My Droid 1 broke today, picked up a DX. With the newest voice search on my droid I could say "call starbucks".It would automatically call the nearest starbucks. Now on the DX it doesn't.It comes up with a list of places that are not even in my state.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to use the voice search app, and now I cannot get it to work. Every time I open it I get a FC. Can't uninstall it, and it is the latest version. Not sure why it stopped working. Running CM6 with Slayher 1.1 and LauncherPro.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy search button on my Dinc randomly stopped working today. It lights up and when I press it, I do in fact receive the haptic feedback. It just doesn't do anything. Is there a setting somewhere I might have screwed up somehow? I haven't changed anything and I did try rebooting a few times.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use it all of the time for voice commands. "Call so and so"... I am frustrated. I really don't want to do ANOTHER hard reset. It's such a pain to get everything customized again... Ringtones especially. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to fix it besides resetting it? I tried a soft reset to no avail.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI used to get stuff like "turn left onto such and such street." Now I get "such and such street" and I have to look up to see whether the arrow is left or right. So, I checked settings. I'm on "full audio." But, I set it to instructions only, saved settings, even rebooted the phone, then reopened the app, but no change. I set it back to full audio, saved, reboot, nothing. Still not getting full prompts, the way it used to.. NOTHING changed, that I can figure out. It just stopped working properly on Friday. I'm running Fresh 1.1 rom, but I flashed that about 2 weeks ago and the navigation prompts were working fine .. until Friday.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running GEL on my Nexus 4 and it has been running fine until today. Today the voice control on the launcher stopped working. The microphone is not filled in meaning voice control is not working. Why did this happen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell, it only doesn't work for web searches. It works fine for texting and even making posts on the internet. But when I just do the regular google voice search using the voice search button, it gives me the Force Close message
Im using DE03 Noobl's 1.2.3 Rom along with the Stock template DE03 and ADW Launcher. I think it may be the stock template causing this?
Yesterday I updated to the android 2.1 & rooted my phone. I have voice caller ID, & speak message service (reads out SMS messages)...& yesterday & even a few hours ago, they were working just fine... I even tried out the new voice search stuff (microphone icon) & it was fine. Well bout an hour or so ago, my phone rang & it no longer said who was calling, nor will it read out my texts...& when I click on the microphone icon, a screen pops up that says "Audio Problems" try again or cancel. What could have happened that suddenly made these stop working? If I have to reset my phone again, will I have to re-update the androiod 2.1 & root my phone again? Can someone help me out please? I would really appreciate your guys help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis morning I was listening to RadioTime with my phone in my pocket with the screen off and 3 separate times the voice search was activated. As far as I know I didn't press anything while it was in my pocket, has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know what I can do to stop it because it is really annoying.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I rooted I can no longer use any voice search on my droid. It always tells me that its has to force close as soon as I click on the icon. Is this a known issue with bugless beast 1.2 that I just have to deal with? I love having my phone rooted but id rather have a fully functioning phone that a rooted phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoesn't work in this version. when saying " send text to.." does not recognize your voice at all, or can not find contact.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted and ROM'd. It used to work that when I held down the little magnifying glass in the lower right corner of my screen it would bring up a voice search that let me say pretty much anything... navigate to [here], call [this person]. It's stopped doing that. Now when I hold it down it brings up a little message saying "you haven't enabled quick compose, please enable it from handcent settings"
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust exchanged my droid for a new one 3 days ago, the first one I experienced crackling in the speakers after 3 weeks. Today is the first time I have tried the voice search on this phone and it force closes every single time. Any ideas?
View 12 Replies View RelatedHead anybody else been dealing with voice to text freezing a lot? It seems to freeze up about 30% of the time for me. It's not application specific, and, as far as I can tell, it's pretty much random.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen in car home and i try to do a voice search saying "call 'john doe', mobile phone" all it does is search google for what I said. I want to call a person using my voice through car home like the example they give you on the car home menu. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, and why it gives you the option to "call ' john doe', mobile phone" if it doesn't work?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have read and researched everything I can about this and it is pretty clear that one cannot activate or talk to Google Voice Search using a Bluetooth headset.
Voice Dialing works, but after using Voice Search, why do they even both having Voice Dialing? Voice Search is hugely more accurate and useful.
So my question: Is there an app that will make a Bluetooth headset work with Google Voice Search?
I installed Sholes Bitchin Bagels and it broke my GPS.
I used his updater app to GO BACK TO STOCK and I lost my search by voice.
I used Unroot & Back To Stock | Root Your Droid and still have no search by voice.
Does anyone know how I can get it back?
I have a new Google Voice account, and I went through all the steps to set it up on my phone, and it seemed that everything went swimmingly. I then picked up my house phone, and called my cell to test everything out, and I just got a busy signal after it stopped ringing. I had a few other people test calling me, and played around with the settings a bit, but I couldn't make it work. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy google voice search doesn't work when my earpiece is plugged in. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I don't use a bluetooth- I use an earpiece that utilizes the headphone jack.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to switch the Voice Dialer application with the Voice Search application? I want to be able to activate Voice Search with a bluetooth headset, instead of Voice Dialer (so I can use navigation, google search, and all that jazz...handsfree).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI got the OTA 2.2 a day or so ago. I have discovered the app "voice searce" I then downloaded the app in the market. I then viewed the short intro and then I tried it out It took a while and I had to ask for help on this forum but finally I got it to sort of working. I decided to send a test text to my wife so I tapped on the app and once it loaded I said "send text to xxxxxxxxx" (my wife's name) "This is a test" After it read my voice I got a screen that looked like this to: xxxxxxxxxxxx (my wife's name as listed on my contact list)
message:This is a test I then tapped on the send button and then Sorry The application Voice Search(process.com.google.android.voicesearch) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I had tried this over and over again and I always get the same message.
Try "Navigate to caramel macchiato" or "Locate caesar salad". I didn't even know how to spell machiato!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone else is having an issue activating the voice search on their droid. I tried a few times today but haven't been able to get it to work by holding down the search button.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 2.2 OTA on my DX and I have the Google Search widget on my home screen. If I do a voice search through that widget, the results come up in the stock browser. If I do a text search, the results come up in my default browser (Dolphin HD). How do I get voice results to open my default browser instead of the stock browser?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently running the 2.2 Froyo leak on my Droid X, and I noticed that there is a Voice Search app in the Market that my phone does not recognize as being installed. Is this an updated version of the software included in the leak?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy voice search does a web search, but will not search contacts. I have contacts checked as a search able item and have cleared the cache. Neither has solved the problem. Any recommendations before I take the phone back to Verizon?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anyone has been able to make Voice Search on the Droid launch the music player and play specific music. I went into "Settings", "Search", "Searchable items" under "Quick Search Box", and selected "Music Artists, albums, and tracks" so I think voice search can search the local device for music. Try as I may, I can't make search for music on the device. Admittedly, I'm used to the MS WinMo/Sync system where I can say something like "Play Artist Korn" (like in the commercial). I'm just wondering if I'm missing the "magic keywords" to make the voice search do what I want or am I just whistling dixie. This would come in VERY handy when the Droid is in the Car Dock (I HIGHLY recommend one of these btw.I just wish they'd integrated a power adapter with it.). That way, I can launch music via voice, and not plunk around with a very small icon on the screen.
