Is it possible? I want to get rid of root, return to stock recovery, stock everything, so I can start fresh and start over. I don't know if it's possible. Is it? If it is, how do you do it?

Also I want the wireless tether back. So can I Just root my phone without having to load a ROM to my phone? Also I have noticed in some of the video how-to's they show some files on your computer that you use to do the root but haven't seen any that show where you get the files from. I am also running Froyo 2.2.

If I use the built-in option to restore factory settings, will I keep root and the super-user apk? I'm not downgrading anything, I didn't do any OTA leaks; I'm curious about restoring my phone to factory settings while retaining root.

It seems that Titanium will only delete them, not move them, but if you know you'll never want it again wouldn't that be okay? For app's like CityID or VZ Nav that you will never use or want?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove some of these stock apps like cityid and amazonmp3. What I did was created a folder on my SD "deleted" and I was copying the applications I didnt not want from /system/app. So I moved amazonmp3.adk and cityid.apk to the deleted folder. When I look in the app folder they are gone but when I look under my apps from the home screen they are still there. So I reboot and when i go back into /system/app the apps are mysteriously back.

When I first used metamorph I didn't realize I really had no way of going back to stock because I hadn't backed up my rom backed up before hand. I did back it up before I switched to velocity but it still has R1L on it.

My question is, if I root my EVO and then have some sort of hardware issue that would possibly require a replacement or repair of the device by Sprint, can I restore it to it's pre-rooted condition such that Sprint or HTC cannot detect that it was rooted? Or, if I root it, should I just drop the repair insurance for it, because I am basically jumping off the insurance cliff when I root it?
I've been given a HTC Sensation Xe with beats audio trouble is it came with custom firmware Cynogen Mod 10.2 jelly bean 3.2 installed . I would like to revert it to a stock Htc ICS rom.

I do not mind loosing my root, franco.kernel or twrp, i just want to be able to get the new updates that are being released from google, and OTA if possible. it is super important to me that i don't loose my apps and data.

I haven't had a problem until tonight.
I was using the stock browser on MySpace, finished what I was doing, logged out and used the back key to get back to the home screen, which I always do. I could never get back to the home screen, the farthest back it would take me was to the original MySpace login screen and I had to hit the home key to get back to the home screen.
When I now try to open the browser, it acts like it is loading, I see the status bar, which loads all the way, but other than that, the screen is completely white and stays that way - the whole screen is white and never does anything.
Could this have been caused by MySpace or maybe a browser issue that happened to occur while I was on MySpace?
I have cleared cache, cleared all data, rebooted a few times, force stopped it, killed it with advanced task manager and everything else I could think of.
I received a used handset from ebay (for a fantastic price!) and it has an outdated version of Galaxo ROM on it. I want to return to the latest official Samsung ROM (whichever that is), so that i can then do some comparison benchmarks before moving to the latest GAOSP. Can anyone help me with a couple of questions?
1) How to return to a stock ROM from Galaxo ROM?
2) Where can I obtain the latest ROM and which is it? Intended use is in UK.
3) Does anyone have any idea about when the next GAOSP (full) Beta will be?
PS: I have never done this process, so please humour me and give me detailed instructions ..

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone since day one. I was counting down the days until I could get it. I'd gone from an iPhone 3G, to the Aria, to the Captivate. I was loving the Aria, so I was really excited to get a faster, more full-featured phone. And don't get me wrong, 65% of the time it is a great phone, as long as I'm not trying to listen to music (which is what I do 90% of the time on my phones). I love Swype, I love the screen, yada, yada, yada. All the stuff folks love about this phone, I love. But now I'm at a crossroads. I'm an audio professional. Music playback is seriously important to me. Shoddy playback just can't happen. I mean, this is the top of the top of the line when it comes to phones, right? It should do something as simple as playback music flawlessly, right. It should perform basic tasks without freezing, hesitating or any of that, right? My Aria was faster and more responsive than this phone (by far). And a little easier to use overall.
So now I find myself wanting to keep the phone, but if I do something's gotta change. I can't wait for months. I need basic music functionality now. So my choices are: 1. Root (which could damage the phone and put me in a more difficult situation). And I'm not a developer or anything. I'm a guy with a conversational knowledge of computers but way too busy a life to spend as much time as I have with this phone, although I've enjoyed the reading forums and tinkering. 2. Reset. Some say a factory reset has cured all their ills, but I'm skeptical. Do I want to risk having to take the time to re-input all my data on the off chance that it will magically solve the problem? Call me crazy, but I think the phone was at factory reset level when I bought it, and these problems have been around since day one.3. Return. Well, this is almost the same as factory reset, but with a trip to the store, grief from the folks there and the inputting all info again. And nothing guarantees that the new phone is any more or less glitchy than the current one?
Now, let me say that I don't want an iPhone 4. That's the whole reason I went to Android. I don't like the I4. I've been a Mac guy since 1990, I have an iPad, and iTouch, a MacBook, an iMac, a Shuffle, an iPhone 3G. I just don't like where Apple has gone, for the first time in my life.So, I'm asking you all: what the $&^ should I do? I'm at the breaking point with a phone I love.

I have a Note 3 Bell Canada and have not touched it at all other than the OTA update from 4.3 JB to KK 4.2.2. I of course read the woes and pro's of KK 4.2.2 after I did the update!! grin! and do not like the restricted access to my SD card folder creation file transfers etc and want to go back to JB. "A", can I go back with Odin and a stock Bell JB for the note 3, and have it all back like I did before the update...."B" What about my trip counter etc? Will that be effected?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a app with 2 activities, A B A has a button that launches a new intent for B. When at B I press home, then launch app again, B is resumed with onResume(). But if after I press home, I use something like taskiller to clear tasks, then I launch app again, it still shows B, but onCreate() is called. What I want for the second situation is for the app to start A instead of B. How can that be done?
