View 8 RepliesHow are people using the contacts manager in EVO? It seems impossible to organize things logically. I can't delete the default groups ("vip", seriously?), which just clutters things up. I can't figure out how to make a folder on a home page from one of my groups. When I sync my contacts into windows, the group assignments gets lost, and I have to sync EVERYTHING, meaning my poker buddies and some chick I saw a movie with once end up on my work computer...
View 4 Replies View RelatedDownloaded Astro File Mgr based on people's reviews. Alot of different file folders on there and am wondering if I delete certain ones, will they permanently delete from the phone or just the program?
Things like:
com.espn.score_center
tmp
playgame site. etc
Now I am slightly new to the android game. Had a D1 that I traded for and I loved it. Used Astro File manager on there to get swype when it was available. I hear about this app and how it is great and you need it. I have downloaded it and I am not really 100% positive on its purpose. Is it just an easy way to delete files? Are there files I shouldn't delete?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI searched on how to completely remove both of these and one method was using Terminal Emulate. When i tried this method and typed in su to start the process it would say "permission denied". Do i have to reroot my phone again in order to get rid of these two apps? I'm doing this in order to take my phone to verizon. Do you guys think its necessary to make it perfectly clean of any "rooted" things? It is now unrooted it just has those two icons!! so frustrating. read somewhere else that if these icons are still there that i am still rooted...is this true? also I do not care if i lose everything... I just want my phone restored to factory settings so i can take it in to verizon..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone using the new unrevoked, and then installed the 'Google Apps (froyo)' ROM from the ROM Manager. Clearly this wasn't the right thing to do. So when I restart, it's still sense UI with 2.1. Google apps keeps force closing, preventing me from adding my google account, and in turn having the marketplace. So I have no way of downloading the rom manager and reinstalling my old ROM. I did create a backup ROM. Though if I get the ROM Manager and can install 2.2, I don't see why I would need this. So I guess my trouble stems from the google apps force closing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to install a program on my phone. But I don't have a file manager, and I deleted my gmail acct so I can't access the market. Is there a way to manually install apks (maybe with the help of a computer)?

1. How do I actually flash a new ROM?
-I think I installed it correctly but would someone mind going over the process?
2. Why do I only see Cyanogenmod? Should their be more? Or is this it?
3. I can simply place any ROM onto the SD card in root and flash through ClockWork, correct?
Side question. How manageable is the overclock/undervolt kernel. Worth putting on? Not 'ready' yet?
Stuck in recovery at the moment, so I can't access ROM Manager. Can one of you fine folks hook a brother up with a google apps download link?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHad an issue with Rom Manager. Just installed it on my rooted S-off with Cyanogenmod 6 dinc and it is not recognizing that I already have Clockworkmod recovery flashed. It is telling me to do it again, however I have read in a few spots that with S-on it is just fine allow Rom Manager to reflash it but with S-off this could be an issue. If I allow Rom Manager to reflash clockworkmod when I already have it on my phone will it be a problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen downloading ROMs through ROM Manager, they will start and get to about 6 or 7 percent and stop. How long does it take to download a ROM ? Are they big files?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUnrevoked 3 installed Clockworkmod on my phone giving me nandroid backup capability. Now I have downloaded the paid version of Rom Manager. Should i continue to make backups in Clockworkmod or Rom Manager? Can i use Rom Manager to flash Clockworkmod or were they written using different pathways?

I've dled it but have no idea why I need it
I'm running unrevoked rooted stock 2.2 and have ROM Manager installed. I'm trying to install DSP Manager and the following happens:
Select Download ROM
Select Virtuous
Select Extra Goodies
Click the "Download" button
Select "DSP Audio Manager"
Click the OK button
Select "Backup Existing ROM"
Click the OK Button
Click the OK button on the "Reboot and Install" dialog
Phone reboots to Skating Androids screen. Bootloader is selected, so I press the power button (my other options are Reboot, Reboot Bootloader, and Power Down). I get a new Skating Androids screen that shows Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, Simlock and Factory Reset. I select Recovery and press the power button. Back to the same screen from step 10.
I'm coming from a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone to the Incredible. My old phone allowed me to sync all of the contacts from my Microsoft Business Contact Manager on my PC to the phone. There was an add-on for Office 2007. I would love to be able to do the same with my new phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was under the impression that you could use ROM manager or ClockWork mod to install a custom kernel that I had downloaded to my SDcard. I downloaded a low-volt, overclock kernel and I have discovered that I don't quite know to flash it to my phone.

View 12 Replies View RelatedWhat is the difference between a nandroid back up and a ROM backup with rom manager? I don't want to make multiple backups if they are the exact same. I'm fairly new to all this but I did manage to root my phone and flash Virtuous ROM with the included custom kernel so I've been learning something.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I select some of the options in Rom Manager, it says I need to install clockwork recovery. I already have clockwork 2.5.0.5 installed.
Does anyone know why it doesn't detect or know about it?
Also, what would happen if I selected to option to install clockwork, even though I already have the latest version flased?
Are they both the same? i use atk and have no problems
View 11 Replies View RelatedI had is that the max speed that it gives me to set when I auto detect is 1 Ghz. I want to restore my back up that I made when I flashed the kernel but it doesn't show up in ROM manager. I feel bad being such a noob question and needing a step by step instructions but if anyone can help it would be great. I tried going through command prompt but only got as far as it telling me "a list of devices has been attached", but my device didn't show up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo i recently rooted my incredible and using rom manager i downloaded the skyraider 3.0 rc3 rom. This rom is really nice but the downside to it is that my navigation doesnt work. I search for directions and it stays on the screen saying "searching for gps" or somethin like that. what could i do to fix this without having to get rid of the rom(btw i already tried pulling the battery and techniques like that)next my sd card seems to have problems now. Whenever i want to download an app on the market, it says theres not enough space and whenever i want to download a rom from rom manager it starts to say download error. should i completely wipe my sd card and is that a bad idea because isnt the rom and all the root stuff of my phone on the sd card? please!
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe great Koush has updated the great ROM Manager App and says that it should greatly reduce "broken" recoveries because recovery will not need to be reflashed every ROM switch or wipe. You can check out article and info here: ROM Manager App gets updated, once again proves its the easiest way to flash a ROM! | WJD Designs. And remember to go buy ROM Manager premium and support Koush
View 7 Replies View RelatedI accidentally merged some files in astro file manager when I was trying to move some files within the file manager and now I can't find them. I tried a search but I didn't find anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs it has already been noted in EVO threads, SystemPanel App / Task Manager history /installer and a few other features no longer work. That is because it has finally broken into a lite ver and paid ver.
The lite (free) might be fine for most. The paid is $2.99, well worth it IMO.
Is anyone aware of a file manager that can read both the internal DINC memory and the SD card? Perhaps I'm missing something, but I've tried both ASTRO File Manager and ES File Explorer with no success.
View 11 Replies View RelatedShould I be backing up everything every time I flash a new ROM? In other words, will flashing a new ROM wipe out my contacts and all my apps? If so what all does ROM manager save when I do a backup or restore point? Also, how do I delete apps I don't want that came with the ROM? Such as chrome to phone or the default browser in favor of dolphin browser.
