HTC Hero :: People - Contacts - Pictures In My People Update With Facebook
Aug 7, 2010I have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

Jun 13, 2010Is there a way to transfer my Facebook Contacts into my people contacts? When I upgraded to 2.1, I forgot to sync a few contacts. The names show up, but as Facebook contacts and I want them as people contacts. Also, is there a way to delete Facebook contacts?

May 17, 2010I recently flashed my Hero to have SenseHero 2.2. Before that, I had a stock Orange Hero on Android 1.5.
In my phonebook, by that I mean the People app, I used to only show my Phone contacts and hide the SIM contacts.
Since I've upgraded, the only options I have in the View option in People is Google or Phone. But my SIM contacts are also shown, and I want to hide them.
HTC Hero :: Duplicate Facebook Contacts In People App
Nov 26, 2009Had the g2 touch / hero for a few days now and love it but today I have a problem with contacts being duplicated in the people app. All of my contacts are stored in Gmail and there are no dupes but today all of my contacts with a facebook profile are showing twice. Also, and I don't know if this is related, the people app no longer shows any albums for facebook contacts although they are there if I access them through the albums app.

Aug 28, 2009I have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?

Jun 21, 2010I just bought a Hero yesterday and had the Sprint store transfer my contacts from my AT&T sim card. Everything seemed to work fine except when he looked in the "people" icon, nothing was there. So after a few more tries I left. When I got home, I noticed that all my sim card contacts, including my Facebook contacts, were visible when I hit the "phone" icon. My question is, how do I get my contacts in the "people" icon? I want them on the first tab "all". I was able to get one of my contacts in the "favorites" tab but it takes too long to get there. I want to hit "people" and see all my contacts right away.

Dec 30, 2009I have to say that this default Application is truly simple and easy to deal with, and that makes it all the more significant in my view. However, I am running into an odd problem, and I would like to see if anyone has had the same experience, and/or could offer their assistance in this matter.
I have linked all of my contacts to their FB profiles, and all seems to work extremely well. However, for reasons beyond my understanding, when I attempt to click on the "Album" icon (To view the photographs of a FB Friend), this App. always makes me go through a "Force Close". This ONLY happens with ONE of my contacts though, as with every other contact I still retain the ability to view their FB Photo Albums. I was thinking that the one contact in question here, possibly has too many photographs for this App. to handle(?), but I can get it to work on a very rare occasion despite such.
I would really like to hear from folks in regard to this issue, because it's puzzling, and somewhat irritating.
I have rebooted, and I have also taken the particular FB profile off of my contact list, and then re-applied it (All to no avail).

May 26, 2010Okay, I don't even know how to search for this question, so I am just going to ask it.
I've only been an Android/HTC Hero user for about a week now, and have a weird thing happening with my Hero. I've probably done something to cause this, but, I can't figure it out.
I have several contacts in my People list, and most of them have multiple phone numbers listed with them. When I choose People, and then say my sister, who has two mobile numbers, a work number and a home number, I get a small detailed card that pretty much fills the screen and allows me to choose a number to call mobile, call home, call work, then it says send message to each number, send email.
But, say when I choose my wife, I can only Call Other, Edit Contact, Delete Contact and Send Contact as vCard.
It didn't used to do this. It used to give me these choices for my wife too. My wife has a home number, a cell number, a truck number, I need to be able to text her cell, etc. Basically, I need the same options for her as I have for my sister.
I have the same issue with many of my contacts. I don't know what happened to cause this. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Hopefully, I won't have to do a master reset to do so!

Nov 14, 2010I have been trying to figure this out and can't. I have all my contacts set up under people. But, when I tap "phone" I get all those people PLUS everyone on my dang facebook. I didn't set it up like that so I'm assuming it has to do with either friendstream or facebook syncing. I don't necessarily want ALL those people in my contacts. Is there a way to change that?

Aug 1, 2010My phone has been acting up lately...Force closing every ten minutes or so for the past couple days, and I've been able to deal with it; however, one thing that is bugging the hell out of me is that I can't edit my contacts without it force closing on me. Does anyone know where I can get the People app so that when I uninstall it, I won't lose it forever? I know I'm not supposed to uninstall it, but I don't really know what else to do.

Sep 25, 2010I would search to see if this was already asked... but I don't even know how to word it, or what to call it, so I must just ask.
On my Droid Incredible, if I launch the People app to view my contacts and hold the Menu button while viewing the main contacts list, a keyboard will pop up. Type on the keyboard, and the typed letters appear in a smokey overlay over your contacts... but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know what this does? Without rebooting my phone, I cannot get rid of the *banner* I guess you'd call it. I've done this twice-- once on accident (thought the keyboard would allow me to search contacts), and once just now trying to figure it out!
HTC Desire :: Understanding Contacts Vs People
Aug 25, 2010I have a new htc desire and I want to:
1. Understand the difference between Contacts and People in the phone? What I mean by that is under the list of programs there is one called " People " if i click that I see I can add people with ( phone, email and birthdate )Yet I also see on my 2nd screen a widget called " Favourites " which says Add contacts and when I hit add contacts it already has a list of names and emails that I totally dont recall adding but I do recognize. I believe it pulled them from my gmail account, So i have deleted them in gmail as I dont need them, but is there a way to delete them all in one go in the phone?
2. What is the best way to add peoples phone numbers in the htc desire? what steps should I take
HTC Desire :: People Widget And Contacts
Jul 14, 2010Got a Desire last week, and it's my first smartphone so am on a bit of a learning curve, but the phone does rock.
Anyway, I'm a little confused with regards to the People Widget.
I have it configured on one of my home screens and its linked to my Gmail contacts account. I have set my favourites (grouped as 'Starred in Android')
and synched the favourites to go to that group when you first set it up.
Now, the phone also has 3 duplicate contacts in the list - all of the duplicates look like they've come from Facebook, but I can't get rid of them from the list.
At first I thought that the phone was trying to synch my gmail contacts with my facebook contacts, but then it hasn't done all of my Facebook contacts that match the contacts in my Gmail.
I'm a bit confused as to how they've got in there.
I've tried resysnching Gmail and Facebook, removed the People widget and re-added it, I've checked everything in my Gmail contacts but can't see anything un-toward, I've tried having background data sync enabled and disabled whilst trying to remove these to no avail.
I still can't seem to remove these 3 duplicate entries.
HTC EVO 4G :: Can't Add / Delete A Group In People / Contacts
Jun 26, 2010when I'm at the phone screen and hit menu/people/groups icon(multiple cards) you have the option to "add group" at the top or hit menu again and 2 options appear: Add Group or Delete Group. Either of these options are not functional. They don't work. It seems that HTC forgot to add functionality for this. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Jul 23, 2010I don't know what exactly happened because I wasn't playing around with settings much. But I had all my contacts/people synced with facebook. The picture would show up but their statuses wouldn't update. And now the picture doesn't show up on a contact, it's not linked with Facebook anymore and when I try to link it says I have no friends..?
First question: Why wouldn't my contact's statuses update?
Second question: How do I link my people/contacts to Facebook again?

Jul 13, 2010I just bought an HTC Legend last week and i'm very happy with it... but one thing really bothers me: For certain people I add in the People app ... as soon as I save them into a category ("Co-worker" for example), they will dissapear from my general list. And if I remove them from that list, I can't find them unless I search for their name?!? Is there like a "hide" thing that I checked by mistake?

Jun 22, 2010I have 3 Google mail accounts and I transferred all of my phone contacts from my Blackberry to my EVO. I see many duplicate contacts for phone and e-mail on my phone but for some reason they don't sync back to gmail. I'd like to merge all of my contact data and then have it synced to either my main gmail account or to all 3 gmail accounts (if that's possible).
All of my accounts are set to sync on my phone but the phone contacts don't seem to be uploaded to my gmail account(s). I figured if I get all the data there I can use the "find duplicates" function in gmail and merge all of my contacts data under single names.
