HTC Incredible :: Charging Via MacBook
May 1, 2010I'm charging via USB from my Macbook. Can I just unplug the device? It's just charging, nothing else. I don't see it anywhere on my computer to even eject it.

View 2 RepliesHow do I add music from a macbook to where it is put under the music folder? For my folder options when I take the sd card out and put it in the usb thingy to put in the usb drive, I have
1. albumthumbs
2. android
3. DCIM
4. download
5. LOST.DIR
6. media (which has my pictures in it)
7. rosie_scroll
I have figured out how to put different sounds on it for my notifications and ringtones, but stumped on how to put songs on it to where they show up under the music folder. Again, this is from a macbook to the incredible.
Can it read AAC files and sync sufficiently with my macbook?

Here is a little trick I discovered recently. If you have a later model BMW with the USB port that you would either plug in the iPod connector or a USB stick, if you plug your Incredible in you will be able to charge that phone through the port, negating the need for a separate cigarette lighter charger. This may work on other cars with a USB port, but your mileage may vary.Additionally, you could set up your music folder and playlists directory on the Incredible's internal storage to use it for music playback. Unfortunately on my 2008 X5 with the "single button" iDrive, it only reads the internal storage memory, and not the SD card.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had the phone for about a week. I have charged it about 4 times now. This is what I get before I have to charge:
Phone on for 9 hours
About 30 text messages
60 minutes of phone conversations
About 50 minutes total on internee
About 45 minutes setting up my screens and moving apps around
After this the battery goes DEAD!!! Just does not seem right. Should I expect an improvement after a few more charges? Any suggestions?
Wow what a difference. I have the 2150 battery Turned on, fully charged. 9 hours idle. 7 of 10 bars power. turned off, fully charged. Turn on. 9 hours idle. 10 of 10 bars power.

View 49 Replies View Relatedgiven all the tweaking I'm doing for battery sakes, I think it's a bit silly that probably the single biggest gain wrt battery life could be gained through the elimination of bump charging. if I could wake up in the morning and have my phone actually charged to 100% instead of 90%ish, that would be great.any rom's or apps have a way to fix this?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I made the mistake of trying to drive 80 mints using my DInc as a GPS unit. Drained about 25% of my battery. On the way back I didn't use GPS, but had BT turned on. In 80 mints it charged my battery 5%. With 2.1 and this same charger I didn't have this problem. My problem there was that the battery got really hot and stopped charging. I fixed this by simply mounting the thing in front of an A/C vent. Problem solved. Now Froyo has "fixed" this overheating issue by making the phone not charge so fast so it's now basically useless as a GPS unit IMO. Is there a ROM out there that fixes this charging issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI used my Droid Incredible as a GPS yesterday while having it connected to a charger. After an hour or so, I realized that the battery was almost drained. I checked the charger to make sure that it was plugged into the utility plug. Then as soon as I exited the GPS on my phone it began to charge. How can I keep the phone charging while using my GPS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen the video out is being used on the Incredible how can be charged? If I'm watching a video on the phone using a TV as the screen...I highly doubt I could make it through a whole movie before the battery dies.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I charge my Incredible with the AC charger, it is fine. But right when I unplug the USB (at 100%), the battery would drop to 92% in 2 minutes with me not doing anything at all. Then I plug it in my CAR charger and when it reaches 100% everything is perfectly fine. The phone still last all day with a lot of usage. But just wondering if anyone knows why the battery drops to 92% so fast?

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I normally use the HTC wall charger but left it at home and grabbed a Plantronics wall charger that came w/ my bluetooth. It's micro usb and everything, 5.0v output, etc. I plug it in, and the battery goes from red to green w/ a lightning bolt, but the green is moving to simulate charging. and a pop-up keeps telling me i'm at 12%. So, will other chargers not work on this thing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having issues with my Inc. after the 2.2 OTA so I did a factory reset which seems to have resolved a lot of the glitchyness, BUT, now when I charge the phone after a while the notification LED starts to flash and as it does this it alternates between amber and green and doesn't stop until I unplug the charger...
View 8 Replies View Relatedi woke up this morning to find that my inc was pretty hot (left plugged in overnight to charge), and had not charged much (it only got to ~60% starting from 30ish). it also had the overheating warning blinking lights (alternate green and amber) going. i unplugged the phone and the blinking lights stopped and it cooled back down. when it was hot BatteryLeft was reporting 45C, right now it feels normal and reports 31.5C.should i be worried? all i did was plug it in and leave it on my desk like i normally do when charging, this is the first time it's ever done this for me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI love my Droid incredible. I use it to stream Pandora here at work and it works awesome over the 3g network. Even at high quality. Anyway, I was considering keeping the screen on while the phone is charging. I always keep the phone charging while it streams the music, and it would be nice to see the album art on the screen. Before I do that though, I was a little concerned about damage to the screen. Is there any danger I should worry about? There have to be people who do this all the time and never had an issue before.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was charging my incredible today and after a few hours I noticed the red led light blinking. Thinking it was a missed call I picked it up and noticed it was really hot! I have battery snap app and when I checked the status it said the battery was overheating. I had it plugged into the wall charger that came with the phone. Is this normal? It wasn't charging that long...maybe 4 or 5 hours. I'm worried about leaving my phone on the charger at night time (which is usually when I charge my phones). Does the standard charger not have one of those chips that keeps the battery from over charging? Also, when I took the phone off the charger after noticing it was hot, the battery widget said it dropped from 100% to about 90% after only 10 min. Did I screw up my battery? If so, please tell me it's covered under the insurance.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs most of you know, the Inc will drop 8-10% of its charge within 10 minutes of being taken of the charger with no use.I stumbled accross a different method for "bump charging" that does not require the phone being turned off. After I take my phone off the charger I let it do its dropping for no reason dance. At about 92% I plug the phone back in, turned on. Once it hits 100% I unplug it.After that second charge the phone will stay at 100% for an hour or so with no usage.I drive to work, about an hour, so I dont use the phone since its too early to talk to anyone.I left with 100% and when I got to work it was still at 100%. This is with my phone connected to HFL through bluetooth.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo i am somewhat sick of bump charging. I know that it is EXTREMELY beneficial, as i get a good 20% boost in my battery life. But the downside is that sometime i do not have time to bump charge, other times i forget to turn on my phone for an hour or two... It is a hassle that i would like to avoid. Is there any software patch of some sort that would just fix the charging issue so that the first 7% do not drop so rapidly? I feel like there should be something out there, if not, then it seems like a possibility. So someone please let me know if there is anything out there that would fix the problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone charges very slowly if I plug in the charger while the phone is on, but if I turn it off for a minute with the charger plugged in and then turn my phone back on, the charge rate reverts to what I experienced under 2.1 which will fully charge the battery from 20% in about 1.5 to 2 hours. Much better than the 15-20% per hour I was experiencing after updating to 2.2. It seems to charge almost as fast as if i had turned the phone off and left it off.
