HTC Eris :: How To Restore Market Links After NAND Restore?

Aug 9, 2010

Today the rom bug bit me and I tried about 3 or 4 different roms (after TIbackup and nand backup of course) including xtrROM and ELB, hated them all, and decided to go back to my beloved sense-able 3.1 nand backup.
wiped, restored, and now all my market links are gone. (except for gmaps, for some reason). TIbackup refuses to even install again from the market because the package signature is incorrect, or something. TIb said it was supposed to restore market links.any suggestions? is there even any way to restore a market link besides just reinstalling the program outright? I found this thread as reference. All my programs will show as "installed" if I search them in market.either way, sense-able was definitely the sexiest-out of the box ROM I tried. everything else without sense was just ugh, looked like I'd loaded up a G1. couldn't tell a speed difference at all with the same setCPU profile, and xtrROM was so bad on battery I only made it through few hours before uninstalling. I cannot live with the sense keyboard and search-dialer.

Motorola Droid :: Titanium Backup Restore The Market Links With The Apps?

Mar 24, 2010

Will titanium backup restore the market links with the apps so that I can still receive market updates?

I want to change ROMS without having to make a list of my current apps and reinstall each one. But I still want the ability to restore and get updates for all the apps I have.

And one other question, when I backup my apps, and then do a nandroid restore I assume Titanium backup will need to be reinstalled. Once I do this will I still be able to restore the apps from the SD card?

HTC Incredible :: After NAND Restore My Phone Keeps Powering Down

Jul 19, 2010

I have just done a nand backup, then unrooted (downgrade), then used Unrevoked to root and did a nand restore. Btw that took forever! Anyway after it was said and done the phone rebooted, and viola everything was back on there. The only hitch is since I have done the restore my phone has shut off by itself 3 times. I was ever so reluctant about doing the whole Unrevoked process and this is why. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Update: It hasn't turned off since after the third time so I guess it's stable now.

HTC Incredible :: Updated Radio Then Did Nand Restore

Aug 4, 2010

I unrooted and updated my radio last week to play with the first leaked froyo rom. I decided I did not like it and did a nand restore to my backup that was before the radio update. My radio shows that it is back to before but my h-boot is still updated. I wanted to play with a couple new roms that have come out since with working 2.2 but I have a few questions. Will I brick if I re-install the OTA radio? Do I have to downgrade h-boot first?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Back Up Restore Failed On Restore Function

Nov 18, 2010

Anyone else had abny issues with the back up restore function? I tried to do a software update, to which something seems to have happened. All i can see for the time being is an update to the virtual keyboard. Anyway, lost apps, contacts etc, so went into the menu on the handset and selected back up, restore. Restored numbers etc to phone book and over 150 number details are missing. The back up utility doesn't seem to have backed up all my numbers. Also, any personal photo's of callers etc have either vanished or the photo's are now against the wrong people. So much for this back up service, it's going to take hours, if not days to try to get the phone back tot he way it was!

Motorola Droid :: Backup / Restore / Get My Files Restore?

Mar 7, 2010

I Installed Smoked Glass V5.0 from V4.5. I ended up doing it twice, and to make a long story short I lost my files in AK Notebook.
Here's my question:
1. Should I backup my current configuration
2. Then "Restore" my backup prior to upgrade
3. Grab my files (hoping they will be there) toss them on my mac
4. Then just "Restore" back to where I am now?
Need those files by tomorrow, any assistance is much appreciated. It's not that it's an emergency without them, but I will have to do some legwork to gather that info again.

Android :: Nandroid Restore / Apps Downloading From Market?

Jun 17, 2010

I am under the impression that Nandroid backup & restore completely wipes the system data and overwrites with a saved image of the Android OS with whatever was on the phone at the time of backup. I created a backup to my SD Card, installed an app (ROM Manager)--couldn't get it to work so I uninstalled it. I then did a restore on my previously saved backup and right after booting up, I see a notification, open it, and catch ROM Manager downloading again to, eventually, install itself. How does the market, or my phone, know that this app was previously installed? Is it saved to my Google account somewhere? Is the data stored on my SD Card? My Nandroid backup that was created without the app being installed shouldn't have this information still on it should it?

HTC Eris :: Need To Nandroid Restore Data Only

Jun 14, 2010

I am a droid user, but my wife has an eris and I am trying to get her phone from one of the 2.1 leaks to the official 2.1 OTA with root.I downloaded a "PlainJane" ROM from XDA which seems to be the 2.1OTA with an OC kernel, which sounded like exactly what I needed. So, I performed a nandroid backup of her phone as it is and then I went into the nandroid restore menu to see what my options were with the Amon recovery image. Turns out there was no "advanced" nandroid restore option like we have on Clockwork and SPRecovery on the Droid, so my original plan of wiping, installing the new ROM, and then restoring data was dashed. So, I attempted to just flash the new ROM on top of the 2.1 leak. This resulted in tons of FC's on boot up. I then rebooted the phone, did a full wipe, then installed the ROM. It then booted up just fine, but without any of her data of course.

That is no good though as I promised her I wouldnt lose her data (again, LOL). So, I then wiped again and proceeded to restore the nandroid backup I did before I started and now the phone is right back to where it was before all of this.OK, having said all of that, I really want to just wipe, install the ROM, then restore the data on top. Is that not possible on the Eris? Is there a different recovery image I should be using that will allow me to do this? I do it on my droid all the time and it makes swapping ROM's a breeze.

I rolled it back to 1.5 using the SD card method, downloaded the OTA 2.1 update but it won't install since the bootloader is S-OFF. Is there an SBF that I should use for this that gives me a total stock flash? I tried to re-root and start over but I wasn't able to get SU installed...I'm all twisted around here and could use a back to basics walk through if one exists.

HTC Droid Eris :: Restore Files Using Sprite Mechanic

Mar 13, 2010

After following Matlock's post about upgrading to 2.1 I tried to restore all of my files using Sprite Mechanic. (Going back and re-reading his post he says that it doesn't work in 2.1-DOH). After installing Astro I tried re-installing Sprite Mechanic from the backup folder that I made with Sprite Mechanic thinking that was the way to get all of the back-up apps out of the back-up folder and onto the phone. I started Sprite Mechanic and proceeded to push the "Restore" tab and it brought up a list of all backed-up apps. I scrolled through them, deciding which ones I really wanted back and which ones I could do without, and then pushed the "Restore" button. Well, my phone froze up and would only display the status bar across the top. I tried pushing different buttons, but to no avail....

HTC EVO 4G :: Never Ending Restore

My phone started doing some weird force closes and just not acting right, so I am trying to do a nand restore. I have done these in the past with no problem, but it is currently restoring and has made about 25 lines of dots in the restore.Normally it will only do 5 or 6 lines of dots before the restore is complete; is this still normal. The screen is getting close to 2/3s covered in dots at this point and it's starting to worry me that it will never end.Should I pull the battery or is that not a good idea while its restoring. Thanks for any advice you may have I'm really stumped on this one.
