View 12 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed a few people have had the same problem. Notice to charge your phone, check battery usage and it says "camera a million percent." Best advice so far is to turn your phone off then back on and it goes away. But this happens every time I use my camera. Am I gonna have to turn off my phone every time I'm done with the camera or is there a way to make this stop happening? It's only a recent problem too. When I got the phone a few weeks ago, I had no problems. If the battery was low and I checked why it'd show display and cell standby and phone idle. It's just been the last few days that it started showing the camera.
BTW when I press on it (where it says "camera a million percent") for more details it says "turn off GPS" why do I need to turn of GPS to make my camera stop draining the battery or is that totaly unrelated advice?
Unfortunately I thought of this after I updated but if anybody could post before and after of the camera quality in reference to the recent update.

View 4 Replies View RelatedStarted with EXTBlue 09sept, had the phone freeze up a couple times when exiting sleep mode. Flashed a nightly over that, problem persisted. Also had it randomly restart a few times. From there, started over by wiping everything, and flashing a nightly (091710 I think). Still had the problem, found the so-called "6.1" update, wiped again and went with that. I still have the original problems, and now it's also freezing up on the camera screen. Otherwise happy with the performance and such, any suggestions?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a trendnet TV-IP422W Internet camera. Its all set up with an IP and I can view it from any PC.I use it for security.How to I view the camera with my hero? I do the same thing I do on my laptop. Just type in the web address and it ask for a password, and then the picture pops up. On my phone the picture will not pop up! I see that I'm logged in and can see my control panel. But the picture/video does not show its blank.Is there a special app for this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed the Android 2.1 update I have noticed a significant increase in my battery depletion when I am using the camera app. This is even if I am using the camera app for a very short period of time. For example, I might take three or four shots in the course of two minutes and my battery drain would be on the order of 7% - 8%. This is way more battery drain from the camera app than I ever witnessed when I was using it with Android 1.5.
I also noticed on the battery status screen, where you can see how much percentage of your total battery life that various apps and system processes are using, that the camera app skyrockets up to over 90% of the total usage every time I use it for a few minutes.
When I send camera shots via email using HTC's Mail application, the photos are not readable by most recipients (except, interestingly enough, by my wife on her blackberry). Same photos sent by the gmail app are fine. The photos appear as attachments, but they cannot be viewed and when the recipient tries to download, a jpg that is only a fraction of the total size is saved and that file is not viewable either.

It worked fine for the first 3 weeks. As of a couple of days ago it is not. If I try to use it I get a popup that says: Sorry - The application of Camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. The button below says 'Force close'. What could I have done? How do I fix it? Also my battery life at the same time has gone from acceptable to horrendous. Is this related or coincidence?

I would also sugest to our ever so patient moderators to move any post of this nature to this thread. Let's clean up the forum and when the update is out out we can get rid of all this with one flush.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have (UNFORTUNATELY) an Orange branded/locked HTC Hero running the oh-so-old Android 1.5 ROM....what would happen if I tried updating it with the Sprint 2.1 ROM (if this is possible).If it's not possible / will brick my phone, does anyone have any idea when Orange will release the update (not even had the fabled pre-update update which the rest of Europe seem to have had or about to).As an aside, I will NEVER buy an HTC phone again after this s*** is over with. They may wonder why people want iPhones....Apple promise the iOS4 update...they deliver, on time with no malarkey about supposed different carrier versions. Counting the months till I'm out of contract and can sack off my HTC Hero.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just go hero and I went to the Pop3 setting and started to insert my microsoft pop3 account setting in the fields as prompted. The password was not correct so it would not pull in my emails.I can't seem to find out how to go back into my pop3 settings since the HTC Hero email application will not let me view my previous settings to make changes.There must be a way, I am just not seeing it.Please help me with the correct procedure.It tells me to select my email account from the drop down screen in my created email account, so, I select the email address that it shows that I created.
