HTC Incredible :: Activating Phone On Closest Server?

Aug 21, 2010

I have root using unrEVOked3, running CM6, stock kernel, then did unrEVOked Forever and the radio update (2.15) I noticed that my 3G is getting me like 200kbps, horrible, right? I thought maybe *228 would fix the problem. I noticed that the speedtest app was saying a server in Tacoma was the closest to me (2.8 mi) when really, I'm just south of Portland. When I try to do *228, I get a phone activation screen with no keypad on it. It says "Please wait while you phone is being programmed." and wants me to push 1 or 2, but since there is no keypad, this becomes impossible. If I back out to my app drawer and select Phone again, it brings up 3 options. One of them is to see the keypad. When I hit that, it just takes me back to the activation screen. I can't find a way to push a button. Long pressed menu, got keyboard.

HTC Incredible :: Activating DINC Without CSR?

Aug 11, 2010

So I finallly talked the wife into a DINC from her old Samsung slider. I let her play with mine a bit (my PHONE! get your mind out of the gutter) and she went monday and ordered it from our local Verizon store. FedEx left a call tag today and I'm about to run out to our local hub and pick it up for her (2 day delivery !) Anyhow - the CSR at the Verizon store said "when you get your phone - make an appointment with me and I'll activate for you". We're leaving tomorrow for a short trip - and I really don't feel like postponing it for a couple hours just to get a phone activated. Are we able to activate these ourselves? When I got mine - I left the store for an hour or two and when I came back I was all set to go.

General :: Activating Rooted Phone?

Oct 19, 2013

I am about to go to Verizon and hook up a new line and give it to a friend. I of course am going to get the new phone and I am going to give her my current Brand new Galaxy S3, which is only like 2 weeks old (2 weeks and 1 day to be exact). and I am just gonna hook myself up on the new line and give her mine. My question is, can you hook up phones that are rooted/Rom'd. I believe you can, cause I hooked up my buddies phone temporarily a week or so ago, and it was a LG Revo with the Gingervolt ROM on it. and they gave me a new SIM card, hooked it up and i was ready to go. So I don't think their should be an issue.

and yes I know this has been discussed over and over, but Galaxy Note 3 or LG G2 ? They are both amazing. But I want the one that has the best Dev work on it. and I do like the size of the Note 3. But I heard the LG G2 has a bit of a better camera, but I am not a huge photo taker, mostly just at parties, and when I am playing shows with my band I will have my GF take pics with my S3, and they turn out perfect. so I don't think that's a deal breaker for me.

Android :: Closest Thing To Blackberry Messenger?

Nov 20, 2009

I accept the fact that I can't install Blackberry Messenger on my Droid. This was a very handy app on my Blackberry because it was more instant than a text message (and free which is handy for my BB friends without free texting), and you didn't have to be "logged on" to get a message. I asked the Verizon rep (who's only complaint when he switched to the Droid), and he said Google Talk did the same thing. I installed it and told one of my BB buddies to do the same, but you need to be logged in to get messages. Is Google Talk my best bet or is there something better?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Activating Phone - Unable To Drag Down Status Bar

Oct 12, 2010

I've had my X10i for a month now and have added several apps from the Marketplace. I am Orange in the UK and have also had the new shared settings for using the phone on the T-Mobile Network. Earlier I received some text messages and a missed call but was unable to drag the status bar down to check who they were from. I switched off phone and re-started but have found that the "Activating Phone" icon kicks in before I can complete my Sim lock number and press ok. The phone just wants to stay in the "Activating Phone" mode but doesn't start up properly. If I enter the pin correctly and press ok Very quickly I can start the phone ok.

HTC EVO 4G :: Activating From BB On Another Line

Jun 1, 2010

I'm going to be giving my dad my old phone and using his upgrade. However, he is going to be out of town all next week. The way I understand it is that if I preorder the Evo, I have to pick it up within a certain amount of time... so I can't just wait until he gets back to go pick it up and activate it. If I activate it on his line, deactivate it, activate it on MY line, REactivate his old cell phone on HIS line, and then finally activate my old (current) cell phone on his line when he gets home... am I going to have to pay a billion activation fees? Or am I just going to have to not preorder, wait to buy my Evo until he gets back... and risk tons of backorders?

General :: Activating Camera On Bluestacks

Apr 15, 2013

I did search in regards to activating the camera on Bluestacks but failing to do so.

What I am trying to do: Use my camera on my laptop on apps, such as Instagram, Whatsapp.

What I have done: I tried to use the camera on Bluestacks apps, but all I got is a black screen. Read the forums and changed the camera registry to 1, still the same problem even after restarting the app and computer.

Is there a way to maybe change the source of the camera to direct it to my default camera?

Or if there is something wrong with the default camera, I have an external USB camera as well. Could I re-route and get Bluestack to select that camera instead? There is a front and back camera, maybe that can be done?

HTC Incredible :: Emails Deleted From POP Server

May 7, 2010

I just noticed for the past few days, my Incredible has been deleting my email off of my pop server account after I delete it (from Trash) out of the phone. Before you say anything, I have "Delete Email on Server" unchecked from the settings. So I checked it, shut off the phone, unchecked it and then sent a few test emails.

With it checked, it does delete my email after I delete it off of the phone - obviously. Unchecking it, sending test email and deleting it still deletes If off my POP Server. I am a little frustrated because I realized about 4 days of emails have been deleted, although I have copies of them on one computer. I know it didn't do this out of the box, only recently.

Motorola Droid :: Activating Service After Root

Aug 10, 2010

I'm extremely new at this, and I seem to have run into a problem that I cannot find a solution for from searching. To be honest, I registered this account to ask this question because right now I'm a bit frantic to get my Motorola Droid back working (Verizon service). This afternoon I attempted to root my phone, and everything seemed to be going according to plan. Right after my phone finished flashing the rooted 2.1 ROM, it rebooted and the original setup appeared on the screen.

I followed the instructions as it asked and tried to activate my phone. I pressed the little green android, and proceeded to call the Verizon number and I press 1 to activate my phone for service. Once the whole process was finished, it told me that my phone had finish being programed. When I pressed the "Next" button in the bottom right corner, I was taken back to the first setup screen which informed me that I need to activate again. Needless to say, I'm now stuck in an infinite loop of this and can't figure out what to do. I've left the phone with full bars for over an hour to try to get the service to activate with no luck. At this point, I just really want to be able to use my phone as a phone again!
