View 5 RepliesHas anyone else noticed that when they turn WiFi on through the widget (either android or motorola one) it doesn't always actually turn on wireless?
I usually have to go to WiFi settings and then once I do that it connects to my router. This will keep happening until I restart the phone and then the widget will work another 1-2 times and then I'll have to go into the settings menu until I restart again.
Unrelated: Has anyone else had their 3G dropout today or is it just me? I'm in the northeast.
Whenever I am on a WiFi network, I keep my 3G mobile network on. Mainly for visual voicemail purposes. So, does that mean that I am wasting my battery by having it on?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have had this problem ever since I received my preordered Dinc. I can successfully connect to the internet via wifi anywhere but at my place of employment (very frustrating). The Dinc sees and connects to the wifi but when I open the browser the following pop up window appears: Security warning
There are problems with the security certificate for this site. This certificate is not from a trusted authority? I then have a choice to continue, view certificate, or cancel. When I view the certificate it states the organization, The Go Daddy Group Inc, unit, Go Daddy Class 2 Certification Authority and validity:.................
I have a stock inc and for some reason it won't connect to my home WiFi network. It will connect to other wifi networks. I turned off WEP just to take that variable out of it. No idea what the problem is. I have also hard reset it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince the 2.2 update if I leave Wifi enabled and leave the connection area, 3G does not turn back on and I'm left with no data connection at all. Only way I can fix it is to restart the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't own an Android 4.3 tablet yet but I need to know the following things.I wanted to restrict my device so that a user is unable to change any settings (in particular turn on/off WiFi) and disable all applications except one.How strict is the restriction?
If I disable all apps except one what will the restricted user be able to do?
In an ideal scenario I'd like the restricted user to do only 3 things:
a) turn the tablet on/off
b) turn the application of my choosing on/off
c) all other options would be disabled
d) the restricted user should NOT see any data of the administrator
phones worked good other then gps issue. recently after iv had the phone for 30 days it just stopped scanning for wifi access and wont turn on wifi at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe'll this is a deal breaker for me, after being pretty happy with the RUU update and the speed improvement it brought to the stock music player. When using the turn by turn navigation, every time the voice comes in the player puts itself on pause. After the instruction is over it remains paused instead of resuming. Then I have to manually hit play again to resume playback. This is a big deal while driving since I don't want to be fidgeting with my phone every couple seconds. This was not an issue with 2.1 , since as soon as the turn by turn instruction was gone the music would automatically resume.

View 2 Replies View Relatedin Virtuous Rom 3.1 the Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation voice doesn't work...instead of speaking the directions, the voice rambles on about XML versions and a random website in a slow-motion voice. I'm shocked that I can't find any information at all about this on XDA or here.Does this happen to anyone else who uses Virtuous Rom 3.1? I tried to contact RMK via XDA PM but he hasn't responded yet, sent last night. I would really like a fix for this, Google maps navigation is fantastic.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, something happened, my phone's battery died, and as usual,I just switched in a new battery, turned it on, it went to the splash screen, the glowing S.and then turned off.I tried to charge the phone, that didn't work.I thought the battery might just be dead, so I charged it over night, but nope. After I put a battery in, it does it's usual swoooshhh noise, turns on, S glows, then turns off. Then it won't turn on again until I take out the battery, put it back in, after which I turn on and the same thing again. Just for more information, the screen sticks on the glowing S for a reallllyyy long time, and it doesn't go through the "Turning off" animation anymore either. What's weird is I didn't even do anything at all with it this past week, other than play Angry Birds, call/text some people, and use the alarm on it.No idea what went wrong at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a sim free Hero on 3UK that I recently upgraded to 2.1. Since doing so, I have noticed that the data turns itself on every so often.I normally use the htc widget to turn on/off the mobile data as I don't use it while at work/at home. Occaisionally, I notice that it is switched on and when I try to switch it back off, it restarts itself. I've noticed this on quite a few days now over the last couple of weeks and once it starts doing it, I can't stop it.I can only think it is down to either some app that I have installed or the synch settings, but I have checked for running processes and killed anything that looks like one of my apps.I don't really know what else to do to stop it. Has anyone got any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use the y5 app to turn on my wifi when I get home. I thought it would also turn off my wifi when I left, but when I was in the mall, I got a notification that "wifi was avalable" and I saw the wifi icon was on.
Am I missing something here, or does y5 not turn off your wifi and just log it on when you tell it to?
New Swype wont let you turn off vibrate on keypress? Just downloaded the newest version, (1.56.30.7625.t100) and the setting is listed, but you cannot press it, it is "Dimmed". I am an official Beta tester, and got my version from them, through E-mail. I didn't steal the .apk
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Droid X recently dropped to a low enough battery level that it powered off by itself. I plugged it into a wall charger almost immediately, but since then it has been unable to power on.Now the green light indicator comes on steady, turns off, and then the Motorola symbol comes up and then goes away, and then the green light turns on again. Its been charging for about 45 minutes and I'm starting to get a bit worried. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my nexus 7. A couple of days ago the wifi connection simply stopped working. I just could not turn it on. The wifi icon did not get blue, like it should when it's turned on, and it wouldnt even search for available networks.
So, i thought this might be caused by some bug or software problem and decided to do a factory reset on my nexus 7. The problem is, that did not solve the wifi problem and now i can't even use my device anymore, as it requires a connection for setup.
Does that mean that the problem is caused by hardware malfunction? I'm not very experienced with all the android hacking or installing a CFW, or whatever.
Is there any app so that I can turn off wifi for some apps like for example today I don't want to get disturbed on whatsapp so I turn the wifi connection off for that app but I still want to use wifi for other stuff like games or reddit.
View 1 Replies View Relatedsince I have rooted my device (iMiTo AM801 running Android Gingerbread 2.3.1) I'm not anymore able to power off it properly. After pressing for some seconds the power button and after I confirm the message asking if I want to power off the device, it never actually turns off and I need to press the reset button. The problem is that quite often the reset button restart the device! after I start the procedure for normal turn off (pressing the power button for some seconds, and answering the confirmation message) in the background I see a a message appearing just in the bottom toolbar of Android, but I cannot see what is says as the power off message is a modal window.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow do I programmatically turn on/off WIFI?
Currently I'm having something like this:
CODE:..........
Where _iWifi is a button instant (of course...)
Now, the problem is that it tells me there is a Security Exception occurred, I guess I have no permission to access this.
I'm sure a firmware key is not needed in this case (unlike my previous question regarding reboot action), so what is the proper way of doing this?
I accidentally activated my wifi through the notification bar. As soon as it was activated, i simply tapped it again to shut it down, however, it failed to do so. All that happened was that the wifi had a blue color and off in the bottom. I tried turning it off through the power setting widget, it says that updating wifi. It was stuck like that until i restarted the phone.
