I am looking for what can be done for video calling from my Evo to my home desktop as I travel a lot and when Fring was working with skype it allowed me to see my son and him to see me. Any suggestions as Fring video calls with MSN and Yahoo messenger don't seem to work.

View 21 Replies View RelatedI am sure this has been discussed before but I have the Sprint evo and am looking for a way to video chat from my cell to another pc with a program like AIM, MSN, Google talk or Yahoo Messenger. I use to be able to do it with Skype (through Fring) but now that its gone im hoping if anyone could recommend another similar application for this. I am looking for a third party software that i could video chat with through using a common chat program (AIM, MSN, Google talk, or Yahoo Messenger).

He was in the garage, I was in a room on the opposite side of the house both very quiet areas.Just wondering if anyone else has a lot of audio feedback using Fring video chat?

View 47 Replies View RelatedWell, they officially were approved from Itunes (Apple) a little earlier today and it is live. What disappoints me is the fact that they said they submitted it to Android Apps but it doesn't take but a few hrs to go through Android submitting process. And this was a few days ago from what I understand. I wonder when we will get it. I've been waiting for it since they announced the release of the Apple version. From the reviews I've been reading on itunes they said fairly positive. Minor things here and there but overall they are saying the video quality isn't half bad. Not as great as facetime but hell I'm sure it's better then movicha and the other one.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAre there any Yahoo Messenger applications that work properly on the EVO? Tried several versions last night and they either do not notify you properly or promptly. No flashing LED, unchangeable ring-tones or notifications or are full of advertisements. The ex has a Moment with yahoo and I was playing with it and it works perfect, just like on a computer. This phone should have come with a yahoo messenger app already.

I don't see how any of those companies totally ignore the android market. I have tried ALL messenger apps on the device and it just doesn't have a solid feel. I would like to be able to sign in as invisible and also have the option to switch to invisible once online. I have yet to find these features which I would think would be pretty standard. Was also looking for a program that would support webcam to a computer from the phone if that is even out there.

How do I IM on Android (HTC Magic) like with ICQ, Yahoo, and MSN Messenger users? Do IM's on the android count as TXT messages with the wireless cellphone provider?I am with Rogers in Canada. If I send an IM, as opposed to a SMS TXT message, will I be billed for it, or does it go like a regular IM message?

As I understand it, it's not really running Skype at all, it's just a fancy way to call their local Skype number, which you can actually do on any cell phone, right? So you still use minutes. If you make long-distance calls, you'll also use credits. If you make local-calls, I assume you don't? And do you use credit if you make Skype-to-Skype calls? What if someone Skypes you -- do you still use credit? Second, can Fring really do real voip Skype calls? Just using my wifi and no minutes? Can I see all my Skype contacts? Can they see me?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI use to have an Iphone and finally upgraded to my Droid. But thing that i havent figured out how to work is Yahoo messenger to SMS to my droid.
On Iphone, if a friend on yahoo messenger SMS'ed me a text from within it i got it just fine as a txt msg and can reply back, but on the droid, when u send the sms messege, my droid doesnt get anything.
I tested with AIM and Live messenger and seemed to work but yahoo doesnt.
If anyone has a yahoo account and droid can u please test to see if it works for u?
Regular phone to phone sms works fine too.
Is anyone having an issue with yahoo messenger on the HTC hero? It worked well at first - but now it doesn't. Specifically - I can log in - but none of my contacts pop up. In addition, I can send IM's from my phone - but I can't receive them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEverytime I open up the yahoo messenger app it literally makes my DX burning hot drains the hell out of my battery, and it slows to a crawl. Shutting down the app only seems to help if it hasn't been open for very long and I normally have to do a complete phone restart to get it back to normal.
