I hope, my issue would be clear for you from my question title. I have three linear layouts in each row of the list view. One linear layout contains an Imageview and the other two linear layout contains text views. These three linear layouts comprise my list view row. But, to my surprise, the listview default selection(orange colored) does not work when I move the trackball of mouse or when I select it from the phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm binding a data table into a Spinner. But I cannot set the default selection for the Spinner based on a specified identifier which comes from the id column of the table.
How can I do that?
I mistakenly selected one of two email accounts on my X -- as being the "Default"
This was a mistake, as I really should have kept the setting dynamic -- so I could chose to send from either account.
Now I can't undo that default setting -- nor can I even switch the default to the other email account.
Here's how I got to the menu in question:
GUI Messaging Icon > Left Menu Button > Messaging Settings > Email > Default Email Account
Anyone know how I can undo this default setting -- and put myself back in the position of being able to select which account to use dynamically?
I have a question about internet on x10 mini pro. When the phone is on a WiFi network and the mobile internet network is switched on too, does the phone automatically use the WiFi before the mobile internet?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use Spinner as a button with selection pop-up. Basically I want an icon and when user clicks it - the popup list is displayed and user can make a selection. The Spinner happily accepts icon image as drawable background. Unfortunately when I select a value the text overlays the background. Is it possible to set selection text color as a transparent? Or maybe there's a better way?

I thought I would try 'Dolphin' and on the whole like it, just a matter if getting used to it. Is there a way that I can still use the default 'Bookmarks' as I Luv that widget rather then having to keep going into 'Home' in 'Dolphin' to find my bookmarks. I see that we can import bookmarks from default browser to Dolphin but not the other way. Maybe I am missing something but if anybody can show me a way so that I can continue using my default bookmarks widget using 'Dolphin'

Lastly, the search icon on the bar is either broken, or just does not work for me. Is there a way to make it use classic by default?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe other day I was clearing up some space on my phone so I was removing data from a few apps. Twitter happens to be one and up to that point it worked fine. This is the default twitter app that came with my nexus one and it has all the latest updates.Since that though its not refreshing itself until I press the refresh button and because of that, I think, I get no notifications. I've looked through all the settings and everything looks right. Update interval Is at 5, same as before and syncing is enabled everywhere. But it does nothing until I pressure the refresh button myself. The Gmail client still works perfectly and I get notifications as always when I get an email.I know your probably gonna tell me to get another Twitter client but all I use it for Is reading news so this one has everything I need and a nice simple UI. Plus it came with the phone so I can't uninstall it anyway.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe default Browser application on my HTC Hero v1.5 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website. This happens when I use GSM, 3G, HSDPA or Wifi to connect.
I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only when I used the Dolphin Browser (to access a site that doesn't display properly in Opera) that I realised it wasn't connecting and coming up with this message, so I tried the default Browser and realised this had the same issue. I then tried Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. As I said above the Opera Mini browser works perfectly but this may be to do with it proxying the data so therefore works slightly differently to all the other browsers.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
I own my HTC Magic for only few days till now, but there is one problem what really makes me angry. I bought this phone mainly for having good and comfortable access to the internet. So, all websites are working good on default browser, except one - pinnaclesports.com. When I try to enter there, it says error:
The application Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
And I have only 1 option to choose - Force close.
The same happens on Dolphin. Opera is working good with pinnaclesports website, but to be honest I don't like Opera, I definetely prefer default browser.
I've been trying almost everything. I did wipe and even changed interface from standard to Sense UI (which IMO is worse than normal interface) and I still get the same error.
Is it possible to get to the HTC's SMS message widget app to open up the Inbox of Handcent? I've turned everything off in the Desire's default messages app, but it still continues to open the HTC message app. Also when I've sent an SMS & press back, it automatically goes to the HTC message app?? Will pressing 'Force Stop' in the manage applications section stop the HTC app, or will it stop everything to do with the SMS functionality? I've read all I can on this & other sites, but I can't get it to change. Is this just the way it is & it may be altered in the future.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWell I live in the UK with a Vodafone handset and just upgraded OTA, before the update when using the dialer and selecting a contact then selecting the number would usually dial straight away. After the update when I select the contact and select the number I want to dial what it does now is take it to the number screen with the number on thus slowing down the call process and making me put it towards my ear and pressing random numbers before realizing that I haven't even made the call yet.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my phone xperia mini pro SK17i 's software from GB to ICS 4.0.4 and rooted my phone. After rooting i installed Titanium backup and remove a few what i thought were unnecessary apps from my phone . I think i also deleted the google.download.manager.apk i'm not sure but i cannot see this service in my "ALL APPS" (APP Manager) Its not at the bottom or disabled its just not there.
Since then i keep getting gapps stopped working and Google play stopped working .
i have tried
1. Rebooting (multiple times)
2. Clearing cache/clearing data for Play
3. un-installing /Re Install play
4. Download goomanager and downloading latest gapps packed and flashed the zip
5. Delete gmail account and restart and add account again.
Also i don't think there is prob in Google sync...
and checked out all the sites and forums for solution ... i still haven't gotten any solution to this.
i saw in a few places about QtADB and new ROM..but i have abs no clue about what it is or how to go about it

The upload and the search buttons don't seem to be doing anything on the YouTube widget when it's on the home screen. When I actually open the program list and open the YouTube app, the buttons work from there, just not from the home screen widget.

What I am looking for is a photo/picture gallery app that simply let's you select the folders that you want to display in the app. I was fine with the stock gallery for awhile, but then I started getting a variety of apps that store pictures in various folders (the worst one being Touchdown for Exchange which puts almost every attachment in a new folder). The stock gallery now takes forever to load up, as it is loading a TON of folders with images in them. Really it makes it almost useless at this point. This was the main reason I switched to MixZing for audio, as it let me narrow my library down to the few folders that actually mattered.

I should note that Dolphin HD shows exactly the same text select functionality as the default browser (same icons, animation, etc), so it really should be possible. But I can't figure out how.Until now, all i found was this function, which kind of work, but doesn't allow the user to expand/shrink the selection.I just discovered that long touch copy/paste is part of HTC Sense, not Stock android. 1) How can I populate my ListView so that strings are what is displayed, but when items are selected, a non-visible id value (contact id from phone contacts) is the value that is actually used?
2) I have a ListView that's using multipleChoice mode for item selections. It's popluated with names from my contacts list. When I select an item in the ListView, I want that selected item to trigger a call to my SqLite routine to store the value into a database record. How do I make this event fire when an item is checked in the listview?I had hoped to be able to use something like the onClick event for each checked item, but have made not one bit of progress.

My server's spam filter works pretty well, directing most of the spam to my Trash folder, and very little "real" mail. So when I look in my Trash folder I might have 30 messages, and 28 of them are spam. How do I select all 28 of them for deletion in one fell swoop, so I don't have to tediously delete each one one-at-a-time?
I have a simple list view control
My queries are:
1) how to set first row selected on start (after fill data in list view)
2) when i navigate by hardware button i got AdapterView.OnItemSelectedListener and color of row background change, but when i click i not get any OnItemSelectedListener and no row selected. How to select row on click.
3) when i change focus list row selection removed.
On my blackberry i was able to choose whether i wanted Month, Week, Day, or Agenda as my initial screen the calendar opens up to.
Am i able to do this on my Nexus One? I use the Agenda 99% of the time to see what class i have next along with whats ahead in my day. However whenever i open the app it always on the Month section and i can not figure out how to change that. I realize once I've selected agenda it will stay there for the next couple times if i exit it using the home key rather than the back key, however that only lasts for a little while.
How or have another calendar app recommendation. Im using Gcal.
I have a spinner selection box on my activity, but now I want to remove the spinner from the main view and make the selection available by an option from the menu button. How do I get the dialog the spinner shows if I click it without having the spinner? Currently I fill the spinner using a SimpleCursorAdapter like this:
