Today's my 4th day of using the phone. I just charged it while phone's on, from 1 bar of battery left. It only took 1 hour for the LCD light to go green? that doesn't sound right. Is that normal?

I've got a HTC Wildfire and in the last couple of days the battery has started draining really quickly. Usually I could leave my phone overnight with wifi and mobile web etc switched off and the battery would drain by a maximum of a couple of percent but now it's losing 25% of its charge overnight with nothing running. Looking at the battery usages since unplugged 3% is phone idle, 4% cell standby and 93% maps!! I haven't even used the maps for a couple of days so what could be causing this? The only apps I've downloaded in the last couple of days are WordUp!, Air Control Lite and Shopping List manager.
View 7 Replies View RelatedGot my Desire HD at the weekend, and am really struggling with the battery life, I don't use the phone much at all, couple of calls (less than an hour) checked facebook a couple of times, a read about 5 emails. Charged overnight and then by 9pm last night it was on its last legs telling me to plug it in! I have turned the apps to sync manually under settings-accounts & sync. Already used nearly 50% off the battery today and I haven't even used the phone!

- The battery is draining wicked fast.
- The phone is ridiculously hot like the radio is working overtime.
- And the screen is so sensitive that when swiping home screens the damn thing tries to go back, or skips a screen. In the browser if I scroll up or down with just one finger it tends to try to pinch zoom. And on the home screen when trying to press and hold an app it double clicks and opens it. The on screen keyboard many times just blips out when swyping trying to type one word and it ends up being 4-5.
So I tried turning the phone off and back on. No difference. Did the OTA update. No difference. I didn't even install any apps yet. But I did remove everything from my home screens to hopefully fix the battery life. No difference. I like the keyboard (miles ahead of the D1) and the fact swype comes stock, if it would only work correctly. Does every droid 2 have these problems? Are they all hot all the time? Are they all super sensitive? Are they all sucking battery at a phenomenal rate?
I've been getting pretty good battery life (about 14-16 hours on average) when I use the airplane mode trick and kill the Media Hub service. However, my phone has not been able to sleep since the past 2 days and the battery is draining quickly.
The up time indicates that the phone cannot go to sleep. I'm just surprised because I haven't changed any of my phone settings so I don't know why this is happening. I uninstalled the last app that I downloaded and that didn't help.
Should I try doing a hard reset? Are there any apps that will specifically tell me what is keeping the phone awake?
Curious anyone's thoughts on letting a battery completely drain, before charging VS pluggin it in every night, whether its low or not? Does it develop a "memory", and thereby cut the usable charge down?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is my first smart phone so I'm somewhat of a noob.However recently when I have been checking what has been using my battery the most to try and conserve some battery.My GPS is always off unless I need it and I have not even used Maps at all today. After about 8 hours of being unplugged I was down to about 30% battery life.

I accidently turned privacy on to lattitude and my battery was draining even though GPS was off. Lattitude will find you through tower location whcih uses cellular power! Much better this morning when I turned this feature off. In fact google sent me an email letting me know I forgot to turn it off.

Haven't installed any recent apps so I don't know what is doing it. I installed systempanel lite but I think i have to buy the paid version to get it to monitor it. is that correct?

I hate the fact that when i use my camera, or camcorder and send an mms or simply save a picture, that it goes back to the camera. I hit the back button, home button, etc. and of course the camera goes away. I know the OS knows that the camera is in the background now, not utilizing CPU, therefore not using up MAH, but I'm OCD about it running, not sure why. The only 2 apps i kill when i'm done are google maps, and camera. I just dont want them running in the background even though they dont have "focus" and will not be drawing any power. There are some apps that come with an exit button, which is fine with me, even though it doesn't actually close the app, and i only use ATK when something is funky on the phone and not giving me what i want, but are you guys the same way as me, or am i the only one that force kills some of the more batt. draining apps ?
View 40 Replies View RelatedJust installed SkyRaider 2.5.2 yesterday and radio 2.15. Using Launcher Pro+ and updated the notification bar to have the circle indicator. The charge took almost five hours. (Which I see is a common thing). However, when I unplugged my phone from charging this morning (9+ Hour charge) the battery went from 100% to 93% in about five minutes. It seems like I am losing 1% every minute or so until I reach 93%. Then it kind of stays steady. CPU clock is running constantly at 600 MHz+.

I did Advance Task Killer-killed all Apps-I pick the phone up 5 minutes later and nearly all of my applications are running. I did NOT start them-some of them are like BBC News, Fox News ETC. I do not want them to be running like that. Not sure why they are starting up.

I stopped yesterday at the Verizon store and got the 2150 Battery-it is also draining quickly. I guess the Seido battery was not the problem. The battery was fully charged before I left yesterday, but it was drained completely after being off the charger for only 16 hours..5 of them I was sleeping. I do not have the GPS on...etc..None of my setting on my phone changed. I am not sure why the battery is draining so rapidly.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi bought the full version of systempanel last night, because i installed setcpu and tasker over the weekend and started overclocking - i wanted to try the monitoring service and try to see if there was a drastic effect on my battery... well, the battery DEFINITELY seems to be draining faster than it did yesterday, and the phone seemed to be very choppy when switching between home screens. i disabled monitoring and it seems to be more responsive again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust yesterday my phone was getting more than 14+ hours of battery. Now it's draining really quickly even when I'm not using it (I left it on while I was asleep). It's not facebook because I already downloading the fix and rebooted. My "time without signal" is 0% so I don't think that's the problem. I did download Quickpedia yesterday but a quick search tells me that's not the problem either.
The only other thing I did differently was switch from ADW to LauncherPro yesterday, but if that was draining the battery wouldn't it be under Android System and not standby or idle? Regardless, I switched back to ADW just to see if that works
I updated my phone 2 days ago. Ever since then, I noticed that my phone takes a ridiculous amount of time to charge. 8 hours to get it to 85%??? Even all night it it didn't manage to get to 100%. It's only been 3 hours since I unplugged the phone and I'm at 35% battery.
I've tried a restart, reboot (battery pull) and even factory reset! Nothing is working.
I have another issue too that may or may not be related to this issue regarding hidden photos..
i woke up this morning to find that my inc was pretty hot (left plugged in overnight to charge), and had not charged much (it only got to ~60% starting from 30ish). it also had the overheating warning blinking lights (alternate green and amber) going. i unplugged the phone and the blinking lights stopped and it cooled back down. when it was hot BatteryLeft was reporting 45C, right now it feels normal and reports 31.5C.should i be worried? all i did was plug it in and leave it on my desk like i normally do when charging, this is the first time it's ever done this for me.

Even after leaving it plugged in overnight, the next morning I was still at less than half charge, going only by the Settings>About Phone>Battery>Battery Level graphical display. Last night same thing, whether the phone was on or off, still a yellow charge light. Today for the first time since I got the phone, the battery indicator itself turned yellow towards the end of the day.Preemptive facts:Prior to starting a new thread, I did a thorough search and found nothing related to this specific battery issue.I have the OEM, red, HTC battery, and have never charged it outside of the phone, or with any charging cable other than the one supplied with the phone.When I first received the phone, I charged it fully, unplugged, and bumped charged before turning it on. For about a week afterward I would charge to green while on, unplug, turn off, and "bump charge". I have never had trouble getting through the day on a single charge, and no, I don't think I was training a lithium ion battery, I believed I may have been training the software of the phone itself.I have tried charging the phone fully both on and off, and have not seen green for over two days. This includes continuous charging for over 10 hours.I have had the phone for roughly seven weeks.The phone does charge- just now I have gone from @25% (as measured on the aforementioned graphical display) to @40%, but at that point it seems to no longer charge, although the "Battery State" says "Charging AC" and the little battery icon shows the charging animation.Have I got a dead battery, or am I missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently noticed my Incredible 2 was only showing the battery life to be 50% after charging it overnight. I switched AC chargers and the problem continued. So I figured the battery was done, for whatever reason, and I ordered a replacement battery from Verizon directly. The replacement battery also only charged to 50% after a full night's charge. So...it's probably an issue with the phone itself. I have Total Equipment Coverage but getting a new phone's a hassle and I like my Incredible 2 (not guaranteed to get another I imagine). I figure it might be the phone's "charging circuitry"...is that easily repairable? I need to have a fully-charging phone in a week or so...

I've been monitoring battery with the ap BatteryLeft. At 100%, it is saying my battery gets 17.5 hours which seems pretty bad. What about everyone else? I've seen threads in terms of %, but hours would really be more helpful.

I don't do anything to the phone to cause this, but would love to know why it's happening if anyone knows.
