I know this may seem to be an odd question but it's driving me mad, by any chance does anyone know how to insert the euro "�" symbol into a text message? I used to be able to do this easily on a Nokia phone but I can't seem to be able to do it on the Hero, the only option I have is to type out the word "euro".

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently rooted my phone to 2.1. Great btw! but that is not the point. When I get a text message, I get a series of notifications. I get one from the stock phone's stock txt msg app, and one from the phone, which link to the stock app. Plus, if i download handsent, thats 3 notifications per text! So I take the stock txt msg app notifications off and everything so that one does not notify me anymore. But I still get a notification from my phone, not the stock txt app. I dont even know what app or program is notifying me of a text!!. The icon on the notification bar is a postcard (similar to the stock txt app). When I pull down the notification bar menu, the icon is an opened envelope. When I click it to check, it directs me to the stick txt app. It is weird and annoying. I just want my handsent app to notify me. How can I go about doing that? Any help would be great. There was some talk about this, but no resolution. Anyone else have this problem?

I can change it to any of the preloaded stock sounds and click ok but when I get a text it still plays the stock sound. I also tried using custom and that didnt work either. Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. i upgraded my phone to 2.1 and now it sucks. it takes 40 seconds after i pushed call for my phone to finally start calling. it really sucks. just moving around the menus is very very slow. text msg are very very slow now. everything on my phone just got slower! i want to go back to 1.5 is that possible? i am very tempted to just throw my phone on the floor!

In fact, no matter what I select for a notification tone, I always get the same little chime. Isn't this configurable? If so, why will it not use the tone that I have designated for "Notifications"?

Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.
