HTC EVO 4G :: Tethering Vita PDANet
May 26, 2010I'm curious if anybody has tried tethering with PDANet? I'll be new to Android and not sure if PDANet works on the EVO but I thought I'd ask.

View 49 RepliesI know this is a noobtastic question, but I have to ask. I was at a crappy hotel the other night and I used PDAnet to check email and what not. If I use the VZW tethering do I have to pay for it? Is it a one time fee like PDAnet or is it a monthly fee? If I use PDAnet am I going to pay out the wazoo on my next bill?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need some help with tethering. I downloaded PDANET and not really sure how to use it. What I really want to do is use it for my XBOX 360. Also if I use tethering on my phone I know verizon wants you to pay for it. If I use this 3rd party application will it do anything to my account.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore the update from 1.5, I had no issues tethering my MacBook through my Droid Eris with PDANet. The phone function of the handset was the only operation that would interrupt the signal.
Since the update, my Eris interrupts my internet frequently, without apparent reason. It begins the annoying cycle of kicking me off the web, alerting me that the phone was not ejected properly, mounting, launching iPhoto (which I cannot prevent from happening), and then I have to exit PDANet and relaunch so I can reconnect. It's a juggling act! Sometimes this cycle will repeat five or six times before the phone and computer settle down.
I wanted to know if we had a Wired Tethering app, I have wireless but I am working on something and I need it to be wired. I'll post the video when I am done but I just can't see to find an app. (And pdaNEt wont work. It has to run by itself. I dont have a way to install software on the other computer.)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was at the airport this morn. New incredible, new HP laptop. Pdanet worked the night before when installed. But while working my computer shut down randomly restarted and said it was installing updates. When it came back to life and I tried to restart the tether pdanet said the android device does not have a connection. Indeed. Whenever Ian tendering is plugged in even the browser on the phone doesn't work and 3g icon goes away.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPdaNet has been one of the most popular software for Windows Mobile phones, Palm OS phones and the iPhone. It is now ported to the Android system! Unlike other tethering software that only supports Proxy connections, PdaNet provides you with FULL Internet access so all your email, instant message programs will work without any setting changes on the computer. Just like the old PdaNet, it is as simple as clicking on the PdaNet tray icon and your computer will go online instantly.

If I download the pdanet tethering app to my htc hero, will my ipod touch be able to work off my phone?
I know it's probably a stupid question but I am new to all of this.I know there is a free version and paid version of that app.....which should I get?
Does anyone know if PDAnet will work with the DROID?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm gonna try and revive the issue of the MTU settings.i can connect and play alright, but maybe, the MTU settings are preventing xbox live from downloading updates for games and system?anyone have a fix? workaround?
I'm on vista, connecting my xbox to the comp, and using internet connection sharing as usual, tethered to my G1.ive already tried changing the MTU settings via CMD console but it does nothing
Having given it much thought I decided against rooting until the updates are out and XDA have sorted out a new 2.1 root for us which meant Barnacle was out for me at present so I have just installed PdaNet on my phone and netbook.
OMG I'm so over excited by it. I am typing this on my netbook using my phone. Yeah so I need to get a life, but I am in de-mob happy mode and the thought that I may be able to use my phone for wifi whilst away has really pleased me. It couldn't have been more simple. Download on my netbook, (had already downloaded it from market on my phone) and follow the on screen instructions.
Anyway it seems to be working pretty well, so just wondered if anyone had had any negative effect using it other than it maybe using up battery power and eating into my 3 gig of data for the month?
I had been using (pdanet) for tethering just fine until this morning. VZW sent me an upgrade which I was stupid and did, I didn't know... Now my pdanet doesn't work anymore.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I update to 2.2, I would like to know if PDAnet works with Froyo? And if it does are there any differences as far as internet speeds? Right now I'm averaging down speeds of 2mbps and up speeds of .8mbps on 3G, I haven't tried on 4G yet since I'm not in a 4G area. This is really the only thing stopping me from updating.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I can't get PDAnet to work with the Incredible. When I am installing PDAnet to my laptop, and it asks me to plug my phone in, nothing happens. Actually, the phone asks me what type of connection I want (charging only, Disk Drive, etc).
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo over the 4th of July, while at the lake, I was able to stream a movie over Netflix to my laptop connected via free PDAnet, however, now (7/19/10) I went to do it again and it says internet connection error but all the other webpages load fine. Any idea what going on? Did Big Red block it somehow? I can navigate the Neflix site, but can't stream.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use my Droid Eris to connect my MacBook to the Internet. I'm plugged in, I turn on PdaNet on my phone, but when I try to connect from the computer end, It gives me the following error message:
"Fail to launch PdaNet background service 2, err=61"
I'm running Snow Leopard, but it did the same thing before I upgraded from OS 10.5.
Anyone else have this problem, it is really fucking annoying. Im trying to download a 4gig torrent and it seems if im not right here at the damn computer watching it, it will disconnect. If I leave for a while and come back the computer is disconnected from the internet. I have no Idea why it is doing this, all I have to do is hit connect and it connects again its not like I have to restart the program and everything for some reason it just keeps disconnecting after a period of time. Does it have something to do with it being the free version?

I can find my phone under devices but it has nothing listed under device function or bluetooth services. I was able to send my phone a file from my computer via bluetooth. View 12 Replies View Relatedare there some smarties here that can confirm that PDAnet is safe / secure and doesn't have spyware / adware type capabilities? The reason I ask is because i'll be using it to tether to my laptop. When installing on the laptop...certificate warnings pop up.. the same when installing on droid. (USB debugging warning comes up saying it has to be turned off) which basically means data can be transferred wherever.
