
