All of the sudden, I am getting the low storage space icon above. This has happened 2 other times. I do a hard reset when that happens. I checked my phone this morning, I had 120 mb internal memory, and now I am down to 2.26mb of memory. My phone gets warm, battery drains. Nothing is running!

Here's the proof of the madness. I deleted several space hogging applications and it hasn't gone away. I have also power cycled and messed around with a few settings and the low storage warning will not go away.

View 35 Replies View RelatedI've been running with about 15-20mb of memory left for the last couple of months perfectly happily, haven't installed any new apps etc. This morning when I woke up the phone was suddenly reading completely full with something like 44kb of internal memory left. I went through and deleted a bunch of apps, emptied various caches and got the memory back down to 130mb of the 147mb. Now, I've had my phone on charge all afternoon, maybe 3 texts and 5 emails have come in and all of a suddenly the memory is totally full again! Most apps now force close because there's not enough memory to run them but something is obviously just filling up the memory somehow. Anybody else have this problem, or any ideas how to solve it?

Got the storage space warning so I offloaded all the pics to my laptop but phone still showing storage space warning and internal memory shows 24.00KB No apps have been installed yet, stock Sprint EVO phone. I'm getting 3 email accounts to the phone and the memory shows email is at 336 megs. Is that what is swamping the memory on this phone? I turned off the emails but the phone won't let me delete all the emails now, I get an error or email has stopped and have to force close the app.

I received a 'low memory' message last night and my first action was to dump some unneeded apps which seemed to relieve the problem, but I figure that it is just a matter of time until it comes back. I am not using the SD card for anything right now and was wondering if that could be a path to avoiding this in the future. If so, what can I move there and how do I do it? Can I run apps from the SD card? I have a couple of large 3rd party apps including Grocery iQ (9.25MB), Touchdown (7.98MB), Documents to Go (7.59MB) and Trapster (4.61MB) along with a bunch that are in the 3-4MB range.

I recorded one video that was about :30 seconds and took two pictures. Now when I open my camera I get a "warning low memory" message. I checked the sd and phone storage from the settings and its showing 1.68gb available? also when i go to gallery i cannot look at pictures or watch the video I recorded.

I connected it to my LINUX computer, copied the contents of the old drive, and then copied them back to the new card. No luck. I get a mounted as read only error. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've started seeing some apps that offer to read/write data to the internal phone memory (like Super KO Boxing 2, which offers to save a whopping 52MB to the phone memory). I suppose this is because newer Android devices have a lot of internal storage, as opposed to my devices, which have very little. I would like to support internal storage in my app as well.
But it's a bit difficult to implement a solution to something that I don't really know how it works. For example, do these newer devices allow users to upload files to the internal memory, like it's possible to do with the SD card? Can someone explain internal storage from an user perspective and recommend strategies for supporting read/write operations both for internal and external memory (ie: letting the user choose which memory to use at startup, like the Super KO Boxing 2 app)?
My phone (htc desire) kept saying low on phone storage and I assumed this meant the memory card (originally 4gb) so I purchased an 8gb sd card and put it in my phone, however the same message popped up low on phone storage. I now realise that its the memory storage thats low and not the sd card. Is there are way of moving my apps etc., on to the sd card rather than using the phone memory? If this isn't possible is there any other way of getting around the low phone storage problem?

I have a rooted phone with 4.1.1 Jelly bean.
My new android 4.2.1 phone has 32GB of phone storage, but only 1.5 gigabytes of that is allocated to the "internal storage" partition for app installations etc. The rest is used as an internal SD card for data storage. I also have an actual SD Card of 32GB.
I find the 1.5GB of internal storage a little bit too low and I fear to run out of memory in a few months of intensive use. As I have a large external SD card it is a bit useless for me to also have a huge internal SD card partition and I'd rather add some of that to the 1.5GB of internal storage for apps.
I have googled for quite some time now, but I can only find threads of people trying to extend their internal storage by partitioning an external SD card. This is NOT the same as my problem as my phone storage is large enough but just not properly allocated in my view.
So my question is as follows: is it possible to add a few GB's from my phone storage to my internal storage?

Now my problem, I was recently running out of internal memory (which was 8 GB) so I formatted my internal memory from my computer. After that my internal memory has disappeared. Now I keep receiving a "damaged storage" message. When I touch it, a format option comes up but when I format it a message appears "checking for errors" but nothing happens. I tried reseting my device but no luck there. I can still access the external memory sd card.
P.S. My device is not rooted
Was using wireless just fine for the past month up to about an hour ago. My router is still working and my laptop is working just fine through wireless so nor sure what the problem is. I tried turning the wireles@ on phone off and on.. no change. Tried powering off and,on. no change. Any ideas?
