I am constantly annoyed by google's mobile search app. Modifying the search term is a fiasco, and using the swype keyboard to do it takes you to the bottom. Lastly, the search icon on the bar is either broken, or just does not work for me. Is there a way to make it use classic by default?

The upload and the search buttons don't seem to be doing anything on the YouTube widget when it's on the home screen. When I actually open the program list and open the YouTube app, the buttons work from there, just not from the home screen widget.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy search button on my Dinc randomly stopped working today. It lights up and when I press it, I do in fact receive the haptic feedback. It just doesn't do anything. Is there a setting somewhere I might have screwed up somehow? I haven't changed anything and I did try rebooting a few times.

They worked when I got the phone on tuesday until wednesday night, then they cut out. I just did a factory reset and they are still not working. Does anyone have any suggestions?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I've set Dolphin as my default browser, when I click on a link to search for an app in the market I get a not found error. For instance, there is a link in Documents to Go (the paid key file) that is supposed to take you to the market to download the actual Documents to Go apps when I click on that link it opens the Dolphin browser and then there is a not found error. Before I set Dolphin as the default those types of links would open the market place to the application.

At the moment I am trying to evaluate if it is possible to reuse the android contact search in a 3rd party application.
I got the problem that I have to implement a contact list/picker including a filtering possibility for the contacts list. That means that the standard android picker opened by an intent does not help me. So I decided to implement the list/picker on my own which is not that difficult. But I need to be able to offer the android search dialog in my own implementation as well.
So is it possible to reuse the standard contact search mechanism in an own application? (the contact search available e.g. in the default contact list) Or do I have to implement this one on my own?
Whenever I do a search w/ google search widget it will open the searched items in the HTC internet browser. I checked for a setting but didn't find any. Dolphin HD is the default browser.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI Just installed the Dolphin browser instead of Steel as I was using before. So uninstalled Steel, but have a little problem now. When I press the search button on my home screen and search for anything, it opens the default browser and searches, and not Dolphin. How do I change this? Thought it would ask for which app it needed to execute the order with, as it did at other places it would go online, but not here. Has been in the manage applications and delete the default browser to be default, and inside settings in the dolphin browser and the check it to be default, but it does not work.

I have been using dolphin hd browser and while it is the default browser for opening links in gmail, etc, the search bar results always default to the stock browser when you click on them.
I have 2.2 OTA on my DX and I have the Google Search widget on my home screen. If I do a voice search through that widget, the results come up in the stock browser. If I do a text search, the results come up in my default browser (Dolphin HD). How do I get voice results to open my default browser instead of the stock browser?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a number of applications on my phone that are just search plugins. (Searchify, for example.) At some point before 4.2, they "stopped working". I've come to discover that they still work fine if, after doing an initial search and pressing enter or selecting a suggestion, you scroll the bottom bar all the way to the right and select "Phone".
To preempt some questions: the initial screen's suggestions do include applications I can run, just not searching "inside" applications. I have verified that the applications I want to search inside are enabled in the search settings. I have disabled Google Now, but I've tried reenabling it, with no improvement in results.
I set Dolphin as my default browser. If I use the Google search widget, it opens up the stock browser, then if I click a link, it opens the link in Dolphin. How can I make the search default to Dolphin? What is the pay version of Dolphin and is it worth it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning SS 4.8 on my Droid and cannot use the search button on the front. I get the haptic feedback and then nothing happens. If I long press it I can use the voice search but without this I am honestly tempted to go back to stock. Does anyone know how to re-associate the button properly? Rooting has been fun and all but the headache is starting to far outweigh the reward at this point. ADW launcher doesn't freeze like the default does but I would like to be able to search to get to things instead of diving 5 menus deep all of the time.

One linear layout contains an Imageview and the other two linear layout contains text views. These three linear layouts comprise my list view row. But, to my surprise, the listview default selection(orange colored) does not work when I move the trackball of mouse or when I select it from the phone.

Im using DE03 Noobl's 1.2.3 Rom along with the Stock template DE03 and ADW Launcher. I think it may be the stock template causing this?
I was trying to use the voice search app, and now I cannot get it to work. Every time I open it I get a FC. Can't uninstall it, and it is the latest version. Not sure why it stopped working. Running CM6 with Slayher 1.1 and LauncherPro.

Is there a way that I can still use the default 'Bookmarks' as I Luv that widget rather then having to keep going into 'Home' in 'Dolphin' to find my bookmarks. I see that we can import bookmarks from default browser to Dolphin but not the other way. Maybe I am missing something but if anybody can show me a way so that I can continue using my default bookmarks widget using 'Dolphin'

I have voice caller ID, & speak message service (reads out SMS messages)...& yesterday & even a few hours ago, they were working just fine... I even tried out the new voice search stuff (microphone icon) & it was fine. Well bout an hour or so ago, my phone rang & it no longer said who was calling, nor will it read out my texts...& when I click on the microphone icon, a screen pops up that says "Audio Problems" try again or cancel. What could have happened that suddenly made these stop working? If I have to reset my phone again, will I have to re-update the androiod 2.1 & root my phone again? Can someone help me out please? I would really appreciate your guys help.

Prior to this issue, when I used either of the search widgets as I typed it would populate search results below the search text box. For some reason now this isn't happening. When I search now I don't get the instant results. I have to submit the search, and it will display the google search results in a browser window.

It's such a pain to get everything customized again... Ringtones especially. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to fix it besides resetting it? I tried a soft reset to no avail.
