HTC Incredible :: Search For Contact From People List / Get Facebook Pictures On My Contacts?
Aug 11, 20101. How do I search for a contact from the people list? I don't want to have to scroll through all of them, but I don't see a search button other than the global search, and that does not seem to pull up contacts.
2. How do I get the facebook pictures on my contacts? I did the sync with Facebook, but it did not bring the pictures over, just the data.available in LauncherPro
HTC Incredible :: Cannot Search Music On Phone
Sep 7, 2010When I try to search through my phone via the search button (bottom right), everything but my music comes up. Contacts, apps, etc, but no music. have it set to search for music, but still no dice. the weird thing, is that things like "facebook_pop.mp3" will show up in my search results, just none of the mp3s I uploaded. If it matters, my music is stored on "phone storage" in a folder labeled "Music".

May 3, 2010On my incredible, the home, menu, back, and search notations on the body of the phone below the screen and above the trackball are not illuminated 95% of the time. If I am in the dark the notations are illuminated for a while, even when in a bright room. Then they go dark again.
Questions: Is there a setting I can adjust which can illuminate these notations all the time? Is this normal behavior?

Jan 5, 2010I was wondering if there was a way (or an contact app) that would allow for a more thorough search of the contacts. I just switched from a B-Berry and I had notes, or business names, tags or whatever with certain business contacts and I could find them by searching for that word, but this phone will not. Example a person who I could not remember his name, but he was a roofer, I could search for roof and find him.. also, the B-Berry would also pull up both peoples 1st and last names if they were the same eg a search for martin would pull up a person whose 1st name is Martin as well as anyone whose last name is Martin. I really liked this function, it was the same on an old Palm PDA that I had too...

You do a search for a name and get 2 or 3 contacts with the same name, you look at one but its not the one you wanted, you want to go back to the search results to look at the other option but you can't, it takes you back to all contacts, you are left cursing that you have to re-enter cuz now you are driving. What is a girl to do?

Aug 3, 2010The company directory is still not working in Android 2.2 at least on my EVO 4G. But the good news is that you dont need it to work. There is a better way. I kept thinking that Google was supposed to be the king of searching, so I could not accept the fact that you cannot atleast search by company name. After doing some digging I found out a way to find contacts by company name.Press the "+" sign next to "Phone" on your home screen then select "Widgets" next select "Google Search" then select "People" and place the search bar on your home screen. Now you can search your contacts by name, company, number, etc. You can select the contact and see the full contact info for that individual and dial the number from there. You can also have the search pull up related email, texts, etc. when you search for the individuals name.

Apr 22, 2010Whenever I want to send a text message to my friend Bob, i'll type "bob" in the recipients name and no phone number will come up even though he is stored in my contacts. However, whenever i want to send a text to Jill, I simply type "Jill" in the recipients box in the SMS and her phone number pops up. In order to send a text message to Bob, i have to go into Contacts-->Search-->Send text. It's more of a nuisance than anything else and was wondering if there was a remedy for it. I have tried re-programming the contacts information into the phone but the problem still exists.

Oct 10, 2010I just installed the latest DialerOne (1.2.7.1) from the Market and find that the new simultaneous search of the call log and contacts is annoying in that it places call log entries at the top of the list, and tapping on them brings up the call history for that contact instead of listing their numbers so you can choose one to dial. I don't see any way to turn this off.Am I missing something?It would seem natural to have the ability to limit the search to the screen presented (search only the call log when the call log is displayed, or search only the contacts when contacts are displayed), but I have Dialer One display the call log by default, so that I can quickly call a recently called contact, or just start dialing to search, so this wouldn't work for me either.I would much rather go back to the way it used to be. Of course, I figured I didn't need to backup the previous version because after all, what could change? Now I have this, and the coloring of the digits on the keypad is weird, even after adjusting it as much as possible.

It's a contact that I added on my phone, not on gmail on my computer. When I manually scroll down the contacts list, the contact is there. Jul 30, 2010I did a factory reset cause of a glitch and reinstalled everything through MyBackUp. I'm looking through my contacts and it seems like there are doubles, and even sometimes triple of people on my phone.
SOME, I've never put it but rather were created I think through my facebook account.
For EXAMPLE, some person I friended and now his email in my list twice, and one time with nothing, no email, no phone number, just asking if things like send to voicemail, etc...

Aug 19, 2010So back when I first got my phone I was putting in contacts the dumb way selecting "phone contact" rather than putting them in under my google account. I also have a bunch of contacts recovered from backup assistant. Since I am constantly flashing new roms it has come to my attention that there isn't always Verizon Back up Assistant support on them. Take for example CM6-RC3, I love the rom, totally and completely....except when I try and run Back Up, it says it isn't compatible with the program and recommends uninstall. So my specific inquiry to all the great rooted Dinc users out there is, is there an easy way to turn all those annoying "phone"/old non google contacts into google contacts without doing each one individually on my computer/phone?

Sep 16, 2010Last night, my HTC Incredible randomly locked up -- went totally black, wouldn't respond to anything. After a few tries, I was able to reboot, at which point the phone still seemed to be having trouble (plain black background, clock and weather cutting in and out). After another reboot or two, the phone began to function normally, but all of my contacts that were stored in the phone (as opposed to Google or FB for HTC sense contacts) were deleted. There were approximately 5 random contacts in my "People" section, all seemingly imported from Facebook. Pictures and text messages were still on the phone, but the text messages were only associated with the phone numbers, not with the names. Additionally, when I tried to make a phone call, I got a message that my phone was not authorized. After speaking with Verizon, my phone's calling capabilities were restored. I also used backup assistant to restore most of the contacts to my phone (though for some reason the last time they were backed up was approximately 2 years ago, so I have no numbers that I've gotten in the interim. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened to my phone, and whether there is any way to restore the contacts that I had before last night's crash? Also, is there any way to link all contacts with their Facebook profiles in one batch so that the pictures are matched up, or do I have to do this individually for each one using the "link" feature?
