I just bought an HTC Legend last week and i'm very happy with it... but one thing really bothers me: For certain people I add in the People app ... as soon as I save them into a category ("Co-worker" for example), they will dissapear from my general list. And if I remove them from that list, I can't find them unless I search for their name?!? Is there like a "hide" thing that I checked by mistake?

There are some phonebook groups that I have programmed to hide from contacts. But when I start typing the name of a person to find his contact in People the phone show even contacts in groups that I've programmed to hide.

My 'People'/contacts app is linked to my Facebook account but seems to have stopped refreshing/updating when they do things like update their status or profile pictures. I have updated the Facebook app but to no avail; people on the Legend's Facebook page say that it is an error of which HTC are aware and 'working on', but I thought I would check here to see if anyone knew anything else about it. It's not a major problem but it can be rather annoying to see the same status update over and over again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

But, when I tap "phone" I get all those people PLUS everyone on my dang facebook. I didn't set it up like that so I'm assuming it has to do with either friendstream or facebook syncing. I've tried deleting the Facebook account and then re-logging in. The people show up fine in the Facebook app under friends, but when you view Facebook contact through People, 4 are missing.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy son got an HTC Legend a few months ago & didn't register his Google account. In order to do so now he has to do a factory reset. Unfortunately, a lot of his contacts are stored on the phone & there's no room on the Sim for them. He tried downloading My Backup via the internet to move them to the SD card but the app requires a Google account which he can't register until he's done the factory reset. Are there any apps or tricks available to move his contacts to the SD card that don't require him deleting them in the first place to do it, or is he going to have to buy a pen & paper?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone has been acting up lately...Force closing every ten minutes or so for the past couple days, and I've been able to deal with it; however, one thing that is bugging the hell out of me is that I can't edit my contacts without it force closing on me. Does anyone know where I can get the People app so that when I uninstall it, I won't lose it forever? I know I'm not supposed to uninstall it, but I don't really know what else to do.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIve not found any specific in depth instructions with my phone so here goes my question...I have managed to sync al my email gmail facebook and phone contacts to my handset, I want to put my contacts (mainly phone numbers) into groups so its easier to group SMS people etc, when i try to add contacts to a group it only seems to come up with my Gmail added Email addresses, i have gone into the relevant menu and selected display phone contacts only (or something similar) and re tried but still i am getting just my Gmail addresses as the only option to add to groups. Any help would be greatly appreciated and im sorry if its blurringly obvious!

I can hide the SIM contacts in the People application. But even I unselect the "SIM" in the People application's view option, the Phone dialer's list (left) still has both SIM contacts and google contacts, they are double. I don't want to delete the contacts from SIM card, as sometime I may be able to use the SIM card in other phone for emergency call (in case of battery off, etc.). Any one can the advise how to do?

I like that I can get their pics, email, other phone numbers, etc. What I don't like is that my phonebook has 100 contacts from Facebook that I will never ever call. In my phonebook, by that I mean the People app, I used to only show my Phone contacts and hide the SIM contacts.
Since I've upgraded, the only options I have in the View option in People is Google or Phone. But my SIM contacts are also shown, and I want to hide them.
I use my gmail contact list on my phone. Ever since in synced up with gmail I have my contacts. If i use the "search people" icon I see all my contacts. If I use the "People" icon. I only have a fraction of my contacts in the list. What is the difference between the two sets?

I would search to see if this was already asked... but I don't even know how to word it, or what to call it, so I must just ask.
On my Droid Incredible, if I launch the People app to view my contacts and hold the Menu button while viewing the main contacts list, a keyboard will pop up. Type on the keyboard, and the typed letters appear in a smokey overlay over your contacts... but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know what this does? Without rebooting my phone, I cannot get rid of the *banner* I guess you'd call it. I've done this twice-- once on accident (thought the keyboard would allow me to search contacts), and once just now trying to figure it out!
I have a new htc desire and I want to:
1. Understand the difference between Contacts and People in the phone? What I mean by that is under the list of programs there is one called " People " if i click that I see I can add people with ( phone, email and birthdate )Yet I also see on my 2nd screen a widget called " Favourites " which says Add contacts and when I hit add contacts it already has a list of names and emails that I totally dont recall adding but I do recognize. I believe it pulled them from my gmail account, So i have deleted them in gmail as I dont need them, but is there a way to delete them all in one go in the phone?
2. What is the best way to add peoples phone numbers in the htc desire? what steps should I take
