I just rooted my phone yesterday using the method suggested above (xml dev or something like that).. and noticed that my weather never showed up on my home screen. then, after work, i tried to get into my Assistant Free/PageOnce app, also Market & FB.. but says network's not available..
Did i do something wrong? is tethering required after rooting to maintain network access? my texts and calls come through ok. i honestly don't remember if i received my daily agenda via e-mail or not today.
just wanted to know if anyone used it to buy an app? and if so how did he got billed? i want to but drakaz updater but dont know if i'll get billed from my carrier.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBetween looking around here and on androidzoom, I found a couple of apps I want. Problem when I use myphone to access the market, it says that they aren't there. Specifically, I am looking for Launcherpro beta and Adobe Reader. If I find them in androidzoom and scan the barcode its not there either. Short of rooting my phone to install market enabler, is there anything else I can do ?? Or are these not appearing because they won't run on 1.6 ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally was able to unlock my Cliq from the T-mobile network to the At&t network, and I can now make calls and text, but all of the sudden I can no longer access the market for apps. It keeps telling me that my password is invalid (which I am 100% sure it is not). Also, every few minutes, I am recieving a text that says "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 0605040710000041637469766174653A64743D36", but I haven't even sent any text messages.. It started doing that right after I sucessfully unlocked the phone.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI know you can remove those bogus stock apps by rooting the hero but I have a slightly different question that I couldn't find in other threads. I am interested in rooting my hero just to remove the bloatware and then unroot the phone back to its original ROM. I am not a huge fan of tinkering with my electronics because it voids warranties, possibly bricks devices, and causes trouble with firmware updates, but it really ticks me off that sprint forces these apps on us and then makes them impossible to uninstall. Imagine getting a new PC and not being able to remove crap like wild tangent and the 20 free trials for programs you don't want or need. I know this isn't news to anyone here, but every time I see that Nascar app I get irritated. Seriously sprint? Nascar? Anyway, my questions are 1.) is root/unroot possible to remove bloat and return to original state 2.) has anyone had success uninstalling pieces of the bloat without rooting? I don't want to uninstall anything integral to the phone like the stock messages app, but Nascar has gots to go!

I rooted my phone for the first time yesterday. I have not yet flashed any ROM's, all I have done so far is remove some of the stock apps. I have lost my data connection a couple times today, usually a reboot will solve it, however it hasn't on one or two occasions. It seems to have started happening after changing my boot animation to something closer to the 1.5 boot animation. Is it possible that this new boot animation is causing my data connection problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've rooted my Hero, flashed a custom ROM, flashed a custom kernel, and then I downloaded some root-requiring apps (namely setCPU and Wifi Tether). However, whenever I open these apps, they do not ask me for Superuser Permissions!
For example, when I open setCPU, it says "No root access detected. Are applications allowed access to root? Operating in read-only mode." How do I fix this?
My daughters are forever taking my phone to play with and downloading games etc. This isfine but it does limit what apps I can put on my phone. Does anyone know of any apps I can get whereby it will give me the function to hide apps and have a password to access them?

I'm trying to find FlightTrack and I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: flighttrack." When I go to the developer's site and scan the 2D barcode and follow the link I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: pname:com.mobiata.flighttrack"
The developer is talking to Google about it. In the meantime, can some of my fellow Hero owners who took the recent update see if they can see FlightTrack in the Market and report it here? Then I'll know that the problem is either limited to my phone or is a general one for Heros.
Up until yesterday, I've had no problem with downloading anything from android market, but now its seems nothing will work for me. I can access all the apps easily enough but when it comes to downloading them it won't work. I'm using my home WiFi connection. I'm also no where near my data allowance from orange. Anyone else had any problems?

I have downloaded apps from the Android Market, but last night and today, my phone will get into a state where I will select an app to download, it will tell me to watch the notification bar for download status, and nothing will happen. If I select the app in the store to look at the download progress, it just says: "downloading...." with the animated bar, but never downloads. I tried turning off the phone and turning it back on, and that seemed to correct the problem for one download, but then subsequent downloads won't start up. I have barely installed any apps on it, and I'm not really sure what the problem is. Is this a known issue with the Android Market, or do I have something wrong with my phone? Has anyone else encountered this and know why it's happening?
