I've finally fixed my contact to where they are all showing up on Google contacts.The weird thing is, the contacts who were Favorites (family, etc.) aren't showing up So I entered them manually in Google, synced my phone, but they still aren't showing up on my phone.

Every time I add a new contact it goes under "phone". I'd like it to go under "Google" where it would sync and be done with, but I also would like the current 6 I have under "Phone" to go to "Google".
View 2 Replies View Relatedim just wondering if im doing something wrong, i did the syncronization stuff in the settings and have forced contacts on the only thing i can think of is when i created the contacts on the phone there was a pull down box that said "google" or "phone".well i selected "phone", is this the problem? if so, how can i change it to 'google'? View 4 Replies View RelatedI haven't seen anything about the privacy implication for me as the recipient of the picture.I do not have a Google+ account. I have sync turned off for contacts because I think that Google has proven themselves too untrustworthy to have that information.
The only way I can see that the pictures get into my contacts is that on each incoming call the phone app takes the phone number in the incoming caller ID and queries Google to see if a picture is available. In the process, this gives Google a complete list of everyone calling me, an unacceptable privacy violation as far as I'm concerned.
Is there a way to disable it so that my incoming calls are not leaked to Google?
How come new contacts created on the phone are not showing up in my Gmail account online? Is there a way to keep everything synching in both directions? Most of my contacts are in Outlook, but I'm trying to use Gmail to keep things simple.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo back when I first got my phone I was putting in contacts the dumb way selecting "phone contact" rather than putting them in under my google account. I also have a bunch of contacts recovered from backup assistant. Since I am constantly flashing new roms it has come to my attention that there isn't always Verizon Back up Assistant support on them. Take for example CM6-RC3, I love the rom, totally and completely....except when I try and run Back Up, it says it isn't compatible with the program and recommends uninstall. So my specific inquiry to all the great rooted Dinc users out there is, is there an easy way to turn all those annoying "phone"/old non google contacts into google contacts without doing each one individually on my computer/phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have phone pulling down all my Google contacts that generally consist of name smile and number.The incredible also links these contacts with my Facebook and so adds info to these contacts such as additional numbers,birthdays etc etc.What I want is this additional contact info now on my phone to uploaded to Google.For example I have a Google calendar with peoples birthdays on it and I would like it to have all my contacts birthdays from favebook.I would have imagined this should happen automatically but alas it is not so.

Let me explain : When I go on PEOPLE I see my contacts there , if I click on them I cant see any phone number or mail nothing it just show me the contact name then under the name I see DETAILS then INFORMATION and down I can read ringtone and send to voicemail and then last Edit. Why is that? I dont think is normal and honestly makes me really depressed coz I cant call normally.

Only a fraction of my contacts are 'google' contacts - a lot are backed up through verizon or are stored on the phone. I think in the setup somewhere I chose to convert my contacts to Google contacts. That was really confusing at first, because I didn't know what it did, and didn't even remember I had done that until recently. I'd like to get the contacts back to phone contacts (not Google contacts) for multiple reasons, which I won't bother listing for now. I don't want to do the .csv backup and all that just sync all Phone and Google contacts to Google. 1. Disable contact sync (this works)
2. Change all contacts from Google contacts to phone contacts
3. Add new contacts as phone contacts by default.
Using the "Accounts and Sync" settings, I'm only able to deselect "Sync Contacts", but I can't find a way to move the contacts and disable the creation of new Google contacts.
how google accounts work. I got a phone previously owned by a family member and all his contacts are still in the phone. I was wondering if it is possible to delete all the contacts on the phone but not affect his google account contacts? Also, if i reformat the phone, will this delete all his google contacts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a HTC hero (Orange). With talks of android updates becoming available, there seems to be a mad rush to back up everything so that nothing is lost on the update. There are many ways of doing this, but one of the most common problems, is that people have their contacts saved as 'Phone' contacts and not 'Google' contacts. This means that they will not sync with Google mail. There was no contact export available to me (I think because my firmware was still 1.5).
This seems to be a solution that will solve the problem without having to write out every single contact number in Google mail.
1. Enter android market.
2. Search 'Contact sync'
3. Download/Install this application.
4. Run the application
5. All contacts will be turned from 'Phone' contacts to 'Google' Contacts
6. These contacts will then be synchronized with your Google mail
This means that if your contacts are lost on your phone at any point (eg. an update), they can easily be 'Exported' back to your phone through Google mail.
There are 1000 people trying to get their phone contacts to become google contacts, but i want my google contacts to become phone contacts so i can get them to sync to my windows contacts.

One shows total capacity of 6.59GB and the other is 7.39GB. I guess my question is: I think I understand that the 7.39GB one is the microSD card. It's getting full. It appears that everything gets stored there. My question is, why do I have a 6.59GB drive available that never seems to get used? Is the purpose to manually put MP3s and such on this instead of the microSD card? With 2.2 (SkyRaider ROM), can I move apps to this internal storage?
