HTC Incredible :: 30 Day Return Policy Implemented?
May 22, 2010
Are we allowed to return 30 days from the day we ordered the phone, or 30 days from when we received the phone? (april 19th and april 28th for me). If the droid 2 is coming out with similar specs and a keyboard i think i want that.

My current contract expires with Cincinnati Bell tomorrow. I want to get the Incredible but I don't want to keep my current carrier for another month. I was thinking that I could just pickup the Motorola Droid from Best But for 19.99 and return it later when the Incredible was in stock. Do they have the 30 return like the Verizon store? Also Walmart has them for the same price so does anyone know their return policy?

If I need to return my phone before the 30 days are up and they are out of stock, will they still honor the return policy and just call you when they have one available or will you have to stick with the phone that you have?

I know that we have the option of purchasing an app and supposedly if you uninstall the app within 24hrs u will not be charged. However there are some apps that I would love to try like the keyboard apps and find what best suits me and return the others. So my question is has anybody done this and did you receive only charges for the ones you kept when your bill came? I had a friend who had left his phone with his girlfriend for a day and when he got his bill he was getting charged for game he did not order or ever play so it was a hassle (3hrs on the phone with sprint) to get the charges dropped as they were recurring charges every month, he dint have a problem with paying the initial download as that was his fault for leaving his phone with his girlfriend.

I bought the eris almost a month ago so my 30 day return policy is getting close. I like the eris a lot, mostly because of it's size and the senseUI, but a part of me yearns for the larger, sharper display of the moto droid. Now, I've noticed my eris is starting to chug slowly to do things like typing, changing apps and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm running a bunch of stuff at once or what, but its making me feel like I'd rather have the powerful processor of the droid as well.But, what if I get the droid and decide that I liked the eris better. Will I be stuck with the droid or can I return it and go back to the eris? I guess what I'm really looking for is an explanation of verizon's return policy and perhaps some feedback from those of you who switched from eris to droid.

Has anyone had any experience with a personal article policy rather than the 7.99 a month insurance through asurion and verizon? A co-worker of mine pays 7 dollars a year with no deductible and tells me they cover full retail value replacement cost.

Right now, I am running 2.05.00.06.11 baseband radio with SkyRaider 2.5.2 HTC Sense. I am looking to use the unRevoked forever to allow my phone to have S-OFF and permit me to update the baseband radio to 2.15.00.07.28. My question is, should I happen to need to take my phone in for repair, will it be tough to go back to factory?As some of you may know, the good folks that designed unRevoked now have an S-ON tool that will allow you to turn S-ON. I know that I could do that, put my original setup back one (2.1update1) and remove root. But what about that radio baseband?

Verizon's normal return policy is 30 days from date of purchase. Say you pre-ordered the Incredible online on April 19. Does that mean you have 30 days from April 19 to return the phone, or 30 days from the date it was shipped, or 30 days from the date you received it? Anybody know? Also, does Verizon actually have to have received the phone within 30 days for it to count as a valid return, or do you merely have to have shipped it back to Verizon within 30 days (and perhaps they receive it 31 or 32 days after purchase)?

I'm liking Virtuous, but I much prefer the stock battery widget which just shows a qualitative, graphical battery level. Being aware of the instantaneous percentage of remaining battery at all times makes me properly crazy.

Beginning Android Games
Now this book implements a very nice and simple game framework which I use (a simpler version can be found here.The Android Game Framework: Part I - Kilobolt
Now this framework doesn't use any type of XML file what so ever, it uses a framebuffer to draw things onto the screen. now when the application is first started, this is the first method called which is in the AndroidGame.java

@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);

I've got my ALL notifications turned on for my IMAP email account (which is set to check email every 5 minutes).
That means I should hear a notification tone, I should feel a notification vibration -- and I should see the notification light.
Absolutely none of those things are happening. When my phone is sleeping -- I get no light, no audible tone and no vibration.
It very well may be operator error on my part -- but this phone is going back if this isn't resolved.

I've been looking around in the framework source and I can get my head around some things. For instance, in the ScrollView, the animated scrolling is done by using computeScroll(). To make the screen redraw (and thus call computeScroll() again), postInvalidate() is used. Why is that one used, instead of a regular invalidate-call?
Secondly, I wonder some things about the Animation framework. I know how a ViewGroup is responsible for animating the children (modifying the Canvas and so on), but what drives the animation, i.e. what makes the screen redraw over and over again? In the case of the ScrollView, it's the call to postInvalidate() made from computeScroll(), but what is it in the case of an Animation?

I am having a heck of a time getting any pictures and many downloaded wallpapers to show up on my HTC Incredible. After I set the picture or whatever and crop it, I return to the home screen and the Colorful Bubble HTC Wallpaper always shows up instead, only the live wallpaper really works all the time. Anyone else have the same problem or know a solution?

I notice in the source code they are not used in critical loops, e.g. in View.java :
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/frameworks/base.git;a=blob;...
I can see this kind of code which would be much easier implemented as an ArrayList :
1867 private void addInArray(View child, int index) { 1868 View[] children = mChildren;
1869 final int count = mChildrenCount;
1870 final int size = children.length;
1871 if (index == count) { 1872 if (size == count) { 1873 mChildren = new View[size + ARRAY_CAPACITY_INCREMENT];
1874 System.arraycopy(children, 0, mChildren, 0, size);
1875 children = mChildren;
1876 } 1877 children[mChildrenCount++] = child;
1878 } else if (index < count) { 1879 if (size == count) { 1880 mChildren = new View[size + ARRAY_CAPACITY_INCREMENT];
1881 System.arraycopy(children, 0, mChildren, 0, index);
1882 System.arraycopy(children, index, mChildren, index + 1, count - index);
1883 children = mChildren; 1884 } else { 1885 System.arraycopy(children, index, children, index + 1, count - index);
1886 } 1887 children[index] = child;
1888 mChildrenCount++;
1889 } else { 1890 throw new IndexOutOfBoundsException("index=" + index + " count=" + count);
1891 } 1892 };

Is it possible to build a spreadsheet-like grid? I would like to select single cells, or one row at a time,like a database viewer.
Or would it need to be implemented at the framework level?
I'm thinking of a UI equivalent of something like this AJAX control, which may be opened in the WebView: http://www.hisdigital.com/misc/flexigrid/.

I want to add one more endpoint audio device in android and am trying to modify the setRouting() functions to support the selection of the new added audio device. As far I traced, the doRouting() in class AudioHardwareOss should perform the audio endpoint device selection. However, donRouting() just returns NO_ERROR without any other functionalities. So, my question is where and how endpoint audio device selection is achieved.

I have an application that has a tabActivity and 3 tabs. all off the tabs use a location listener and work with locations. i implement onPause and onResume for every tab to remove and start listening for location accordingly. is this the right way to go? i had another idea to work with and that was implementing a location listener to the tabActivity and doing broadcasts to the child tabs with the location, but it seemed more complicated.
The problem with my current solution is that whenever i switch tab i lose the location i got in the previous and i cant use getlastknown location because i dont want the last location on start of the application.(does this make sense?) what can i do to solve this problem. a thing that will work better will be to have one variable that will hold the last location from the onLocationChanged and i can observe its changes and call methods onChange.

I know Verizon has a 30 day money back (minus restocking fee) return policy. Does this apply if you get your phone from BB? Do they have their own return policy? If so, is it still 30 days?
