Is there a way to assign this to the menu button?
does anyone know if its possible or what app would be used to have the optical button work the same as the power button on the top of the phone. so if you push the button it would light the display up. or maybe its not even possible.

For calendar, I've tried to remove it directly from the android source, but it could not boot.
Did any one experience working on this?
I have two questions being a relatively new Incredible owner (2.5 weeks). I wanted to know the best way to assign my own mp3/wav as a Notification sound. I know how to do it for the ringtones, but I don't see a way to add new notifications.
The other question is if there is a way to assign a different notification sound to emails and texts independently, i.e. a different sound for email than for texts.
Can I assign an app to the double click of optical joystick? (kinda like iPhone favorites). Also, is there a way to replace the default dialer app with another app? i.e. when I click "Phone" on the home screen, is there a way to bring up a different dialer app?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn Android I can assign a preferred phone number for a contact.I would like to set a preferred contact for a phone number. If I get called and the number was added to multiple contacts (which is correct for my case), I would like to set another contact as the preferred contact when the number calls again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI really love my Incredible, and have found many of the bugs are due to me still learning the system and it's apps. However, the one thing that BUGS THE HECK out of me is the unlock procedure. I hate grabbing the phone, adjusting my grip to hit the (power/unlock) button, readjusting my grip, then sliding the screen lock. Is there any way to use the optical joystick button to initiate the unlock procedure, as I think this would make using the phone SO much more enjoyable. I don't like fumbling with the device everytime I use it, MAKE IT EASIER HTC! Anyway, what are you're thoughts on this issue?
View 49 Replies View RelatedWith Facebook integration and having tons of peoples phone numbers at hand in the Phone button, I really really would feel more comfortable if it would prompt me after clicking on a name. The touch is is super sensitive and even scrolling through, I accidentally called people I haven't talked to in years.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am an iPhone user seriously considering switching to the Incredible as the Android platform has matured and I am sick of Apple's "Walled Garden". My one big question is actually a Sense UI question. If I enable Google Voice to "take over" phone calls on the phone (this is possible, correct? It could be done on the Motorola Droid). Will the HTC Phone app that is launched from the phone button at the bottom of the home screen use Google Voice to make my calls, or will I have to launch the Google Voice app to get that functionality (logging calls, correct number on caller ID, etc)?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've transfered ringtones from my PC to the Droid X, but can't for the life of me figure out how to assign a particular ringtone to a particular contact. I've read some of the threads about other models of phones but the solutions there don't work with the X.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to wake the phone by pressing the trackpad button. (like the iPhone's home button, just converted ) I've looked around and can't seem to find a way to set this. I tried the "lockbot" app someone had recommended but it did more then i wanted and still didn't seem to enable that button to wake the phone. Any ideas?
View 49 Replies View RelatedThe one thing which I hate about Sense is the ridiculous swipe to answer feature when the phone is locked, I found Easy Answer Button and My Phone Tools. I used both but with limited success. It seems that with either one of those apps installed, I would constantly miss calls. The phone simply wouldn't ring and/or vibrate. I have my phone set to ring and vibrate when I receive calls. When using My Phone Tools, the first few seconds of the ringtone would play, and then it would be stop abruptly. With Easy Answer Button, the results were even worse: I would receive a call and the phone would not ring or vibrate. Of course, this didn't happen every time I received a call. But, when using these apps, a day didn't go by where I didn't miss a call because my phone simply didn't ring.
For those Incredible owners who have used either one of these apps, I'm wondering about your experience with them. Have you experience a similar problem with your phone not ringing/vibrating? I'm trying to determine whether or not it's just me or another app I have installed on my phone. It's been a day since I uninstalled Easy Answer Button and I have yet to miss a call. This leads me to believe that it's one of those two apps. Also, are there any other apps out there with a similar functionality? I'm currently running stock 2.2 (rooted, s-off), and not too interested in running stock vanilla. But I am wondering what other options to the slide to answer feature are out there.
I would gladly pay money (and i'm sure a lot of eris -> incredible users would too) for an app/patch to give me the option to use an alternative key/button (menu/home button, or even vol rocker?) to wake up the phone when it's in sleep mode. It was one of the major reasons why I ended up returning the moto droid for an eris (the eris has a power button on the bottom of the phone). Would root be required for this kind of mod?

View 11 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of any way to get the Incredible to wake up by pressing the optical trac-pad on the front instead of the power button up top?
I find the power button to be annoying and wish both would "wake-up" the screen.
I am coming from a blackberry..and this is my first Android phone..the Incredible..
I made a mp3 as my text message tone...its only 6 or 7 seconds long..but, the problem I am encountering is that when my phone is idle and my text message tone goes off upon receipt of a new text...I am finding myself using the unlock button to awaken the phone..swiping my finger on the screen to unlock the phone, and then going to the message icon to FINALLY disable the text message tone from continuing.
Is there a way for the phone to recognize that I am touching it, using the lock button on top of the phone or the volume keys..or SOMETHING other than having to actually wake, unlock, and enter the message area?
Is there anyway that I can set up my Incredible to use the button where the optical trackpad is to power the screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to use the optical mouse to wake my phone up as opposed to using the top button?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with the touchscreen. After the phone wakes, the home button will be phantomly held. The app switcher will keep coming up, apps will randomly close (as in the home button being pressed). Swype confirms that there's a held input at the home button. Sometimes the lockscreen won't unlock (screen won't register, probably because the home button phantom press is overriding other input). I've tried this without the charger, in and out of my hand. Using stock battery, OEM charger. Also tried on official Verizon stock 2.2, cyanogenmod, fourth wave, and virtuous.

I use profile and find it a little too in depth. I want something simple. I also think there may be a gremlin or two as I have found my settings changed without my doing anything.
