I know Yahoo Messenger looks pretty good on iPhone. I was wondering what Yahoo! Messenger looks like on HTC Hero? Is it a build-in app to the phone or do you have to download YM
for it.

Is anyone having an issue with yahoo messenger on the HTC hero? It worked well at first - but now it doesn't. Specifically - I can log in - but none of my contacts pop up. In addition, I can send IM's from my phone - but I can't receive them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAre there any Yahoo Messenger applications that work properly on the EVO? Tried several versions last night and they either do not notify you properly or promptly. No flashing LED, unchangeable ring-tones or notifications or are full of advertisements. The ex has a Moment with yahoo and I was playing with it and it works perfect, just like on a computer. This phone should have come with a yahoo messenger app already.

I don't want Meebo or eBuddy, just an official Messenger app. Is there one in development, is there some sort of rift between Yahoo & Android ? I noticed this same problem with my Palm Pixi too. View 8 Replies View RelatedEverytime I open up the yahoo messenger app it literally makes my DX burning hot drains the hell out of my battery, and it slows to a crawl. Shutting down the app only seems to help if it hasn't been open for very long and I normally have to do a complete phone restart to get it back to normal.

A phone call to a friend confirmed they were getting them from me, but I could not see anything back from them. One friend said she sent me over 50 messages throughout the day, to see if I would get one. I was signed in at the time, but never saw any of them. When I got home, I signed in on the computer and was hoping to see a flood of the messages, but nothing popped up. My guess is, the messages were getting sent and confirmed, since I was signed in through the phone, but the app was not displaying them.

I don't see how any of those companies totally ignore the android market. I have tried ALL messenger apps on the device and it just doesn't have a solid feel. I recently returned my Eris due to it not having those apps that I mentioned, however would def jump right back once I know its official.

I would like to be able to sign in as invisible and also have the option to switch to invisible once online. I have yet to find these features which I would think would be pretty standard. Was also looking for a program that would support webcam to a computer from the phone if that is even out there.

How do I IM on Android (HTC Magic) like with ICQ, Yahoo, and MSN Messenger users? Do IM's on the android count as TXT messages with the wireless cellphone provider?I am with Rogers in Canada. If I send an IM, as opposed to a SMS TXT message, will I be billed for it, or does it go like a regular IM message?

What disappoints me is the fact that they said they submitted it to Android Apps but it doesn't take but a few hrs to go through Android submitting process. And this was a few days ago from what I understand. I wonder when we will get it. I've been waiting for it since they announced the release of the Apple version. From the reviews I've been reading on itunes they said fairly positive. Minor things here and there but overall they are saying the video quality isn't half bad. Not as great as facetime but hell I'm sure it's better then movicha and the other one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use to have an Iphone and finally upgraded to my Droid. But thing that i havent figured out how to work is Yahoo messenger to SMS to my droid.
On Iphone, if a friend on yahoo messenger SMS'ed me a text from within it i got it just fine as a txt msg and can reply back, but on the droid, when u send the sms messege, my droid doesnt get anything.
I tested with AIM and Live messenger and seemed to work but yahoo doesnt.
If anyone has a yahoo account and droid can u please test to see if it works for u?
Regular phone to phone sms works fine too.
I just upgraded to the Evo from the Hero. I was lucky and the store did not record my equipment upgrade last time, so I was eligible at the launch date. I used to use the IM app on the Hero, but it looks like it did not make it to the Evo. Am I missing a stock HTC app and it is now renamed or part of another app? If not, what is my best choice - something like ebuddy? I mainly use Y messenger.

What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

I have noticed my android native IM app is sluggish at best and since 2.1 the dropped connectivity isn't so much as issue, I was wondering if any of you have found a YIM app that blows the stock out of the water and/or performs as well as the sidekick IM program?

I was going to download meebo from the market, but just before installing I read a warning that the app could prevent the phone from sleeping. Obviously this would then cause the battery to die faster, which is a concern for me. Does Meebo actually prevent the phone from sleeping? I want a decent messenger app that closes when I log out of my windows live messenger account and doesn't prevent the phone from sleeping and run down the battery.
