HTC Droid Eris :: Chances Of Upgrade From Verizon?
Jul 1, 2010I want to preface all of the following by stating I love the Eris. The only reason I didn't buy an Incredible at full price was because of the nice form factor. I love the hardware buttons for end and send. I"m now on my 4th phone. 1st had a trackball issue, had it replaced at the store the following day. The 2nd had a bad GPS chip (that's what they explained it as). It said I was in Florida, Alaska, and California when I was actually in Dallas. The 3rd had dialer lag issues. (I'm guessing this is common as my roommates has it as well). When placing a call, dialed or from a contact, it will sometimes take 2-5 minutes to actually load the calling app and place the call. I just received my 4th phone Tuesday, activated it yesterday, and today at work it decides to do the same lagging when making a call.I was standing out front of an office trying to get the location of my work order from a coworker. It took about 3.5 minutes to finally attempt to make the call. My new Eris barely has any applications installed as well. (Google Voice and Timeriffic is pretty much it) It happens way to frequently to be a signal issue. It happens at different times and in different places (I work for a school district across 4 cities so I travel between them a lot) I have to make a lot of important phone calls, sometimes time sensitive, and if it takes this much time to place one call then I can't do my job.Anyone have any advice, I'm now wanting to try a different phone. I would love another Eris, but I doubt it will work the way it should. Anyone know the policies about these types of cases?

Sep 16, 2010I managed to reformat my internal storage on my phone (to FAT) and now I can't boot the phone. It just bootloops. If i boot into recovery and try to wipe i get the error E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (File Exists) Error mounting /data/! Now, i tried to reformat data from adb shell by doing:
adb shell
su
format /data
but SU is coming up as an unrecognized command... format also anyone know what I should do or should i chuck this out the window
General :: Incredible 2 Only Charging Battery 50% - Bricked?
Apr 2, 2013I recently noticed my Incredible 2 was only showing the battery life to be 50% after charging it overnight. I switched AC chargers and the problem continued. So I figured the battery was done, for whatever reason, and I ordered a replacement battery from Verizon directly. The replacement battery also only charged to 50% after a full night's charge. So...it's probably an issue with the phone itself. I have Total Equipment Coverage but getting a new phone's a hassle and I like my Incredible 2 (not guaranteed to get another I imagine). I figure it might be the phone's "charging circuitry"...is that easily repairable? I need to have a fully-charging phone in a week or so...

Sep 10, 2010I'm in Canada and my service provider is Rogers, however I bought the phone in Hong Kong. At first, I rooted my Galaxy S i9000 so I can remove the stock apps, but I couldn't seem to unroot it so I flashed the firmware. At first it said "failed" so I had to reboot it back into download mode to start the flashing again. I forgot to put on the back cover during the flash and the battery fell out. Now when I turn on my Galaxy S, it stays on the welcome screen where it says "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung" and does not do anything. Is my phone bricked and what can I do to fix it?

Aug 13, 2010After several attempts trying to apply Lag Fix, my phone ended up doing endless boot loops and due to my ROMs being on the SD Card instead of Internal SD, I could not flash it and seem to not have access to somehow get the ROM file from External to Internal SD. I then tried to restore the Stock ROM through Odin and it failed miserably, with several stalls that eventually led to the screen shown below. This screen stays on when I press the power button and nothing else seems to work. Removing SIM and SD Cards also did nothing.Phone is still under warranty and I have insurance, but not sure if I can claim warranty in its current state.

Mar 8, 2010So if my phone becomes a paper weight after the OTA rolls out then Verizon did it on purpose right? You can't tell me they can't force the OTA to override the leaked version. I would think they would force all the phones to update to their version of the OS. Therefore, if my phone bricks after the OTA then they are just being jerks right?

Apr 15, 2014So recently I got lack of internal memory(it is only 512MB though) and I tried to swap internal memory with microSD(marked as sdcard2). However, Im noob in this and after changing the lines I understood, that I changed sdcard with sdcard2(swapped sdcard and sdcard2), however, my android system seems to be not working now. I can boot and access settings, but thats all. No menu, no apps, no anything. Empty screen, only settings accessible. I cannot access any files or anything...
What I tried:
- Connecting phone to PC as I have Android Commander program which can browse system files from pc, unfortunately, failed to connect.
- Factory reset. Didnt work.
- Recovery mode - tried all options that are available, didnt work.
The phone is Prestigio Multiphone PAP4300 DUO. When I boot to the phone, I unlock it and I get many messages saying com.android.phone, system and such things stopped working. When pressing HOME button, it goes to home, but its empty(empty screen) and tells Launcher stopped working too. All I can do is access the settings. Cant call anyone though.
What to say to warranty service when I will bring the phone to them. Can they recognize that its rooted/that the vold.fstab file is modified?

That looks to be white, but mine is black. I rooted it only. Havent done any changes to the phone until yesterday - swap the memories.

HTC Desire : Bricked My Phone With ROM Install - "android" Logo Shimmering Across Screen
Jul 28, 2010In a bit of panic here! I rooted my HTC Desire via unprovoked and installed ROM Manager (bought a license) and downloaded Opendesire from within this application. The ROM downloaded I did a backup and the phone is now in a continuous loop with the "android" logo shimmering across the screen.
I cant seem to get into recovery at all and the only way to power the phone off it to remove the battery! Has anyone got any ideas for me, I have been to the toilet 3 times in 30mins so far
HTC EVO 4G :: Bricked After Update / Way To Reflash?
Jul 9, 2010Been using my iPhone 4 for the past few weeks and finally broke the Evo back out to compare it for a few weeks. When I turned it on I got the notice for update so I did it thinking maybe it would help with the random reboot problem I had been having. Well after the update it sticks at the white HTC screen. I have tried all the basic fixes, held down volume/power, clear storage, recovery. When I clear storage it reboots and hangs at white screen again, if I do recovery I get a picture of a phone with a red triangle with a ! in it. Any way to re-flash the phone or something to get it working? I assume If i can get something on the little SD card but how do I do that when the phone won't work? I'd really like to not have to deal with getting it replaced.

Now, my phone is switched off since 15 days, when ever i try to switch it on, it vibrates once and nothing at all afterwards...if i press power button again, it won't vibrate, unless and untill i remove the battery and reinsert it in phone..
i see three red flashes of light, when connected to PC..
1. PC Companion for update, repair and custom repair is not working...most of the time phone is not detected..
2. SE-update service is also not working and phone is shown as Xperia arc..
3. Flashtool, doesn't recognize the handset
4. few, technician told me box flash would work, but again, it didn't work out
Now, i don't know much about this, but i do understand that hardware seems to be good, till now, the only issue is software and that to initial boot process i.e. bootloader.
is there any other way i can upload a new custom rom on my xperia ??
General :: How To Recover Bricked ZTE V9
Mar 9, 2012I have a [Gen2] ZTE v9 Tab which had 2.2 as the stock OS which I managed to get upgraded to 2.3 using modcore everything was gr8. I pushed my luck little further and tried to install Android ICS in order to do that I did a TPT using image file and after doing that my tab is bricked.
It's not booting into the OS I tried to get into the FTM mode but that doesn't work now only thing that work's is the ADB I tried the recovery methods that can be done through ADB but it says "sh:/sbin/recovery xxxx" missing.
What I think is that the system partition was recreated and Is there any way that I can get the system files on to the tab using ADB or a way to copy entire directory on to the tab using the ADB.
Got the system to boot to FTM but when I try to flash it the software fails and gives a error "Failed to Get aprmg x x x " some thing like that if there's a way to skip this I'll be able to get my tab back to working condition.
General :: Bricked HTC Explorer?
May 19, 2012I got an HTC Explorer around a month ago and quickly found out how useless it was with the miniscule amount internal storage HTC decided to provide me with. So I quickly found jaggyjags' rooting tutorial found here: http:[url]....
All went well and I was happy with the phone, until some of the apps started bloating and I went a little too far with link2sd and tried to convert the com.htc app into a user app, which ended disastrously. Pretty much every process failed or had an error, so I tried restarting the phone and found myself in a boot-loop.
I then succesfully got into HBOOT and then into recovery. So I decided to try installing jaggyjags' custom ROM. After taking out my SD card to connect to my computer and copy jaggyjags' rom to, I got back into HBOOT, but could not get into recovery anymore. All the phone did was get stuck on the HTC screen.
After leaving it on the screen to see if it would eventually make it to recovery, I discovered that the phone is now dead and won't even charge. I'm not sure if it's because the battery might be dead or some other reason.
