View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm getting tired of waiting for the OTA froyo update when I can just root and use a leaked version. I was wondering what my best bet would be. I figure I will root with the unrevoked method since it seems straight forward. What should I use for changing roms, though? Clockworkmod looked good because the paid version allowed for updating to newer roms right off app without having to look for them... but from what I understand Titanium is the only way to transfer over your existing apps/contacts/etc to a new rom. I'm not too keen on having to reinstall ALL my apps and data... what does everyone here suggest?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI searched the Incredible forums and sub forums and could not find an answer to this question, though I am sure it has been asked: If I want to go from my stock 2 GB card to a new card, and I want to preserve data AND have all apps still be able to read whatever data they were reading off the card, do I just transfer the files from one card to the other? I bet the only thing I need to make sure of is that new card is formatted with the same file system as the original card, right? I know copying data from one card to the other will preserve data, but I want to make sure I have no problems with apps, either, after inserting the newer card.

What is the best way to transfer the data I want to keep, while not transferring data I don't need onto my new phone. My sd card seems to have a lot of files on it other than just my pictures and videos. I have titanium backup with all of my apps and data backed up. Should I only backup and restore user apps? Or I should I backup and restore user apps + system apps? My main concern is transferring things I don't need on my new phone. I don't want to clutter it up with useless files and data from old apps.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just pre-ordered the EVO yesterday. Since this is at Radio Shack, I am assuming that they won't be able to transfer the contacts from me pre to the EVO. Is this correct? I decided to go ahead and fix all my contacts on gmail anyway just in case. This gives me something to do while waiting for my EVO.... Will the Evo import all my contacts when I log into my gmail account and set it as my main sync account? What I am doing is this:
1. I installed the 'contacts to email' patch using preware and exported all my contacts as a vcard file. This is probably a good idea anyway. I don't completely trust "cloud" storage.
2. I sent myself the email and then imported this vcard file into gmail contacts. This resulted in about 350 contacts in gmail. I'm now working through them doing edits and combining duplicates. Is this the best way to prepare my contacts for the EVO?
Just have a quick question regarding the data on my phone. I am selling my phone tomorrow and I have a LOT of data on it which I need to transfer.
These are the things I wish to transfer-
-Contacts
-Old Messages and draft messages
-WiFi passwords
-Apps(lol obviously)
-App data
-Call logs
-Any other important things which I may have missed out.
I'm going to transfer my songs and videos manually via connecting my USB cable to the computer, I just don't want to mess up the other bits.

Additional info- My current phone is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (rooted) running ICS 4.0.4.

The contacts were transferred to my Evo from my old phone by a Best Buy rep at the time of my purchase if this matters...since I did not manually create them on my Evo.

Basically topic. I know the simplest way to do it would have been to Google Sync my contacts into my Gmail from my BB then sync them to the EVO, but unfortunately, I can't do that now. The SIM in my BB is out thanks to my number transfer so no data, and I didn't have Google Sync installed.
I have a little over 200 contacts in my BB, and as I'm sure you understand putting all of them in manually is near insanity. Anyone in the same boat as me? Any solutions to this or is a long night of manual contact switching in my future?

These photos were crops from larger photos so, stupidly in hindsight, I did not preserve any of them. I would like to copy all my contacts, complete with photos, to another phone. Copying the simple contact info is easy via the Gmail export/import procedure, but that does not copy the attached photos. Is there a simple way of copying contacts complete with photos?

The guy that did the transfer accidentally forgot to take my old phone back, so I now have my new one and my old one sitting in my lab.My old one doesn't work (deactivated), and the new one is activated. I'm going to return the old one tomorrow, but before I do, is there any way to get all the info on that one transferred to the new one? By that I mean apps, all my contacts, pictures, etc etc?
