Samsung Fascinate :: Calendar Widget - Display Next Entry On Calendar
Sep 11, 2010I played with the Fascinate today for more than an hour at VZW. I LOVE IT. My only question is related to the calendar. On my D1 I have many more widget choices including the calendar. This widget displays on my home screen and always shows my next appointment whether it is today or in a week. The next calender entry always shows. This is not the case for the Fascinate. It has a nice widget that shows weather, stocks, and at the bottom appointments. It only shows today's appointments. I downloaded a calender widget app that was nice and may work but it would not open so I don't know.
Now the question: Can any of you guys with the fascinate comment on a widget that allows the widget to display the next entry on the calendar. To be clear on my D1, if I have no calendar entries for today, my 10am meeting tomorrow shows up on the widget with a time and date. Can one do this with the Fascinate.
Android :: Text Entry Box Navigation
Jul 19, 2010Still grappling with the on-screen keyboard on my HTC Desire (came frmo BB).
One thing that continues to annoy me is that when I am entering longer strings of text (eg Facebook comments/status, emails) there is no way for me to go back in the text to change or correct something. I either have to backspace all the way there, or have to try and put the cursor there by touching the screen at just the right place - either my fingers are too big or the screen isn't sensitive enough as I can never get this right.
why can't there be up/down/left/right arrows to move the cursor within the text entry box?
And another thing - there are some entry fields where the keyboard pops up and actually obscures the text entry box other than the first line and you can't see what you're typing.

Jan 27, 2009I would like to insert a new event (start time, end time, and event name) in the user's calendar. How can I do that? I have the impression, that the SDK does not have the API for it (yet), but the G1 has the APIs. Would the CalendarProvider class the way to go?

Nov 16, 2010I can't create a new entry in Calendar. When I long-click on a time and select New Event, it says "You must synchonize a calendar before creating a new event."
OK, so I try syncing to my Google account. But when I go into Settings in my Google account (Settings, Accounts, Google) I only see Sync Contacts and Sync Gmail. (Gmail syncing works fine.) I don't see Sync Calendars.
Furthermore when I go into the Calendar app on the Droid 2 and select More, Calendars, no calendars show up.
So I think there's something missing. I don't see a way to add the calendar to my Google account on the Droid 2.
HTC Incredible :: Adding Exchange Calendar Entry Via Dinc
May 11, 2010ActiveSync with Exchange works great with one exception. I can't create an Exchange calendar entry on the Dinc because Exchange is not listed as one of the calendar choices when creating a new calendar entry. Any calendar entry created on Exchange is synced to the Dinc & any Dinc modification to an Exchange calendar entry is synced back to Exchange. Just can't use the DInc to create a new calender entry on Exchange.

This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..

There is no contact list, am I wrong? Because I have spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out where the contacts are on this thing and its just not there.
