Wanna just ask is it normal to hear whisper sound or rustle when calling. If no, how to shut it off... Tried sip call when dialing no such sound, skype also. But when cellular the sound is there already on ringing and doesn't go away when picked up. OR is this the carriers fault? Thanks for any answer (sorry if its already somewhere here) (The volume is on the lowest setting)

Ive updated to Froyo! Everything gets smoother and smoother, great upgrade! BUT! When I call or recive calls i get a second calling sound that continus through the conversation? so I have the the "doooo..........dooooo.......doooo...." sound in the background when I have a conversation. I have installed severeal apps. but non that I believe influence the calling telephone app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to figure out how, but I recently met this girl, and we've been talking on the phone in the evening, and sometimes, I'll hear her voice coming from my pocket, and I'll dig my phone out and she'd be (at 2 am mind you) on the other end laughing at my horrible singing or whatever I was doing in the car. I called her 6 times yesterday from my pocket! Phone is locled and everything, 3 days ago, it was my mother. It's always the last person that called.so I can't understand how a locked phone is calling people like this!

Seems that whenever I have two calls going on, I can't hang up on one caller unless they hang up. If I try pressing the end button then I hang up on both callers. I know this was a issue with 1.5 but has it been fixed with 2.1? And if so, how do you go about doiong it?
View 7 Replies View Related1st time poster long time lurker. I have done a search on Google trying to find a solution or at least a reason as to why my phone is behaving this way. Search produces nothing. This week my phone started behaving strange. I will get a call, but the caller ID no longer displays. Suddenly the screen starts to flash and I have to unlock the screen in order to see who is calling. By the time the screen is unlocked the person has already hung up. I have not done anything (add new programs) in the last 2 weeks and I am not sure why this is happening.

If you currently have your GV number set to call your Sprint cell and your incoming call is from another cell phone will you be charged for the minutes? If you setup your phone so GV is used to call all numbers that you dial will you be charged for calling other cellular number because GV masks the number? I have been through every level of support that Sprint offers and no one can answer me. Sadly tier 3 technical support told me "Google Voice is useless on a cell phone and you would not want to use this anyway". I had nothing more to say after that!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty sure my Hero used to give me a beep when I got a new SMS, but it stopped at some point (a couple of weeks ago) and I haven't heard one since. I've tried re-setting the notification sound but it doesn't help.I'm getting other alerts (new mail, etc.) it's just SMS that doesn't play a sound. I've checked the volume level and it's set to the same as the phone ring level, which is fine. I'm wondering if I installed an app that killed it.

As much as I'm addicted to the phone, I was a bit disappointed the sound quality wasn't great- comes out a bit 'tinny'. I got myself some Sennheiser CX 500 earphones and it seems now the sound it much much better.
I just wondered what other people's experiences were with the music/sound quality on the Hero...
Also, if it's not too much to ask further, what music player do you use? I've got Rockon and the default player and kinda like them both but neither are perfect...
So my Hero got stolen, and I'm considering the Evo (I'm on a waiting list right now). What concerns me, though, is that Ogg Vorbis isn't listed as a supported music file type for the Evo, unlike the Hero. Does the Evo really not do Ogg? That would be a deal killer for me, since all my music is in that format. Also, for those of you who've had the Hero, how is the sound quality of the Evo in comparison, and does it seem to put out the same amount of power? (The Hero drove my big Sennheiser 580 headphones just great all by itself- I would hate to have to get an amp.)P.S. I did some searching, and could not find these subjects covered.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with the ear-speaker of my HTC Hero. It has been working great for near 4 months now then out of nowhere the ear-speaker stopped working yesterday. Whenever I try to make or receive a call I cannot hear the other person speaking. If I switch to speaker or headset then I can hear them just fine, but if I try to use the ear-speaker there's nothing. Anyone got any bright ideas on what's wrong/how to fix it?

View 2 Replies View Relatedthis is mu 2nd hero phone and both will now not allow sound to come through headphone. At 1st the sound comes through great then np sound at all through headphones.
Today at lunch, I am walking outside aneto into 7-11 andfeel my phon3 vibrare and then no sound throuth the headphones. It's like the headphones are muted. When headphones are plugged in there is no symbol showing heaephones are plugged in.
Besides an app, is there a way to change the sounds for incoming messages? i mean to something i made. Or a way to silence it at all? i thought i was in the right menu for changing it, but i didn't see anything about silencing it.I downloaded ringolite.. and it said to silence the normal one first, and i couldn't find where to silence it. just to change it to another stock sound.

The message one just seems to be silent.Have been playing around with the settings and have tried the obvious ones like 'Silent Mode' etc but all settings seem ok.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have dowloaded Google Translate from the Market and also downloaded Text to Speach extended, which, when I check the settings, Translate is showing that I have installed.When I have translated a word or phrase into french for example I touch the speaker icon and a little box comes up saying "speaking in French".The trouble is there is no sound coming from my Hero.I have tried it with and without headphones and with different langauges and there is still nothing.And yes the media volume is up full.Have I missed something simple? When my Hero receives a new email, the flashball notifices me about it, but the notification sound and vibrate do not work even though I have them both checked in the settings (the sound is also selected).
