I've seen on YouTube quite nice animation as browser changes from portrait to landscape. I don't get this, even after selecting 'show animation' in settings. How can I get this?

I've been trying the Opera Mini 5 beta, and I'm loving it so far. Particularly the fact that it's so much faster than the standard browser. So, my question is... Is it possible to change the "default" browser? That is, in some apps I have the option of "viewing in browser", but these always take me to a page using the default browser. One such example is "NewsRob" with its "Browser" menu option when viewing an article.

The problem that happens is tuat google thinks I am Spanish and therefor makes google.com display in Spanish. I tried changing and deleting the cache in the browser, tried changing the local settings, nothing wants to work? Right now I have set my homepage to the English version using the url codes, but that is only a temp fix.

I'm reading the android source code, and wanna make orientation animation. I've found that when I rotate the screen, the code will be executed to public boolean setRotationUncheckedLocked(int rotation, int animFlags){}, in which there's a line startFreezingDisplayLocked(). If this method works, there's no animation when I rotate the screen. Thus, I wanna know whether Google forbid orientation animation on purpose, and if I wanna make an animation, whether just use stopFreezingDisplayLocked() instead? Thanks a lot.

I have a widget set up and it displays properly in both portrait and landscape when added to each. But when I change orientation it has the problem "Problem Loading Widget". I delete this, re-add the widget, and it displays correctly. Thus, my widget can support both portrait and landscape but it doesn't survive an orientation switch. What am I missing? Do I need to redraw the widget when orientation is changed? Doesn't it do this automatically? Do I need to call onUpdate() somehow?

I get an OutOfMemoryError every time i change the screen orientation and I am having a hard time finding the mistake...
The Activitie's view consists of an ImageView, two Buttons and a Spinner. I don't have static variables and can't imagine where i could leak a context.
Most of the times, the exception is thrown at setContentView (R.layout.upload); sometimes it goes fine until imgUpload.setImageURI(imageURI);
The images i am displaying are form the G1's camera, so about 500kb and 2048x1536pixels
Here is some code:

I have Activity with ListView inside it and in the onCreate method of the Activity I have code for populating the Data of the ListView this Data is a server based and so populating includes calling Network URLs. I have the ArrayAdapter of the ListView in the Same Activity Class.
Now the Issue I'am facing is that, in Rest all scenarios my Activity is behaving in a proper way but when the Orientation [ Portrait to Landscaped or other way round] is taking place the Data is Getting lost and Newer Data calls are Required to Populate the Same Old Data now this is something that is not intended out the code how should I deal with it.

So if the user turned the phone horizontally then the app would be viewed horizontally if you know what i mean
Also how would i make a timer, so if a button were pressed, how would i say stop for 2 seconds and then go to link?

Just started testing my games in 1.6 and the first thing I notice is that on the landscape ones, the dpad up/down/left/right orientation doesn't switch 90 degrees like it did on all emulators before.
The device trackball/dpad will still change with orientation (right becomes up on landscape, etc..), right?

I just installed LeeDroid 2.2b on my Desire. When it starts, there's a screen that looks like a PC Bios screen that shows stuff being loaded. It plays R2D2 noises. That's followed by an ASCII Android picture and the LeeDroid logo. I'd like to remove all of that. Especially the R2D2 noises. I downloaded some boot animations and here's what I did:
- Created a folder called "local" in the "data" folder. (there was no "local" folder already, nor a "system/media").
- Dropped a bootanimation.zip into the "local" folder of the SD card, via USB (Windows). File was present on that folder.
- Rebooted
- Nothing happened.
Is it even possible to change LD's boot process? (I'm not sure if the BIOS screen is an animation or its actually calculating stuff, and will bork everything if removed). If Root Explorer, Android Mate or something like that works, great, as I'd prefer not to have to mess around with installing drivers and all that sdk stuff! But would they do anything different then I already did via USB, since I am able to place the file anywhere on the FAT32 partition? (Although if the boot file needs to be on the ext3 partition or otherwise outside fat32, that's another story.....). I wonder, has anyone succeeded at changing the boot process in LeeDroid?

I have the VanillaDroid ROM installed on 2.1 v2. My phone is rooted. But I don't like the boot animation that came with the ROM, so I decided to change it. In every tutorial I've seen, people mention a "bootanimation.zip". However, I can't find it anywhere on the phone. But I did find the "bootscreen" folder in "/system/media/" with the bootup animations in it. I assumed that if I swap out the animations for the new ones, it would work (reasonable enough right?). Not really. Apparently, I deleted everything in the bootscreen folder, but when I try copying stuff into it from the memory card, it can't find any directory on the memory card through the "adb shell" stuff.
I know the folder with the bootscreen animations and stuff exists on the memory card, but apparently the shell commands say it doesn't exist. So now my phone boots up with no animation or sound. Its nice to have a quiet boot, and it does seem to start up a little faster, but I want a boot screen again. I know if I reflashed the ROM, it would come back (or at least should). But I don't want to have to reset and redownload all my apps and stuff, especially since I have just got everything the way I want. Is there anyway to get the bootup animations back without reflashing? And if I would reflash, since its the same ROM, would I need to do a factory reset?

I've tried using ADB to push bootanimation.zip to my phone. The file copies properly without error but doesn't take affect when I reboot. I also downloaded the free version of Boot Animation from the market. It too reports success but doesn't actually change the boot animation. Has anyone had any success changing their boot animation?

I run my app in the AVD emulator using eclipse but I'm unable to change the screen orientation in the AVD (Android 2.0 platform on the emulator). When I press CONTROL+F11 or CONTROL+F12 on the keyboard, nothing happens. No messages are generated in the adb debuglog/logcat either when I press either hotkey.
According to http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/emulator.html these are the correct hotkeys to switch the emulator's screen orientation. I tried it with my app, and with the messaging app. The hotkey has no affect in any case. I'm running Fedora 12, Gnome. I checked my Keyboard Shortcuts in the System -> Preferences menu, nothing's attached to either hotkey.
