anyone know how to turn it off? after the update to 2.1, this feature seems to be gone. seems the only way to turn off vibration when receiving an incoming text message is to put the phone on silent. but then you miss incoming calls. also, my htc weather widget doesn't work either. keeps saying "no weather data available", no matter if I have the mobile network on or Wi-fi. anyone else having this issue?

How do I set my phone so it will vibrate when I recieve a text message. Right now if I am using the phone I get a small vibration like the haptic response for the notification, but if the phone is in standby nothing happens.

Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. Is there a setting where I can make the phone repeatedly give me an alert and/or vibrate when I get a text message? I have searched both the sound and display option in the phone settings and the messages settings.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi upgraded my phone to 2.1 and now it sucks. it takes 40 seconds after i pushed call for my phone to finally start calling. it really sucks. just moving around the menus is very very slow. text msg are very very slow now. everything on my phone just got slower! i want to go back to 1.5 is that possible? i am very tempted to just throw my phone on the floor!

Handcent would autosize the pic so I could send. So my question is can I change the setting in the native app or just revert back to handcent.

The initial list of message threads loads fine, but when I select one I get "loading" for a very long time. This has never happened to me before, and I have been running 2.1 since it was released. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.

Is there a way to make your phones screen light up when you receive a text message? Also is there a way to set a reminder like every few minutes that you have a text message? Say if you receive a text message while you're away from the phone then two minutes later the phone vibrates or sounds to remind you that you have a new text.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Hero a couple of days ago and I can't help but getting a bit annoyed by the fact that whenever I receive a message my phone gives off the double vibrate buzz, followed by most often just a second of silence before the message sound 'pling' goes off. The pause between the vibration buzz seems a bit random and I have experienced it pausing for up to like 10 seconds before a sound plays. I cannot see that this is supposed to happen.What's wrong?My phone has build version 2.73.405.6 (which confuses me a bit since HTC webpages says that the newest build version is 2.73.405.5).

Also a tip, although it tells you you cannot use over wifi I find it works fine if you disconect the wifi whilst signing in and then reconnect the wifi.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want the incoming message to show up on the home page when it is first received, like the iphone does, it covers a good portion of the screen, for a few seconds even when the phone is asleep, then it goes away until you wake it up. I tried Handcent and I'm now using ChompSMS. With Chomp you get this tiny little ticker at the top of the screen, that is all. Is it possible to have that feature with this phone?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

The message one just seems to be silent.Have been playing around with the settings and have tried the obvious ones like 'Silent Mode' etc but all settings seem ok.
