Is there a way to hang up on one call during call waiting or conference calling? Seems that whenever I have two calls going on, I can't hang up on one caller unless they hang up. If I try pressing the end button then I hang up on both callers. I know this was a issue with 1.5 but has it been fixed with 2.1? And if so, how do you go about doiong it?

I've noticed with my T-Mobile G2 that there is no call waiting alert with the default settings, so I'm never aware of someone trying to ring me from within another call - a function that's been standard on every other mobile I've used.
I'm sure it must be possible to set this up, but can't seem to find out how to do it. Very annoying, as I invariably get calls on top of one another and people are starting to tell me they're sick of being put through to my voicemail.
I can't hear the audible beep of an incoming call while its in call waiting. When I hang up the call I see there was a missed call but while in the first call I could never hear an audible beep.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am facing issues with my Micromax A110 Canvas2. After trying 'n' number of times and 'n' number of ways, I am unable to use call conferencing while calling.I have 2 questions:
1: Is this feature present in this phone model with standard ROM.
2: If not then what are the possible ways I can use voice call conferencing because it's a basic feature which is required most of the times.
Is anyone else interested in how Google voice will affect calling minutes? If you currently have your GV number set to call your Sprint cell and your incoming call is from another cell phone will you be charged for the minutes? If you setup your phone so GV is used to call all numbers that you dial will you be charged for calling other cellular number because GV masks the number? I have been through every level of support that Sprint offers and no one can answer me. Sadly tier 3 technical support told me "Google Voice is useless on a cell phone and you would not want to use this anyway". I had nothing more to say after that!

I have not had the phone long enough to have much call waiting experiences but the times I did, I noticed I had to press menu and then go thru a menu to "click over" to the other call. This is g=fine and dandy from the comfort of your couch but is not advisable if you are driving a car. Is there a one button shortcut to go to the other call without having to look at a menu?

When I am on a phone call and another call comes through, that person's Caller ID contact list name does not come up, just their phone number (even though they are in my contact list). This did not happen on 2.1...it always showed the contact name info. why or if there is a setting to change?

Go to answer the other call let them know I will call them back later...other caller hangs up and then the call just hangs there in dead air. So now both of my lines are occupied while I am only talking to 1 person.PLEASE let me know if there is a fix to this issue because it is a big deal for me. Didn't know if anyone had a similar problem or a fix. Google voice is working fine, but after installing doubletwist, about 80% of the time after I hang up a call, Doubletwist will launch automatically and play a random song. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Doubletwist, but no change.
Any ideas other than uninstall and leave off Doubletwist?
When I click on gmail, I get a "waiting for sync" message. It's been there for about an hour.

noticed something weird with KitKat, and confirmed this on two different phones (Nexus 5 and Moto G but running latest KitKat 4.4.2). On occasion (not every time) the phone seems to auto dial someone after you've ended a call with someone else.
My wife reported the problem first with her Moto G. At first I thought she might just be accidentally hitting a button after calling someone (this is her first smart phone and first touch screen phone) but it's happened several times for her. Final catch was today when I clearly had it happen to me (it also appears it may have happened before once or twice on my phone). I had called someone using my bluetooth in my car, at the end of the call I pushed the hangup button on the steering wheel, and the call ended. Then my wife picked up the phone to call another person and we both noticed it was calling some other friend of ours (that I had txt'd with maybe 2 hours before). It had just started calling this person for no reason. We quickly ended the call (hopefully it didn't bug them), but wow is that annoying.
It seems to happen every once in a while right after hanging up with another call. It seems to call someone in either your recent call or txt history. I'm not sure what might trigger it as it doesn't happen every time, and I'm not sure what number it chooses to call (though it does appear to be someone you recently called or txt'd).
In Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

Meeting my beloved mother, for once in her life she's remembered not only to have her phone, but to have it on (will miracles never cease!). I call to find out where she is. She's 5 mins away.
So - while waiting for her, I go into my gmail to respond to a mail. Mother arrives - 'I tried calling to say go queue for a coffee, so we didn't have to wait, but it went straight to voicemail'. I hadn't moved, reception was still good.
I want to find out how to see calling waiting notification when I call someone and they are on the mobile.

Ever since the OTA update yesterday, if I am on the phone and another call comes in, at that very moment, the current call I am on gets disconnected and I have to click either "answer" or "reject" button. Its like the WAITING part of call waiting doesn't work anymore. like the phone can only handle 1 call at a time. I've tried rebooting but dont know what else to try.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire over a month now, we've had some teething problems but this is the most consistent one - there's no call waiting notification on my phone. I've missed about 3 calls and several texts while in another call, but my phone doesn't give me any indication that there is something else going on.
Some cursory googling found that other people have had their Desire make weird noises instead of a call waiting tone, but mine has nothing at all. Anyone have this happen to them or any ideas how to fix it? Although I'm fairly happy around technology I'm not too keen to root my phone, what with warranties and insurance and stuff.
Is the calling waiting problem for all Android phones? Or just some? It's like my phone doesn't really hang up on the person I was talking to even if I tell it to.

One thing that is annoying me and that I can't seem to change is the call waiting option. I have set up my own call options and they work fine - what I am having problems with is when I call someone who is already on a call - my phone does not tell me that I am waiting. I have always had this with my other phones without having to set up or do anything - how do I manage this on teh Samsung Galaxy S? I am with Vodafine and have Android 2.2 Froyo.
