After being impatient for months, i decided today to root my phone using unrevoked. I am not running any custom roms, but I do have root access. Of course 5 minutes later, I saw the post that Froyo will be OTA tomorrow... Will I receive the OTA? If not, what steps do i need to do to restore this back so that I receive it?

Brand new droid and incredible owner switching from a blackberry. I was playing around today with my new phone and I accidentally deleted the "favorites" widget. How do I restore the "favorite" widget to my homescreen? I want it to take up the whole screen not just the small shortcut.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone else had abny issues with the back up restore function? I tried to do a software update, to which something seems to have happened. All i can see for the time being is an update to the virtual keyboard. Anyway, lost apps, contacts etc, so went into the menu on the handset and selected back up, restore. Restored numbers etc to phone book and over 150 number details are missing. The back up utility doesn't seem to have backed up all my numbers. Also, any personal photo's of callers etc have either vanished or the photo's are now against the wrong people. So much for this back up service, it's going to take hours, if not days to try to get the phone back tot he way it was!

Maybe get my phone back to factory state if I want to? No, I didn't make a backup file. I now, stupid of me. I have Huawei U8800 pro running on Stock GB with Snapdragon S2 SOC.
It seems a lot of us are having issues after upping to 2.2. Someone suggested hard reset. My question is simple, will hard reset "restore" EVO back to factory settings, AKA 2.1? I mean when you bought the phone, 2.1 is "baked" in the internal memory. When you update to 2.2, will 2.2 also be "baked" in internal memory so that whenever you hard reset you will always go to 2.2 status? I think it is, but please clarify?

the diagnostic showed I am green in all areas
I click on the nandroid backup and it reboots my phone and brings up a HTC splash screen.
basically I have to pull out the battery to get phone functionality back. I have read else where that I can hold volume down and power to bring up a recovery mod (this works) but I am not sure what to do when I get there.
I'm so angry it's hard for me to even type. I upgraded my X10 mini pro to Android 2.1 today and I followed the instructions and the YouTube video EXACTLY step by step.I made a back-up before the update, with the updated Back-up & restore app.Now the Android update is done and i've tried and tried but I can't get my contacts back. Every time I run the restore function of Back-up & restore it tells me the restore is done, but when I go to my contacts list, it's empty.

Under settings, applications, USB settings, there is an option for PC Internet that wasnt there originally. When I try to go to software update, it says Communication Failed. Unable to connect to ATT servers.
Coincidence that this started now, or is there something wrong? I reset the phone twice, and reloaded Odin twice. Everything else seems to work fine.

I should "root" my Droid X phone, something ive not heard of before -
1) does this void the manufacturer warranty, or the $6/month im paying for verizon accidental damage warranty
2) is there a way to restore the original settings on the phone, ie make it like the root never happened if i need to? so i dont lose warranty?
My question is about restoring complex activity related data when coming back to the activity using the "back" button". Activity A has a ListView which is connected to Array Adapter serving as its data source - this happens in on Create(). By default, if I move to activity B and press "back" to get back to activity A, does my list stay intact with all the data or do I just get visual "copy" of the screen but the data is lost? What can I do when more than activities are involved? Let's say activity A starts activity B which starts activity C and then I press "back" twice to get to A. How do I ensure the integrity of the A's data when it gets back to the foreground? Prefs Manager does not seem to handle complex object very intuitively.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to root my samsng behold 2 earlier today using the command codes on theunlockr.com. I thought everything was going well as I went all the way to the last step where it rebooted my behold 2. Problem is, the phone kinda just turned off after doing the reboot command and didn't turn back on by itself (I gave it like 10 minutes). I eventually then just turned on the phone manually and noticed that everything was super laggy. Even when I used taskkiller to kill every task minus GDE, it said I only had 38MB ram available. I rebooted my phone a few times and it was laggy everytime so I decided to do a hard reset. The problem is that when I attempted the hard-reset, it will now get stuck on the samsung screen when trying to load up (stayed there for over 30 minutes). I can still enter the phone if I just start it up regularly without trying to hard-reset, but it will continue to be VERY laggy.
Is there anything I can do to restore this phone back to its original state? I was reading about using ODIN to flash it or something, but for some reason my computer doesn't detect my phone when I go into Download mode on startup (it does however detect the usb drivers on my phone once the phone officially startsup into its homepage).
When i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.

You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.

I activated the new phone, instealled MyBackupPro on it, and restored. Only problem is, my contacts came through corrupted, so didn't transfer.Now I need to go back to my old phone and get the contacts off of it using MYBackup Pro. But the phone won't let me past the activation screen. I don't want to reactivate it, I just want to use the app to download the contact information to the SD card.Why is it requiring activation to transfer information? How do I fix?
