I'm running Windows 7 on my main PC and netbook - are there any issues with the Hero and Windows 7? i.e. HTC Sync? Really excited and looking forward to getting the phone - still not sure what to do with the N97 - speaking of which are there any REALLY good fm transmitters that work with the Hero for in-car playing?

I went through a bunch of screen protectors before finding the right one. I got this USB cable that just won't go in all the way. I'm done with trial and error. Screen protectors, cables, chargers, whatever you use with your Captivate, list it all here so the rest of us know what works. P.S. Headphones, TV cables, cases, FM transmitters, etc.

My alarm clock on the HERO doesnt work now, i set the alarm but it doesnt go off. Seemingly it might be an app which is stopping it from working? is it possible=? and also how might i find out which app it is thats stopping it.

View 45 Replies View Relatedso I have all of my .mp3's on my PC by artist, then subfolders, albums. I have retagged them all. I have a total of 15 artists, 26 albums, 340 songs. I dragged and dropped the folders over to the SD card under "Music". I then fire up the music player and my "Now Playing" screen, at the very top, under "Now Playing" it's only showing 1/100. I can scroll through the albums, but it's not listing all of them. How do I get all albums to show on the now playing screen? Or is it even possible? This is driving me nutz!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to know if there is a way for watching .WMV videos on the HTC Hero.
I already know that it will play MPEG-4 videos without a problem (you can use the RealPlayer Video Downloader to download HQ/HD videos from places like Youtube and it automatically saves them to MPEG-4 format).
However, I want to transfer some files like music videos onto my HTC Hero and having tried several times, using the RealPlayer Converter, to convert the .mpg files to .wmv, I can't watch them on the Hero.
However, I recently looked at one of the threads (I think on a different forum) and he said that he could watch videos in WMV format using 750kbps on resolution 480x320. But RealPlayer only allows for 768kbps and resolution as 480p HD as the nearest possible (which was the setting I ordinarily chose).
The other strange thing is that when I go onto the Albums part of the phone to see if I can view any videos, it shows a thumbnail image of the music video (a preview image of the video) and when I play it, I can hear the music, but the video itself fails to appear.
Can you remind me please what is the name of the App that I believe I read about that you can find out a song just by playing a little with the App running? It sounds like a Cool little thing, well to my Childish mind it does.

I have a strange thing going on with my htc hero, whenever someone calls they can hear james blunt your beautiful playing over the ringing until I pick up. I haven't set it up and i dont have any james blunt on my phone even after a full restore it still does it. Any ideas how to stop it from doing this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSeems to me everyone is so grateful for the Rom update that we haven't had time to be hacked off about it. I work in software and the size and number of these updates says to me that HTC knew about many of these issues before the handset shipped and were already working on fixes them. There is no way things like the camera upgrade are bug fixes found after go live. Someone (probably an accountant) decided that it was OK to ship even with the defects and that when they were fixed it was OK to have an update system that forced us all to completely rebuild our phones or partly rebuild them if we were prepared to buy a third party app to back them up.
If HTC seriously want to take on the Iphone they are going to have to be a lot slicker in future. Just having a great product is not good enough you need the whole package if you want mass market appeal. In the end they may have shot themselves in the foot. This update may have largely fixed the lag but all those early reviews are still out there and people considering this phone will still find them and be put off for months or years to come. Don't get me wrong I love it and would not change it for an Iphone or anything else I am just sad that such a great product has been so badly tainted by poor customer service and niggling faults.
I was hoping that we could get a good list of Podcasts going that people enjoy. I really enjoy listening to them, but don't really know what to look for when I search google's "Listen" app. Lets get some suggestions and descriptions going!
