What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

May 27, 2010A Calendar App for the Hero that (a) has holidays already plugged in (so I can look ahead and find out what day Christmas falls on, etc), and (b) let's me schedule things (vacations, trips, appointments and meetings) then reminds me of those things via something like a pop-up or text message the day before. Does anything like this exist?
Every App I look at has to be "synced" with something else, or just seems to have way more than what I need. Ideas? Bueller? Anyone?
HTC Hero :: Calendar Notifications - Phone Dialer
Jan 29, 2010Love my HTC Hero but two things are bugging me and I'd love to sort them out.
Calendar notifications - When on lock screen and an appointment notification appears, my only options are to snooze or drag-to-dismiss. What I'd like to do is open the item, then have the options to snooze or dismiss. This is especially important when there are lots of appointments in the calendar.
The phone dialer - Any way of turning off the key sounds when using the phone dialer, nothing worse than having to enter a long number with boop-beep-bip-boop-boop-beep all the time.
HTC Hero :: Calendar Disappeared From Phone / Want To Restore
May 9, 2010My Hero was working perfectly with my googlemail calendar. then today, all the calendar events disappeared from my phone. i have tried unchecking and rechecking my googlemail calendar from the HTC calendar app but to no avail. other calendars work fien with my phone (UK holidays, USA holidays), it's only my googlemail calendar which is linked to my Hero which has stopped working correctly. i have also tried restarting the phone. all the calendar's events are visible online through my computer...they've just suddenly stopped showing up on my phone. any advice/ideas?

Oct 18, 2009Is there a way to sync Google calendar and contacts to the phone calendar and contacts?
I deleted all my outlook entries (calendar and contacts) from the phone because it was creating duplicates. Now, I am syncing my Hero with my Lotus Notes calendar at work, as well with my Google calendar. I can see all appointments on my phone. However, I can't see Lotus appointments on my Google account, neither my Google calendar entries on my Lotus Notes.
How can I sync them all? If I import my Google entries into Lotus, it will create duplicates in the Phone and vice-versa.
I don't see any advantages for Google entries to be separated from my other entries. I have one list of contacts and that list should be the same across all programs I use. The same for calendars (actually it is useful to have multiple calendars, as long as no duplicates exists).
That, for me, is the biggest drawback of the HTC Hero. My Moto Q was a lot worse phone than the Hero, but the calendar and contacts sync was much better.

Dec 1, 2009When I sync my Sprint HTC Hero with Windows Vista (using HTC Sync version 2.0.8), I get the following error message: "The application com.android.providers.calendar (process com.htc.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I also get this message occasionally when I'm not syncing. It doesn't seem to prevent my Hero from syncing new calendar events, but the error message is annoying. Anyone have an idea why I'm getting it and what I can do about it?

Mar 31, 2010Got yahoo working on my hero by putting android before imap.Only thing is there is no option to leave messages on the server. Done a test and if I delete from the phone it goes from the server too. Dont want hundreds of emails building up for eternity on the handset.. Hotmail works fine, deletes from handset only as options allow.

Jul 26, 2010I am new to Android, Google calendar and the Captivate phone. Have successfully imported my old calendar to Google Calendar which initially synced with the calendar on my captivate. However, when I add a new event to my phone calendar, it does not automatically show up on the Google calendar. the Samsung rep told me I have to edit each new even to mark it as a "Google Calendar". Is there any way to make this the default option on the Captivate phone? Apr 15, 2010I've searched quite a bit and haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem.I've been using the built-in Mail app on my Hero for the last month with my Yahoo e-mail account (it's a Plus account, using the POP settings provided by Yahoo)...with zero issues. Yesterday, I noticed that I wasn't receiving new messages anymore. I've got the program set to update every hour, and even when manually clicking refresh, the phone would not download any new e-mail messages from my account (and wouldn't send either). There were no error messages though, it appeared to be synced up (the time would show up next to the sync symbol in the top left corner of the app.I knew my settings were correct, so I figured I would just try to delete the account and set it up again. I selected "delete account" and after giving confirmation, the message on the screen said that it was deleting the account but it never finished. The program wouldn't do anything, figured I'd try to force it to close with my task killer but Mail didn't even show up as running. Next step...shut the phone down and powered it back on. Opened Mail up and the account was no longer showing, however there is still some memory of it somewhere as when I attempt to set it up again it tells me that there is already an account with that e-mail address.I can get around that by setting up a new account and changing one character in my address until all the settings are entered in (and then go back and change it), but I'd like to find out if I can address this problem head on (without a hard reset).

HTC Hero :: Yahoo Mail Wont Push
Dec 2, 2009I have my yahoo mail account set up to my hero I never get my mail pushed to the phone I have set it to 5 minute push 15 minute push etc etc .. but works fine if I manually check it, all my mail is there. I alsohave my yahoo account set as default. When I set it up I assume it was done properly hence the reason I can receive the mail if I refresh it myself ...are there any other settings that I may be missing?
